Oppo Find N2 Review: The lightest foldable needs an international release!

- The Oppo Find N2 is a refinement over the original Find N, with a slightly thinner build and significantly lighter weight. In fact, at 233g, it is the lightest large foldable around.
it is only so in China for now, but Oppo says it is open to launching internationally. if you want to see this release outside of China you have to let them know!
I wanted the Find N and now with the upgrade N2 I so want this phone more! No release in the UK is a big shame! Oppo should do an international release ASAP this phone will sell so well due to its size its perfect!! 7 years on iPhone and I would move to this phone and Android in a heartbeat!!
Well you can import it...the foldable market is still not a huge one and BBK brands are particularly known to not launch their product in a market where the product gets undermined( the same as apple)
I swore I would never get a foldable took a risk , and got a oppo find n with Google apps installed best ever phone I have had and believe me I change my phone's like my underwear! Great video Ben finger on the pulse of tech as usual keep it up!
I am having the Find N (1) since a year. And i love it. Best format ever. Its that handy, fit's in any pocket, feels great in your hand...
Battery runs easily 2 days, as mostly only use small front screen. I would never again buy one of these other long barrel phones again...
OPPO, please launch it globally!
The smaller form factor does have its appeal! It would have been more so, if it were thinner when folded 👌.
Overall a great foldable from Opportunity! The gesture options are very helpful and intuitive. It's also got a, capable camera setup, if not the best.
Great review and this should get a, global release!👍
Keep up the good work Sir Ben✌✌
Can we all just admire the fact that Ben released 4 new phone video within a week & every phone is interesting!
This is crazy how fast you get access to the phone huge job congrat
Ben delivering again. I love my ZF4, but wouldn't mind this form factor. Keep up the good work.
This and the N2 flip are just marvelous...
Love this video! I used to live in Tokyo and base my phone purchases on which cities I'll be in for the year. imo, the taller foldable phones are better to use on Tokyo Metro since they're easier to hold while folded. I like the Find N2 for smaller cities where I'll likely just have the phone in my pocket listening to something or sitting down with it unfolded
Love the hardware just like I did last year's but for those of us in the West, particularly the US, I think our only viable hope of a Z Fold competitor is a Pixel Fold. Oppo and Xiaomi phones still use a very heavy skin and I prefer Google's version of Android on Pixel devices. Also the rumored size is very similar to the Find N series than the Z Fold so I'm hoping for some more concrete info on it in the new year. Thanks Ben as always for another excellent video. I hope you also have the Find N Flip you're taking too, really interested in seeing that large outer display.
Nah, you can always uninstall the bloatware apps , its just a matter of getting used to , for me the android in pixel phones is just different (even boring for my taste), the os in the other brands has NOTHING to do with the performance , as a matter of fact you will get much more performance in this other brands at a much competive price
@@gregyance9901 I understand this and I made no mention of rival OS skin performance versus Google's on a Pixel but as I stated I prefer Google's particularly that all Google apps which I use mostly all of them are much better designed to work on a Pixel than other brands. I also use a lot of the call screening and spam features exclusive to Pixels so it's not something I'd give up for another brand this is why for me a Pixel Fold is the only foldable I'd consider. I'm also excited to see the 12L features like the dock and split screen and app spanning running on a Pixel device that takes advantage of the extra screen real estate.
@@ArthurZakaryan23 Just use an launcher if you don't like the look of ColorOS. Unlike MiUI, ColorOS does let you use a launcher. Also trust it, the skin isn't as heavy as it used to be. They started making the skin lighter since the days of ColorOS 7 on find X2 pro.
But yeah, Z fold 4 is the way to go because it's optimised better for Social media apps(if that's your priority).
Imagine having a fold phone with headphone jack, sd card slot And a pen slot. It would be a multimedia powerhouse for me.
hmm.. you just described the lg v60
Or wait for Sony to come out with an Xperia fold
@@gabegabe1 not really. V60 is dual screen type, not a foldable screen. And I don't reckon they have any pen slot
Headphone jack?? Dude we are in 22/23!!! Not 2016, go wireless or go home! Welcome to the future lol 😆 😄 🫨🤳🏽
@@HOVA2195 ur future has latency and sound quality is still sh*tty asf and then yea the battery
Thank you for highlighting these devices for us.
