Also, great series. I think it will catch fire if you test enough games. You have no clue how long I've waited to see garden scapes (too lazy to try myself or find other RUclipsrs).
Great video. I've downloaded Homescapes (it featured the same guy, but he's renovating a house instead of a garden), and while I like the game, it's nothing like the ad (there are mini-games that look like the ad, but I've come across only two of them in the past five months). I don't think I'll ever download a game again without checking your channel.
Hmm, the ad I saw was a pin-pulling game where you have to pull pins out of tubes in such a way so that stuff drops down and goes through a hole below where a mother and child can catch it. It also shows 2 pictures of that same game right now in their Google Play store profile along with the words "Play minigames!". So I'm wondering if Gardenscapes actually does have it as a minigame, but it's certainly not the main game, so I don't think I'll waste my time trying to find out. Their ads should be banned for false advertising.
@@Inverse_Astor Holup AFK Arena? I have that game and i never get ads from it. I love the game, but if they're resorting to doing this too, i'll be extremely disappointed.
@@adumbchicken8022 I only remember the AFK Arena ads from way back where the minion ran across a map and looted a chest. Haven't seen any AFK Arena ads after installing anymore tbh, but their old ads definitely were kinda misleading, not gonna lie.
Insight: I have friends working in game industry, I ask them why don't they just make those games they advertise if those ads attract so many people to download. They told me a few reasons, one of them was because those games are more complicated to make, and those games earn less money back (less advertisement, less retaining users, less function to encourage in app purchase etc) Not to mention those people who are misled and download the game will increase download traffic and help the company get better ads rates, and even if a very small amount of people stay on to play, that proportion will still be relatively large, some of them will end up spending money to get through levels. So yea, it's all about getting more money with minimum amount of work.
I just wonder why they don't make the title more misleading if that's the route they're gonna take. I mean we see the ads and then we read "Gardenscapes." If you pay attention, the title would make you think "that does not sound like the ad I just watched."
Homescapes, township, fishdom, all by the same company, and all using the same bullshit ads, some of them are intractable and you can attempt the "pick the right choice" puzzle. They are almost as infuriating as the "win real money" apps that are being advertised lately.
Oh my goodness I keep getting these ads, and I want to play the puzzles but it's not the same as the Ad!!! Thanks for doing this service. I fell for gardenscapes:/ and now I have to lookup gameplay videos before downloading. I want to play the hero wars ads so much
I know this is super late but I'm writing this anyway. There's a different version of "Gardenscapes" that's an actually good game and not a Candy Crush clone. That's the original old PC version. It's a "find the hidden objects" game BUT it ranks you on time and efficiency. Clients come in and ask for items and if you don't find them quiclky enough, they'll give you less money for them. There are also bonuses for finding multiple items in quick succession and so on and so forth. On top of that, because the layout of the levels is always the same (but the items to find are randomized) after many many times you played it, you will become accustomed to the various levels and where things are, meaning you will find the requested objects faster AND get more money which will make you progress faster in general. So it's a "fast skill-based find the object" game and the more you play it, the better you can be at it. The mobile version ruined all the good reputation of this game. Now everyone will remember it as the "mobile game with misleading ads" and not the "fast paced finding objects game" that originally was.
Yes I saw ads for this playing another game. Then I saw the title "Gardenscapes" and I went "Hmm...seems a bit misleading." Glad to know I was right to be suspicious. Well, I guess they wouldn't false-advertise if it didn't work.
Thanks for this content. Please make more videos of 'Mobile Ads VS Gameplay'. Also, put all of them on this list for ease of accessibility(your video of HERO WARS: Ad VS Gameplay is not listed here). I suggest making comparisons of lilith games like 'Rise of kingdoms'
The UK Parliament banned the game, that's very good. But we have yet to receive anything from US Congress on updating their false advertising & gambling laws. They remain boomers, too slow to act. And it's not just false advertising, loot boxes remains another issue.
Seems there's been some updates from newer playthroughs that show those puzzles mixed in with the matching tile games now, I wonder if it's enough to change their already tarnished reputation though
This one got me too. I was horrified to find a match game at the center. It's not that I hate match games, I really like "Legendary: Game of Heroes" style gameplay, in fact. Why? Maybe because their ads were actual game demos and were fun to play and not overly misleading.
Lol I saw one ad that was like "I'm tired of all these misleading mobile game ads, so this is the real gameplay" and it showed a completely different puzzle game
Someone should hire some devs, make all the games that you see in those fake adds and market it as “we actually made those games so you can play them”.
hey you! creator! yes! you superteed! thanks for making a rant on gardenscapes! also if you know me im on another account, which is "smoke dogg". yea! you know me! if im on this account and you might know me THANK YOU! btw hoping you have a nice day! also good job on the fishdom ads! and im pretty sure you know its made by the same guy on gardenscapes. also plot twist: there's actually a couple more of these games made by the same creators of gardenscapes + fishdom... so yea that sucks... but we're hoping either: google play, or the creators of gardenscapes and fishdom can remove those ads! have a good day! ;)
I downloaded it based on those pass/fail ads since they made it look like it would be fun and a bit funny. I played for about 2 hours to see if the game would ever be even remotely like the ads, but nope. Just match 3 puzzles with various twists (uncover items by matching or match 3 with a turn limit before you lose) used to earn actions so that you can do stuff to improve the garden and move the story forward. I hate that style of match 3 gameplay, so once I saw that was what the game was going to be, I uninstalled.
The ads show samples of Austin's dreams that present in-game as minigames. They show it to you in the ads as if that's what you do all the time. That's how they got me. Lol. I'm so far in at this point after a year of playing that I might as well finish it. You do meet some interesting characters, though.
Stop giving Candy Crush the credit for creating these match games. They were nowhere near the first. From the wiki: The first of what eventually became known as "match-three" games, where the goal is to create clusters of three or more identical items on a grid, was Shariki (1994).[11] It led directly to the successful Bejeweled (2001), which became a series and inspired similar games including Zoo Keeper (2003), Big Kahuna Reef (2004), Jewel Quest (2004), and Chuzzle (2005).
I feel into the same trap, with Homescapes, which is just like this piece of trash but you are trying to beautify the butler's parents' home. I learned one lesson: humans are too smart to be monetized from with a free-to-play puzzle game like the ads.
The ads look awesome but when I downloaded the game all I was doing was playing this miserable puzzle game trying to win the chance to advance. It was really hard unless you spent a fortune on cheats. So I said fuck it.
This game and Austin the butler look nice, but you’ll soon realise that this is an ordinary money grabbing machine. It’s highly addictive and constantly funnelling you towards the purchase of extra lives and boosters. Amounts from 1 to 79 euro, and you will need these purchases to complete the ever more complicated levels. One advise: protect yourself and don’t start….

