I put in the steel fiber i80 recently and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Anyone that has wrist/hand problems and would like stable and better pop at impact, these are for you.
Howard from the UK another good video. 1 - do you play? 2 - have you ever built your own set of golf clubs? 3 - if you have why the head the shaft the grip would be a great to know.
yes about once a week although I am not the sturdy as golfers found in the UK. yes the mizunos irons in the bag I did. and the wilson wedges. I actually stumbled onto them during reviews of the equipment. Fitters are the worst fitees
Love your content. As one who does as much of my own work as I can I really like your attention to detail. When I re shaft a club I don't reuse the grip. (I have no good way to remove or clean out the old grip.
Thanks McGolf another terrific video. I'm watching a lot of these from home in Sydney, Australia. I have started to build a few sets in my home shed, mostly using hand tools. Could you talk about the challenges faced by cutting shafts by hand and finishing ferrules by hand etc. I suspect a lot of us don't have the amazing workshop you do. Thanks again, and please keep up the great videos, James
Jim, when flo'ing the shaft, could you show one that is wobbly before you adjust it to the point of a smooth oscillation? Interested in seeing how much some these shafts wobble before finding the sweet spot. Thanks for another boxes to builds!
Haven’t scoured your channel yet. Love what I see. Do you have a video of the spine alignment and differences in orientation? Can you talk about going from lightest grip to heaviest for your build? Thanks.
Question about Flo. Imagine your laser line is perfectly straight, but not 12-6 o'clock but 1-7 o'clock. Is this still acceptable or does it have to be 12-6 o'clock? Of course the Shaft was started straight up/down.
Can you show what to do with the swing weighting? The heads were probably previously shafted with let’s say with a 115 to possibly a 120gm shaft. Now you’re installing an 80gm shaft in the heads.
Will discuss into the next build, however I will say if you are inserting lighter shafts the expectation should be that the SW will be lighter. The feel will be WAY different getting to the original swing weight
Nice video, as always Jim. With the PW being a Vokey 46, which I assume is a heavier raw weight than the T100 PW ? Can you go thru the Swing Weight issues on the identical build. Also after Spining the Steel Fibers how did the labels work out. Tnx Chris
Hey McGolf if i buy a Used putter and its too short can i just stick a longer shaft in there or does it have to be professionally weighted and balanced installed.
Love the dog. Looks sweet. Great to work with your pup.
Excellent 👍 These Titleists look class with the steelfiber shafts and Z Grips.
🤣

Detail second to none as always, Jim! I am going to adopt your gripping process- I've been guilty of having tape sticking out past my grips.
Wow, absolute craftsman. Pleasure to watch, keep up the great work 👍🏻

Beautiful clubs! Great build Jim! 👍

You make it look so easy but I know better lol thank you Mr Mcgolf

yes you are good.

Second this. Interesting to see how work through swing weight issues with the light graphite shafts
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Do you build to length w/o grip or end-of-grip? How much would you account for with a butt cap, 1/8 inch?
I do both. Depending on the request.
Great video Jim. Just wanted to ask what position you align the spine.
I put it at 12 oclock
Great build. Have you ever heard of Tiger stepping? If so what is it? Cheers.
No I have not but it is probably 2-4 hard steps based on his early swings
Did you put a golf ball through your door? LOL
actually it was a golf club. from the fitting room
Hey McGolf if i buy a Used putter and its too short can i just stick a longer shaft in there or does it have to be professionally weighted and balanced installed.
Depending on the amount to make longer you may be able to extend the putter. if it needs extended extensively then yes just reshaft it.
Can you tip a tapered graphite shaft a small amount, 1/4 inch at the most.
you could but it will not insert any deeper. the taper portion of the shaft is the bottom 3/8"
Thank you 👍
Can Wilson d300 irons be bent for lie angle?
Did I miss you adding weight inside the shaft?
no, I did not I put on a shim
@@McGolf are tip weights the same as shims?
