Great tips and necessary! You're so right kits can be tricky or not the right size! I have hundreds of buttons in the house! LOL Will definitely try this and let you know!
Perfect just what I needed. Love your 50's style...sometimes I was reminded of a dark haired Marilyn Mondroe, other times Jane Russell. I am a 49' 'girl' myself.
Thank you, thank you and thank you! It's late at night, I need to make some covered buttons, but all the stores with those supplies are closed. This is a huge help.
Awesome just what I needed. I was trying to remove and open some buttons I had that were already covered. I absolutely mangled one trying to pry it apart and remove the old fabric. I'm actually gonna use ur technique and cover the ones that r already covered. Because they came off an old chair these have really big shanks so I can use the running stitch and leave the shank exposed. Oh, btw way u remind me of Winona Ryder. U sound and look like u could be sisters.
Hi Liz! You are looking so pretty! 😍 I love all of your videos. You are really amazing. Can you please make a video on 'what I eat in a day'. Love ya! 😘💕
Aw thank you! 💘 I'm really feeling my look lately! 😁 Hmm, I'm not sure how many people would be interested in what I eat but I will definitely consider it! Any particular reason you want to see that?
Aw thank you! ❤️ It’s been a journey, that’s for sure. A lot of it is genetics and where I store my body fat, but I can make a video and talk about my relationship with food if it would help some people 😊
I am wondering if I should tackle this one this way as I have 76 buttons to do….lol I hope that you don’t mind me saying but you are so lovely…just a classic example of beauty!
Hello, I work in a laundry shop. I hope you can give some easy and safe techniques on how to saw back covered buttons over thick cook coats. Thank you.
You just run your needle up through the shank and back down through your garment a few times 😁 the glue is just temporary to hold the fabric in place while you sew, it is washable!
You would sew them on like any other shank button! If you’re concerned about the fabric being too flimsy or delicate, use a little interfacing or scrap fabric to interface on the inside where you attach the button 😊 just go through the shank a few times for security and maybe use a little Fray Check for extra security.
Oooh clever! I am a big fan of ideas that mean I don't have to go to the store to buy things 👌👌👌
I can’t take credit for the idea but the glue stick method is my own! 🥰💕 I’m also a fan of not buying extra stuff 😁
I need this.
I'm going to cover the buttons on my dress.
Thanks for sharing

Nice, quick tutorial. Loved this!
Genius! Great for some vintage knitting projects. I want to knit my own fabric to have button match sweater. Will use your technique!
Poison Grrls’ Dottie Cardigan has instructions for knit covered buttons! I did them and they turned out fantastic! I’ll send you a pic on IG 😁

Apesar de nao entender mais so assistir videio dar pra aprender
They look great . Do you need to put glue on the shank and could you, please, show how to sew them onespecially ones covered with double guaze.
You could put some Fray Check on the shank if you wanted to, but it’s not necessary. You just sew it on as you would any other shank button 😁❤️
Do you have a tutorial on how you'd install it?
My too! Just what I was thinking.
Really useful as I do not have the die to close the metal ones.
I used a small coin with little value, added a little stuffing and it looked lovely but were rather heavy.
That woulld be a great way of hiding valuable coins in a mystery story! Nobody suspects the humble seamstress!

This is amazing! I’m just wondering, how do you saw these on? 🤔And the glue isn’t gonna come off in the wash?
You just run your needle up through the shank and back down through your garment a few times 😁 the glue is just temporary to hold the fabric in place while you sew, it is washable!
Love this tutorial! My only concern is how to properly sew them into a garment.
You would sew them on like any other shank button! If you’re concerned about the fabric being too flimsy or delicate, use a little interfacing or scrap fabric to interface on the inside where you attach the button 😊 just go through the shank a few times for security and maybe use a little Fray Check for extra security.
What about fabric that frays a lot?
You can use some Fray Check on the raw edges if you’re worried about fraying. Also, you could cut the circle with pinking shears!
You are so beautiful ☺️
Thank you ❤️
