a friend of mine approached me and asked if i would sing this as a duet with her for a concert. little did she know what i was going through at this time in my life. in the duration of practicing this i also had countless experiences of faith. everyday that i had the opportunity - i practiced this song. not long after did i realize that it is a prayer that is rendered in moments when (like i did) you feel lost, you aren't sure of your place in life, and you loose focus of what is important. the flip side of this song is that it gifts us with a prayer of thanks - for keeping us above the water of our circumstances, that we can experience what it is like to be spirit lead, and always being found worthy enough to be in the presence of Jesus. today - i would like you to see this song as a prayer if you have not yet.... and in the event that you have come to realize it, i would like you to sing your prayer. sing your prayer! sing it in your moments of happiness, peace, and joy. sing in it your moments of sadness, and pain. sing it in your moments of weariness, doubt, and confusion. sing it out loud - and just like a prayer he will answer you, he will guide your path, and your joy despite how you may feel will always come from him. 💗

I cry everytime I sing this, not bc I feel his spirit, but bc I don’t. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Why can’t he see me? Why won’t he help me?
This is literally me right now. To be fair, I haven’t been doing my part by praying or worshipping or reading often. But every time I start again I feel nothing and it’s very demotivating. It’s been this way for months, but singing this song is the first time a felt a deep frustration that I don’t feel his presence. It’s the first time I’ve really been begging and yearning for it. My life lately hasn’t been bad, but I just miss Him. It takes a lot of hard for us to admit this to ourselves, but it takes a lot of strength so I’m proud of us. I hope we can both feel His presence sometime soon
