I met Mr. Landry in 1975. I was at my cousins' (Bob Lilly) retirement party. It was the night before Bob's retirement ceremony at Texas Stadium. It was a party for the Cowboys alumni. I was 16 at the time. Tom and a few alumni were in an adjoining room watching old game films. I came in, sat on one of the folding chairs and watched the screen. What I saw amazed me! It was Mr. Landry jumping up and down on the sidelines! You NEVER saw that on TV! It was like watching John Madden in Landry's body! LOL I turned and asked Mr. Landry why we never saw him do that on TV. All we saw was the calm, well-dressed man. He said that's just the way the media portrayed him....calm. That was a "wow" moment for me.

I'll never forget I was 15 years old when Jerry fired Tom Landry man I cried and I threw all my Cowboys stuff away. Wherever Tom Landry would've gone they would've been my favorite team. Landry is the Dallas Cowboys, I only went back to being a Cowboy fan when Landry was inducted into the Ring of Honor.. RIP Mr Landry!!

When Bum Bright sold the Cowboys to Jerry Jones it was like a slap in the face for the loyal cowboys fans.. I never fadom this would ever happen to the Dallas Cowboys.

Herschel Walker trade didn't hurt either. That was Jimmy only trading chip worth any value. That is what jump started those super bowl runs.

This was a great talk by one very classy man. Bob Lilly is the epitome of a HOF player.

Looking back when I was young kid watching these guys play every Sunday. I thought these guys were bigger than life. Watching the NFL now just doesn't measure up to those 70's Cowboys teams. You bonded with the players because they came back every year. Now with new CBA they players move every year. Just not the same.