Where i found this AD?
Im happy to see there is a community who is also appalled by this psychological betrayal
Yes finally someone to crack down on this false advertising crap thank god
False advertisement. 7 million downloads but how many uninstalls? 😂
Hahaha ya thats right
7,000,001
8 millions uninstalls
It's 7 million reviews but 100 mllion downloads

You're thinking of the Hero Wars ads and yes those ads were fake too
Really they are going crazy with their ads I really hate them
You can tell these ads are all made by the same person sometimes. That second ad is way too similar to the things produced by AFK Arena.
Even then, the ads that game has are on a whole different level most of the time.
@@Inverse_Astor Holup AFK Arena? I have that game and i never get ads from it. I love the game, but if they're resorting to doing this too, i'll be extremely disappointed.

Fishdom and Homescapes is my best
Haha I played gardenscapes and as a Candy Crush, it’s not a bad game but man, the ads are just such a lie.

I play Gardenscapes sometimes in my tab. It's enjoying at first but gets frustrating & boring later on.

Thanks for making such videos. This terrible lie should be enlighted.

I can't believe how blatant the false advertising for these games is.
I liked this game along time ago but I once the ads became trash
Why choose greed over quality..gardenerscape taking away so many moves takes money to win. Ruins any sense of accomplishment or fair play.
Hey is there any games which have puzzles like hero wars adds
archero has this type of ads too :) i saw them on ig
I played this game liked it, then saw this video me after watching: screw you gardenscapes