Gets me excited for pixel fold. Hope there's progress optimising apps for this wide aspect ratio
ur the best man .. ur reviews r alway fastest den rest .. greetings fro use
The Find N2 is really cute, and it does pack a lot of features in it. It totally deserves its own category of foldable
Great in-depth review of this new foldable phone. Previously I used oppo find7 however the firmware update is quite limited and find many bugs..I hope oppo has beefed up their firmware team and provide consistent updates like apple or Samsung. Anyway kudos to oppo for not following the competitors to come up with a smaller form factor foldable..
Find 7 is a really old phone bro. At that time every Chinese OEM was like that. They made a full package with good looks but pooped when it came to updates.
It's no more like that. Oppo provides timely updates now, except on their entry level A-series which tbh is their worst line up. The update timeline is not as long as Samsung but nowadays as we know Android version doesn't matter much, the security patches do.
Nice review as always.
Huge love from Africa, Sierra Leone 🇸🇱🇸🇱🫂
The cameras look incredible 👍🏾
FindN2 actually has OPPO Pen support 🙂🙂
It would be great to see a comparaison between Oppo Find N2, Xiaimi Mi Mix Fold 2, Samsung Z Fold 4 and Honor Magic VS. Thank you for your hard work! 😊
At this point, I can lose sleep if Ben is pumping these videos out
The camera samples look decent. Not excellent, but good enough for photos that you can just snap and go. I'm still not exactly sold with foldables, but they are definitely unique.
Just stfu an get a foldable phone 😆 trust me bro it's like having a two wheels instead of one 😉
Considering a foldable phone the camera is just below the Vivo X-fold.
I am still with their Rollable phone concept which they showed last year . They should've pursued that in my opinion.
@@dragonforcegaming7555 That's true, that was really unique, and if they could pull it off it'd generate a lot of hype for Oppo.
superb...will add into my foldable phones collection
That small build actually makes it look sturdy. I like the smaller size
What a hectic week it has been for you. Awesome work, Ben!
This is one of the (very few) foldable phones that do not seem to sacrifice quality in the camera sector.
You make me import way too many phones from China. Amazing review as always.
This is the phone that us multitaskers needs
The versatility and all the things you could do with this
the most hardworking youtuber....one man army
Very much true.. and I really appreciate guy like this so much more... Until sometime last year I used to watch guys like Mr Whosetheboss, MKBHD Linus.. and yes, very pro quality.. basically, a production crew with anchor, showrunner or whatever you call it... they all were great when starting out, and maybe until the first million subscribers.. after this, many can tell you that some videos feel very sponsored and biased.. or just rehashing same old info you can find on GSMarena, but hey you get studio lighting, cool and fun guy saying it, with some humor , yeah? But only guys like Ben really you can see them in action, doing bits, comparing devices, testing out..
I have been waiting and waiting for this release. I am so so sad I can't get it in the US!!
I've been dreaming About N2 since N1
I'm really tempted to get this phone when globally released tomorrow....
I prefer this SO much more than Samsung. Really hope they release internationally eventually.
Can't wait to see more reviews of the vivo x90 pro plus🙏
Truly agree i believe this Oppo need to have an international release..
The small form factor , really attractive as compare to the competitors Samsung folder.
From the video , felt that Oppo just the right size of your palm
Okey, finally phone I've been looking forward to! I'm an iphone user looking to switch my old iphone. This device doesn't dissapoint. I like the form factor. Yeah its bulky, but its light, that's more important. Improved hinge - good, love it. Case - super. Camera. Camera colorscience is good. Shakiness should be fixed by a firmware update. Telephoto lens doesn't bother me too much. I'm okay with not being able to photo planes, moon, spaceships. But when you zoom the aperture changes and the video darkens - thats bad. Overall the phone didn't dissapoint. For the good price, I'd buy it. For the next release, I'd love to see better telephoto, slimmer design. Personally, I'd wait 2 gens for water resistance, doesn't bother me. What I'm qurious about is performance under low temperatures like -10 to -20 degrees celsius. Oh yeah - youtube horizontal should be fixed in update, thats important.
The video from the ultrawide camera looks great.
Must be come globally.
Thank you
👍👍👍👍
I like the size n looking forward to use it
We need this in Europe!!! Competition for Samsung and Microsoft surface duo. The size is perfect.
5:20 you can force to resize any app in developer options.
