Thank you for this, Jose! I recently bought an AGM M6. I almost bought the M9 due to the price tag alone, but I ultimately got the M6 simply because I knew what I was paying for. I wanted a rugged phone that was disconnected from the internet that would stand up to trips in the woods. I sounds like the two phones aren't so different. The M9 does look better to me. I don't imagine anything will break on my M6 anytime soon, but I'll buy the M9 next time. Thanks for this video, once again.
I mean, every once and a while the T9 makes me scratch my head. Honestly, that's just operator error most of the time that happens to me, lol. Typically, I don't have a lot of problems with it.@@tuckercase2449
@@tuckercase2449 I use an M6 myself and the predictive texting is nice, my only gripe is the buttons are plastic rather than rubber, which means sometimes they aren't detected when pressed. Can be a little frustrating finding a press hasn't been registered, then going back to correct it. I think in the grand scheme of things, the M9 looks functionally the same as the M6 (latest M6 firmware removed the web browser from it so they really are functionally the same). The key differences are: - M6 has massive speaker - M6 has 2500mAh battery vs M9's 1000mAh - M9 has 3.5mm audio jack, M6 only has USB-C with an included 3.5mm USB C adapter. - M9 looks cheaper than the M6, presumably because it lacks the massive speaker and bigger battery. Personally I'd lean more towards the M9 myself if I hadn't already got the M6. I think I'd prefer the rubber buttons, which would likely be more responsive for texting.
Had this for a couple of months now, and honestly it's brilliant, I've felt the battery lasts as well as I'd need it to (charge for a couple of hours every couple of days, but it never dies on me), and the lack of WhatsApp is actually a good thing - less distraction while out and about, but just have the app on a tablet or pc at home. It also forces you to interact with people and the world more, and we need that.
Hey, I'm looking forward to get this phone as well as it fits all my needs and not more but I'm still wondering if you could actually receive MMS or just send it ? Bc that might be a deal breaker ...
Great review. I've been using this phone for a few days now and here are some things I discovered. First, to switch between different text/typing modes, press the # and scroll down until you see the one you want. Second, there is no lock screen pin. You can only set certain apps to require a pin to access them, not the phone itself. Third, when I tried pairing this phone to my 2024 Subaru Outback, it failed. The phone and car see each other and when the connection is attempted, the phone gives an error message saying the Outback is no longer visible. Fourth, I really wish this phone had physical buttons to adjust the volume without having to go into the menu. Otherwise, it's a great phone, especially for the cost. I am trying a digital detox for 2025 and switching to a 'dumb' phone like this one was my first step. I'm in the USA on Mint Mobile and it works perfectly.
I appreciate the review. I thought I was going to have to buy an expensive Sunbeam to get a dumb phone that works well. I’ve never had a smart phone and have been using whatever AT&T’s cheapest flip or candybar was since 2005, but when 4G became mandatory, I was stuck with the u102aa (Cingular Flip IV), which is the worst phone I’ve ever used: keys either didn’t respond or they double clicked, the predictive text was laughably bad, and the software was very buggy and slow. I switched to Mint Mobile and had to get an unlocked phone, and, so far the AGM M9 is perfect: fast and has absolutely nothing extra that I don’t need!
Just ordered one looking at the bands it appears the us version will work on every carrier here in canada except freedom mobile so its probably a better buy for us here. Hopefully I am correct on this and it will work without issues here.
Love the FM Radio, and many other things about this. It would be close to perfect for me if they removed the camera, and the text message capability. ;) As it stands, I'm still stuck on my Sunbeam F1 Dandelion which ticks more boxes for me, but I wish it were a small candybar instead of a huge flip.
I too needed a phone without a camera, I ended up paying the hefty price for the punkt mp02 I really like it but would love a music player and especially a FM radio. I also like a small candy bar style
Do you think this phone/company is secure? Wondering if it sends any info after you turn it on or put a sim in it. Been looking for a "dumb" phone like this but after doing some research I'm a little worried about using these type of phones. Easyfone is another one.
Hello. I bought this phone, and after fully charging it, I could not figure out how to turn it on. I've tried to press all the buttons, and nothing works. Can you please tell me how to turn it on and get past the battery screen? Thank you.
Got it yesterday, love how fast it is. It seems to not receive group mms well, and isn't able to reply to the group. Jose do you know if it's unable to do so or is there a setting I couldn't find? I'd love to use this but that's a deal breaker for me, as I get lots of those texts every day for work.
Here’s a dumb question-is there a specific size of Sim card that goes in here? I’ve tried every which way to put in my old card from my old phone. 😅of all the videos, no one shows putting in or taking out their SIM card.
This seems to merely receive group mms, with some effort I can see the phone numbers of the other people in the group besides the sender, but cannot reply to everyone without creating a new mms every time. Any way to just reply to the group?
That looks just like my crappy track phone from back in the day. It's a simple design so it's probably practical for people that just use their phones to call and text.
I’ve literally been charging my AGM M9 for 5 days straight and it hasn’t even turned on. I starts off with a battery logo with a green bar going then a fully green colored bar with a charge sign in it. Bought from Amazon. So far not so good
sorry but I'm from Europe, so here are the questions: why are not working phones in US, you refer a lot to T-mobile, eventually for basic phones who are running on 2G or 3G network , is the tech so advance? that device required some kind of magic tech , is necessary to made 3 version of the same dumbphone?
A lot of phones don’t work in the US because 2G and 3G are shut down. The reason they made 2 versions is because it’s hard to make 1 that works everywhere.

I was able to find this phone on Ebay brand new for $25. I'm glad I didn't pay a penny more for it, because in my opinion, it's not that great. Even though it's supposed to be made for the US, it's still missing a bunch of bands, like 66. When on phone calls, I experience the other person breaking up like it's the early 2000's again. And this is in the part of my city with the most cell network coverage...I haven't tested it further out, I bet it'd be even worse! I just don't understand why these Chinese phone manufacturers always leave out bands....come on! ESPECIALLY if you're making a device that's MEANT FOR THE UNITED STATES...give us all the bands! How much more could it POSSIBLY COST to make a phone that has every single US band and maybe even worldwide like the iPhone? Oh, and the battery is terrible. Standby time is good, but making phone calls drains the battery quicker than it should. I really wanted to like this phone, and I think overall it's a solid effort, but AGM needs to add more network bands, and the phone needs a larger battery than 1000mAh. For some people this device might work, but you just don't know until after you've spent money on it.
Got mine ordered, I tried to like my Cat S22, bought Big launcher and the old T9 for it but Android is just so stupid and behaves like Windows and is so inconsistent! It has tiny text in places also and it has Google bloat preinstalled, very non RTOS like! Time is ticking on my ancient 2G Samsung. I think I will like this one better 👍🌱
