Any occupying military force that wishes to conqueror an area will do well to avoid these things, but if you are desperate, then using them will result in a no-man's-land that will slow down the opposing forces.

the problem with sentry guns irl is that they will have only a certain range since an infrared, or a regular camera can only see so far (making them easy pickings for rpg's) they need maintainence (like all machinery and guns) take a long long time to set up they can't distinguish between friend and foe and they're stationary so they need long range support, like artillery something to constantly fix them up a while to set up something to distinguish friendly from enemy soldiers and they still can't move and at that point it's not really worth making them anymore cuz regular infantry can do all that, and they can also push back all for less time, money and manpower than it would take to place a sentry

So the big brain Marines testing the devices successfully stealth passed these things using classic maneuvers such as, somersaults, rolling along the ground, holding branches out in front, hiding under a cardboard box, walking backwards, and many other things. We are about a hundred years out from an AI that can correctly identify you if you wear a fake mustache so it cannot find your picture in the database.
You could have literally beaten Greg tech in that time, but I’d definitely go with headshot immunity, because I main medic and pyro, and pyro is almost immune to the other anyway

Casual games have a very different skill curve than what people generally predict. Tf2 is the game I turn my brain off for; I'm a god with a pocket medic but I never position or really even think well enough to do good as any class but heavy and soldier. I used to name myself 'engieboy6000' because I thought engie was cool, but I changed it when I realized 75% of my playtime as him was when I was like 12... it certainly didn't help that I lived to see Bethesda go from being a kinda scuffed but well intentioned studio to an outdated studio with outdated practices and extremely predatory marketing.