Best foldable form factor. Writing this on a fold 3
Soooo tempting. I'm still using a Realme X2 pro and looking for a replacement. Been using China ROM too eventhough I thought I bought a global version one. Sigh. Now I'm continuing to wait. Hoping that this has a global rom. Waiting for international OPPO Find N2 vs Google Pixel Fold.
Gorgeous device , I'll buy it instead of a samsung or apple device for sure
Imagine one day we will have foldables with the camera systems of like the 12s Ultra
Please let Oppo know for us here in USA that we would love to have an opportunity to play with this fine device.
I used to have the find N but I had to sell it because I was missing most of the notifications despite I was enabling these apps to run in background
Very good video thank you very much for great information.
when I saw the first oppo FindN I said this one is my next phone but never got the chance to buy it
OPPO did it again, its lighter & this time with a leather back✊🏿great job
When will they make an announcement that they will release goble if they do?
When will it available in India?
bro, u tested more phones than other youtubers (american/europe). i think you should make better choice for best smartphones 2022 video. their choice is main pixel, samsung and iphones only. i felt in your opinion u tested more phones than them, so it be nice to have your best smartphone 2022 review as well.
*just a suggestion
Will that be available in the US Ben. Thanks a lot!
Do a comparison with this one and the Xiaomi fold 2
Most beautiful foldable phone.
I like that the small screen is not so tall. 16:9 to 18:9 aspect ratio is the best for me.
How about quality and loudness from speakers?
They need to bring this over to the states
How is the plastic leather back on it? Is it too easy to scratch or too weak?
My dream 5" foldable phone ❤️
Does this phone can selfie with back camera?
Hi there,,,how can i buy this device ? Do u know a site that ships internationally
Hello Ben, thanks for your video. Only have a question ....In this phone when you put google apps with the CHINA ROM. works well or they gave issues...?
thanks for all
Yes can install Google fine. You have to whitelist some apps to ensure notifications come thru though
I got a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and love it, had it for 2 years and its great. But some times it feels a bit too big in the pocket and I could see my self trying the Oppo find N, it could be a good size. But i love in Europe, I hope it comes here at some point at least😊👍
They aren't planning to sell it outside of China because the Foldable market is still a very small one, not much profit for them. They will earn more by selling it in China.
However they might release their find N2 flip globally.
If you do want this phone then I will suggest you to import it from China. It will have the Chinese ROM ofc, so no Google feeds(but will have Google services, you will need to side-load the apps). Then you can run the phone without any issues. Or if you are a techy person, then you can boot the Global version of the ROM when Oppo releases it.
Did you also experience the screen turning black when reacting to messages on messenger with this phone?
Where i can find the global version in the world 😢?????
Hello Ben
What is the agenda widget that you use, please?
yes, N2 come to Amsterdam
I want in the U.S.!
I am using the find n 1, its awesome. However, did you get the WhatsApp bug where the notification is hidden sometimes?
Is the camera superior to the Oppo X5 Find Pro??
How to enable that green step tracker widget? It would be really helpful as I'm not able to find it again
Amazing wallpaper. Can you please share the link. Thanks
Hi Ben,
I've been waiting long, if you could feature a video for Xiaomi 13 pro models, indepth camera reviews.
Thank you 😊
The find 2 look good I want one is the phone coming to the u s
apparently you can buy it with google play on it. the biggest downsides for me are the lack of water resistance and wireless charging
It has wireless charging. No need to worry about that.
And regarding water resistance, it doesn't has an official IP rating(cause that requires a good amount of money and it's a loss for them as they aren't selling it out of China) but they do tests to make sure it's water resistant up to a certain degree. Consider it as IP 54.
Does the global version have android auto ?
Does it fast connect/pair with the Pixel Watch?
sooo this phone only available in china? man this looks neat
Does it last longer than a year?
As a Galaxy Fold 4 user I really like the look of this form factor. I find the Fold cover screen too tall and narrow.
Do Google Messages work on the phone without the system forcing you back to the stock one? I'm assuming Android Auto doesn't work.
Do you know if this is gonna come to the US???
Thanks for the great video! The Oppo Find N is such a strange device to me... it's almost like a middle ground between a Fold and a Flip... as someone who used it, how does it compare to a Samsung Fold? Is the internal screen large enough to be used as a small tablet or are you left with two screens that are both not quite big enough?
Im buying it no doubt
Greetings from Brazil.
