Hey MrProject TSE, Thank you for posting this. You have just solved the weirdest problem I have encountered. Brilliant. Very niche tool but very useful for me. Thanks.

I made a similar thing with my soldering iron today. I thought to my self that i was the forst person to come up with this modification and then i saw your video. Little did i know you were 4 years ahead.🤣

I would have bought a washer from a hardware store, ends up with a smoother surface and heats up just as fine I would think?

Thanks for showing me what not to do! Hand tools would be safer i.e. hacksaw & file & I would drill & tape before cutting it to size. Your welcome!

And if you don't have a masdive workshop, hundreds of dollars worth of equipment and lots of time on your hands, you can just use a household clothes iron with a paper barrier between the plastic and the iron

Wow...a lot of work there. Would have been easier to use an existing iron tip,and use a ready made washer as a wheel ? Great concept though.

Why did you not start from a piece cut from a round rod, so you could have saved time?.
Everyone on youtube thinks they've just invented the wheel.

For the amount of time and specialty tools this project takes, you could order one on Amazon and it would get here sooner.

I could literally make a simpler, comparable tool in 10 mins. This is terribly complicated.
