What's up with asking the girl which tongue depressor she wanted and then changing her mind for her after she said she wanted the one with the stripes? Do the designs have different functions?
I watched this to give me ideas for therapy and found it very helpful. I like the idea of using real objects instead of picture cards. I think tongue depressors can seem foreign or intimidating for kids to use, but I like that she was able to pick which one she wanted. Also I think the hand visual for tongue placement is helpful and is something I use in therapy as well.
I am watching this for a graduate level observation assignment of a student in a speech therapy setting. How many times per week did you meet with Alexis? (one of my questions on my observation protocol is about frequency of meetings for therapy)
That was effective but if she is in the isolation level the next level would be the syllable level. The last thing we want is continuous errors at the word level where she is making those errors.

Maybe it was a flavor that kids usually dislike, such as grape, and she didn't want to waste it lol

She will do best with minimal pairs.
So many unique things you can use for therapy. I just posted a video on my career as an SLPA and Speech and language activities to do at home