You will review the Oppo Flip?
I was actually about to ask if you're using an external microphone because that audio is really good.
I'll say this is a great phone overall although I'm not really a fan of foldables. The sd8 gen1 is more than enough since I don't think I would want to use this for gaming. Well actually I think it would be great when unfolded.
The camera is great as always, but I'd still prefer something with a good zoom/periscope.😀
Vivo X fold on list ✌️
Hi Ben. As usual an amazing Review mate.
According to you which fold would you pick given a choice between Oppo find N2 vs Vivo X Fold + vs Xioami Mix Fold 2
Honor Magic vs
@@rolins3279 Its a good phone, but only has 2x zoom if i am not wrong
PERFECT SIZE! That's it! Awesome!
I think this phone should be launched in Africa man! Particularly in Kenya, it's worth having.
Hey Ben, was trying to reach out to you on telegram to claim my price and am sorry, i couldnt verify if it's genuinely you... Kindly revert back, if possible thank you.
Amazing review. Thanks for the content 👌
Oppo is caught in a weird situation with international support.
My oppo Find X5 Pro I bought from UK amazon came with colorOS 12 and it self updated OTA to 12.1 and then to 13 a few days later (here in Canada).
I ordered a replacement since this one was not getting 5G here, I was stuck on 4G+
The second phone comes and was stuck on colorOS 12 with no OTA updates for weeks until I downloaded the OPPO update tool and connected it to my PC, then it updated to 13 but still no 5G and had a bunch of software bugs. I ordered a third replacement thinking I was sent a fake because the box looked beat up and the phone scratched. The third phone arrives and again no OTA updates to get ColorOS 13 but this time the OPPO PC app didn't even update the phone, it was just stuck on ColorOS 12 not even 12.1... so it got worse.
Mind you OPPO has three updates to colorOS 13, build number ending in C.35, C.37, and C.39
Both OPPO phones that got colorOS 13 were on 13 build number C.37 and none of them were running 5G in Canada and has a major problem with post processing on the front facing camera, bad battery life, finger print sensor was slow and unreliable, phone was freezing, etc.
On XDA developers forum I was advised to use a VPN set to France to get the OTA update build number C.39 because that was released for Germany and France and was the latest version. No mention of bug fixes or anything but I tried it anyways as a last ditch effort.
I did that and got a huge update (2.45GB compared to updating to build C.37 which was 1.7GB) to the latest build of colorOS 13 build C.39 and what do you know... I have 5G now. The front facing camera is fixed, the quick settings in the notification shade are different with the music playback toggle gone, the phone has better battery life by 30% in my daily life, but there are a couple issues with the finger print sensor being slow still.
So OPPO is not doing well with international versions software updates. Without a VPN I would've had to return this phone and assume OPPO didn't get 5G in Canada when it actually does as well as all the other software issues I would've assumed were just OPPO's laziness in not fixing when actually there was a fix all along but only for 2 countries in the world... Most people are stuck on android 12 too because the updates just don't show up like I mentioned before happening to me with three identical phones in the same location with 1 getting an OTA update to android 13 and the other stuck on Android 12 and you need to use the OPPO update PC app that was tricky to find a link for and the third not getting an update at all period even with the PC application.
So OPPO... you make great stuff but if you are worried about making international versions of this foldable phone, I personally think it's because you know how scattered your service is globally for software.
Improve please, the hardware is amazing but the world deserves the latest software and bug fixes not just Germany and France...
How is the compass using google maps does it show the direction you are facing correctly? because all the Samsung phones i have S22 Ultra compass just sucks vs iphone
what about text? does it still make you use the stock one like the last Find N? or can you pick your own?
How is the bloatware on this beauty? Is there any?
A little bit of bloat but most u can hide in folders, but there are a few apps you can uninstall. You could always remove them through adb as well.
This gives me hope for OnePlus Fold
In love oppo n2
I have a ZFold4, and while I absolutely love this phone, I am not blind for its shortcomings. For one , it's too tall and the screen isn't wide enough. I think this Oppo N2 has done this better. Also, it's a bit too heavy. Ok, so this phone is only 30 grams lighter, but I would take it, because with the casing my Samsung phone is 331 grams and that's just too heavy and makes it clunky. So yes, I do love foldable phones, but there still is a lot of room for improvement.
Dude you are the best👌🏻
