Age hasnt anything to do with it, look at clapton whos way older and was able to pull of so much. Unfortunately clapton developed a neurological condition that made it difficult :/
Because as a writer you go through different periods along with what is really going on in life. Early Mayer was trying to be as flashy and award winning as possible. 2009 Mayer was a narcissist who made a great album in battle studies but was contesting trying to make everyone who didn’t like him like him. 2012-15 Mayer found peace and humility a bit in both being forced to not talk for months and finding out simple sometimes is best and it’s what he felt like making at the moment. 2016 we see him kind of come back around to pop blues and I think this last album is him finding himself and also appreciating another era of music.
What puts the folded flag inside a mother’s hand….a belief can. What a most poignant and inspired lyric that probably gets lost in the fantastic musical exhibition. Sheer poetry from one so young.
If youre talking about the solo before johns first solo. Thats Isaiah Sharkey, you should check him out hes really top notch. Plays some stuff ive only heard him play
Clapton himself put Mayer above himself , not out of humility, but just sheer peer respect. His exact words were that Mayer is a “virtuoso” guitarist. A master. There is no higher praise from no higher living guitarist. Period.

He's a head and shoulders above 99% of rock guitarists and in that 99% I include Keef, Ronnie, Alex Lifeson, Pete Townshend, etc. I am almost ... _almost_ ready to put him in the same category as Clapton and SRV. But not quite.
@@TanishqAhirrao imo he is the GOAT. He showed he is a great bluesman in John mayhall and bluesbreaker ,in cream he showed his extreme skill at guitar playing blues rock, Showed that he is a great songwriter too in Derek and Domino's days, in his solo career in 80s he focused more on his songwriting and was great ,in 90s he showed his acoustic skills. Imo he is the guitarist that can excel in every stream of music unlike some others that can never go past/don't want to go past just blues, rock, acoustic etc
yehh indeed, at 5:20 i almost threw my headphone away. I love that albert king/srv sound so much, and it's so rare these days. It's great to see mayer sticking to his roots. That outro is my favorite solo on belief ever
This song has unfortunately aged incredibly well. Half the shit going on in this world is based on “belief”. Whether it be the belief of certain religions being less than, or even people wanting to believe every conspiracy that jives with their world view.
So glad to see middle age JM still got it when he's playing that distinctive killer solo that only he can produce
Yeah, I saw him in the early 2000s and have been a lifelong fan since. He is a fantastic player and song writer.
Age hasnt anything to do with it, look at clapton whos way older and was able to pull of so much. Unfortunately clapton developed a neurological condition that made it difficult :/
Yeah wtf does age have to do with it lol? If anything he would be better.
@@JMCollin80 Chill snowflake. The guy didn't mock him with his age. It's just an adjective.
His style is copied from Stevie Ray Vaughn and BB King
As a teen I would never have believed John would become one of my favorite artists.
Seriously. Now he’s my biggest idol. I love John.
@@morgancoady4943 Same here fellas !! Everytime John makes a solo, it's god speakin' 👌💖
As he pulls the in-ear monitor out….the spirit descended
In ear monitor comes - let’s fucking go
John doing his best early 90’s Clapton… 😎
John > Clapton
Clapton himself put Mayer above him, but let's be honest Clapton is Clapton
You mean his looks? I can see it haha
some nights johnny is really locked in, this is one of those nights
I've listened to this video like 40 times in the last week, so good.
See you have the same amount of likes now ! Cheers 🎉

This version is one my favorites. Pino’s bass makes me want to run through a wall I get so pumped
That tone is magical
One of the greatest guitarists of our generation ❤
I really dug this album. Don't know why there couldn't be more albums like this one

@@whatevereyewant Well, that's genuinely a good explanation, and not an insult, so kudos and thanks!
He is the legend
That little Albert King king bend he does at 5:21 is just perfect
3:35 John scream. Never heard him do that right before a solo. Crazy cool
What a gorgious guitar tone.
Oh so good. John Mayer has it totally going on. Ripped it apart for sure
The TONE of that silver sky ! My goshhh
amazing!!
Who feel is knows it - John Mayer feels it -the man can WRITE as well as play! Classic, Universal wisdom
What puts the folded flag inside a mother’s hand….a belief can. What a most poignant and inspired lyric that probably gets lost in the fantastic musical exhibition. Sheer poetry from one so young.
Jhon Mayer y su guitarra, una fuerza natural.
I think he's ready to be a superstar!!
Now that’s how you play the guitar right there!!! My god John 🔥
A perfect 10 song.
Is this man ever not in the pocket? His licks and runs are insane
That dude in the Marvin Gaye hat played fire man, bro is probably a big fan of Eric Johnson it seems like.

still serving the fuck out of the belief intro
Badass performance

Do we need JOHN’s guitar in the mix? Nah. Wtf?!
0:22 God, teach me how to play like this! I am willing to learn!
What an intro
The lick at 5:29, sheesh!

Townshend is better than Clapton man cmon, most teenage guitarists are better than Clapton
@@TheTGB02 I hope this was an attempt at a joke😂😂
@@arul7467 Exactly my thought... Idiots think Clapton is some average guitarist and songwriter 😐

If hendrix and srv had a son, they'd want it to be jm
And BB King

JC, what is this guitar and this mellow voice? I'm in love. Sending love to all.
How the f*** can he have such hair AND play the guitar like that? seriously wtf god a little more fairness wouldn't have hurt you know
Don’t forget he’s 6’3” and funny too
Bruh, I'm gonna buy that silversky someday, dont care if my wife whoop my ass.
He earned finally enough money for a haircut after this show :p kinda Clapton in this video :p
This man is aging backward.. I can’t fathom the fact that he’s 45+ 🙏🏻
Well this is in 2022, so technically he's like 43ish, but yeah impressive nonetheless.
Who's the man throwing that beautiful guitar line at 3:15?
Isaiah sharkey :D
Heard Albert King influence as well
That outro solo tho 💯

Why does he look like a young Johnny depp lol
