This album came out at an exceptionally good time. Being stuck at home and having weird dreams because I’m lonely is so relatable.
Okay that’s true but can we talk about that profile picture
You okay?
I literally ugh dave is the best
I know he wrote an autobiographical album and we get a lot of insight into his life but I feel like some of these questions were quite intrusive and personal... And she kept on asking even though you could see he was getting uncomfortable
Honestly I wish she had comforted him a tad bit when he was starting to get a lil uncomfortable and like feeling like he was selfish for singing about himself. I mean of course she isn't his friend she's an interviewer but at least some encouragement instead of saying nothing. The parts where they had banter were nice and he genuinely looked loose and comfortable in those moments. It can really help an interviewee sometimes when the interviewer makes them feel like a normal person and chill.
I think she did okay... he never seemed very uncomfortable talking about and she only asked how he was doing physically and asking general questions. If he was uncomfortable he would have just as easily said that he doesn’t feel comfortable talking about a certain issue but he seemed comfortable talking about every topic.
@@jacobsmith831 yee he seemed pretty chill honestly its not invasive to ask how Joe is doing since Dave is very open about the fact that this album was conceived in a confusing scary time when he had no idea if Joe would survive. I think he was just careful to not let his answers reveal too much about that friend that attempted a school shooting. And another point of discomfort I noticed was him feeling like its somehow selfish to sing about yourself and your experiences 🥺 its never wrong to sing what is true to your life I hope he can feel better about that in the future.
dave bayley I fucking love you and your musical mind
❤️
He’s baby
yes
@@razbotz hello friend from discord, its forstakenz 😂
Listens to dreamland once: Haha okay, so have you ever done PCP?
Fabulous interview; well done. I love the depth of knowledge & fan-dom of the interviewer, something I have always appreciated in NME that NO other music mag can touch.
🥰We all love you🥰 Thank you for making music ❣
I actually don't think the interviewer was that bad. She at least did her research which already is more than you can say with a lot of other press articles/interviews that has come out w/ the album that's more like, puff pieces.
The question about drugs, I feel like nowadays it's not really that shameful to admit to it or taboo to talk about it. To me she seemed to ask it in a relaxed, matter of fact manner rather than someone trying to get some scandalous gotcha moment.
Agreed. She maybe could have created more of a personal atmosphere at the beginning to make questions flow more naturally, but for the most part she did great.
@@jacobsmith831 yes thats ultimately my take aaay shes probably one of the better interviewers I've seen haha
6:31 Jesus Christ at least prepare the poor man
MARRY ME IM TIRED AND RESTLESS
I’m more rested now but I still wanna 💍
@@Js-fg1vmStill now? (Dave is so cool ❤❤)
I don’t wanna wait anymore.
love him, so interesting to hear how he came up with things. Interviewer? Meeeeeh
Tardy to this interview party, but his analogies are excellent 💚
You’re a good friend
Shout out from a fellow Oxonian.
Why is there so few comments lol
What should I do? I’m ready.
don't be torn and be selfish, then you won't get hurted by any other people.
after dave told that whole story about johnny depp the interviewer's next question was soo do you do drugs LMAO my boy sounded very high I love it
And AMEN on the 🇺🇸 bit.... born & raised and my heart hurts every day about our corporate political parties, our division that only serves to perpetuate the powers in place, our environmental disregard, destruction, & disrespect, and our embarrassing AF global presence etc.*. Surely I’m fortunate not to be a Rwandan refugee, but we damn sure can and should do better than the turd we are, & that makes it worse IMO.
(* I could list a novel FR )
Johnny Depp???
