I am covering amazing and unique knots as well as traditional knots. If you're a man, and you probably are if you're reading this, the odds that you will one day have to ironically wrap a tie around your neck are really high. Like, sky high. It might be for a job interview or for your own wedding, and you'd do well to put one on at the funeral.
If you are Beginner, don't worry. I will help you with my step by step tutorials on how to tie these amazing, new and fun ways to tie a tie.

Love the tie. Love the instructions. Love your videos.
One thing. "Ruche" is pronounced "roosh"; or "ruched", "rooshed".
I love the fact that youtube is also filled with reliable gentlemen like you. Thanks to teaching me the lost art of the ascot tie.
I'm currently working on a display for Levi. He wears an ascot and this is the perfect tutorial for it. Thank you x
SkyeandDamhnait You're most welcome. I'd love to see a picture of your display on instagram or facebok.

Helo Mr Novotny!!!First of all I love all your videos about neck tie knots!!! And I want to ask you a favor!! In the movie Matrix Revolutions, when Neo is in the subway station, is he wearing an ascot or a tie and which knot is it? Can you do a video about it? Second, The Merovingian at the club is wearin a red tie , which knot does he have? is it the glennie or the hourglass? or a variation? Can you look for it and make a video about it? I know i ask a lot but thank you for taking the time to answer your fans!!!
Jesus Alvarez Awesome question btw. #1 ruclips.net/video/r2BhvpJ9zRE/видео.html If this is what you are referring to I don't see anything except for the chain he's wearing across his collar. Let me know if we are looking at the same thing. #2 When the Merovingian, wearing a red shirt and red tie, I have seen it referred to as the Merovingian Wrap which I would confirm your suspicion of be a Glennie Double Tier or something built just like it. I'll have a closer look of all the knots and see if I can replicate the same look with what I already have. #3 Fans: I still think it's crazy that I have them and people like what I do which makes me love doing this all the more. Thanks for watching Jesus.
Can I wear an ascot without that vest, only with suit shirt and a classic suit jacket with long sleeves? Or is it a rule to wear it with this suit vest?
And second question, can I wear it just with suit shirt? Without suit vest and without suit jacket?
By the way thanks a lot for amazing tutorial.
HermanHermes You can wear an ascot with just a shirt. That's pretty normal. 2nd. I think you can wear a cravat tied with a barrel knot for example without a vest, but I still have to get myself more educated with wearing different knots and styles when it comes to this type of neck wear. I mostly see cravats or ascots worn with vests or buttoned up jackets. I hope to cover this topic in the near future in great detail. Thanks for the great questions and thank you for watching.
If your going to wear an ascot without a vest you will be better wearing it inside your shirt with an ascot fold. Tucks inside your shirt with your top two buttons undone.
Awesome tutorial! One question though... what exactly kind of tie is that you're using? Is that a scarf of some sort?
Thanks. I'm using an ascot. You can also use a traditional cravat if you can find one. You could use a silk scarf that is 4' wide and about 60' long. Ascots & Cravats will be available in the future at my store www.tieaficionado.com
Patrick Novotny Thank ya sir.
Thank you for this tutorial. This was very helpful. I had been looking for a tutorial on how to tie an ascot for my Levi Ackerman cosplay on Instagram and Facebook. Again, thank you, this helped greatly.
+Kiki Kangaroo You are very welcome. I'll try to find you right now.
+Kiki Kangaroo What is your username?
When did Levi wear an Ascot? I know the Scouts wear a Bolo tie.
Cool! Which occasion is the most appropriate to use this knot? :D
Traditionally it's worn for weddings and mid day formal events such as wine tasting, horse races, polo matches, whiskey fest. I think a safe bet if it's a social event where men would normally wear a tie and you feel like you want to over dress a little then the ascot is am appropriate choice. As I'm known for wearing unusual knots I plan on wearing this or variation thereof to several Christmas parties this year ;)
is this ok for evening wear?
+Dodger Oh yeah!
Bravo and thank you for this. All your vids are excellent.
John O'Neil It's my pleasure and you are most welcome Sir. Take care and Merry Christmas.
Where can I buy a good ascot like this on the internet?
Thalles Colares My Grandma sent this one from the U.K. and I have but some of of Etsy but none have been good quality. If I was looking for to buy one right now I would look at would check out Cravat-Club.com as I expect very good quality from them given the cost. Tieaficionado.com Is scheduled to carry them in stock in the new year.
Patrick Novotny Thank you very much ! I will look for it on those web sites and also here in the UK. :)
Where did you purchase this Cravat?
+Eric Steele This was a gift from Grandma in Hastings, Great Britain.
+Patrick Novotny (The Tie Guy) Ah. Very good. Where would you be able to purchase a cravat with such quality?
+Eric Steele I have one from CravatClub.com that I'm very happy with.
I tie an ascot tie to work.
