TLDR: the weight of the shoes help you balance My math might be off, but resin is pretty heavy. It looks like she used about 700 mLs or so for each foot. That's roughly 3 pounds of just hoof between both feet. Normally, the center of mass on a person is around waist/pelvis, about halfway through the person. The center of mass is basically where your body naturally wants to balance. Those 3 pounds shift the center of mass forward, probably closer to the ball of the foot. How much it helps you balance probably depends on how much you weigh to begin with and where exactly your center of mass is beforehand(like if you're pregnant and are carrying weight around your stomach, your center of mass is pushed forward). It's also why nothing needs to support the heel when she's painting them-because the center of mass is underneath the heel. It also means walking would be pretty hard because those heels weigh roughly the same as heavy-duty construction boots without any of the ankle or foot support which would put a lot of strain on your lower calves pretty fast.

For clarification. Centaurs are human upper body and a horse torso, and 4 legs. A centaur (or in Roman terms a faun) Is a human with 2 goat legs and goat horns.
@@ryuugaeisen8946 i dont know if this applies to every hoof heel, but the ones i ordered have grippy bottoms made from black hot glue to help grip the ground better, and i even tested trying to shift my weigh to the back of my heel and for the most part the shoes will stop you, you have to really be trying to fall backwards, HOWEVER running is a different story. Do NOT run on asphalt 😭

It is hard to walk on your toes. The version shown here is purely festive, they are only practical and comfortable to sit in. For more practical shoes that will relieve your Achilles tendon, you need a different design that will fix the angle between your foot and shin. And by the way, it exists, although it does not look as miniature and elegant.
I'm sure it is more difficult and like most heels not ideal for long time wear but a lot of heels in general kinda force u to put most of the weight on the balls of our feet bc of how their designed. I'd assumed it's very similar to walking in platform heels just a bit nerve racking that there isn't the extra support
I own a pair from Chaos Costumes; I really think it depends on how accustomed you are wearing heels at all. I think I lasted 45 minutes before I had to sit down for my first break. I wore then altogether for 8 hours but took frequent rests as my pain focused right above my toes.
My mother used to wear the heeless heels all the time. Not these, but the ones that got popular in the 2010s. She said they were actually a lot more comfortable than regular heels. Never tried myself though.

Heeless shoes are designed to be sturdier than regular heels because the support has to come from the arch of the foot without the heel there. The person in the short probably has to be on their tiptoes while wearing those to stop their foot from falling. Unless they did something offscreen that could keep the shoe from collapsing. 🤔

I've got a pair, and once you get a bit more used to them you sort of figure out how to balance your weight forward (bend your knees and arch your lower back a little like you've got a tail, that helps a lot). I also wear ankle braces under the tights for added support so I'm less likely to roll an ankle I can comfortably wear them for about an hour before I need to sit down and rest for a bit
