Is it just me or does it feel a little to late that we didnt get this godzilla variant with the rest of the kotm line. Im still gonna buy it anyways its a standard 2019 godzilla

This figure is so….strange. Like on one hand, the fact that it lacks paint should automatically mean it’s a bad figure….and yet surprisingly work extremely well for this figure. It’s not exactly movie accurate, but until 2024 Legendary Goji’s colors were pretty muted minus a few lighting angles. And since this is based on the 2019 version which, let’s be honest had an awful lighting, so it the fact that this figure lacks paint application is actually just fine. With that said, if this figure had more movie accurate color scheme, it would’ve been among Bandai’s best figures..
For once, Bandai's lack of paint is actually justified. Though I do agree, some of that Minus One coloring on at least the front of the figure could've made this thing a surprise list buster this year. But the fact that it's kinda cookin' with what it has is... strange and unusually festive.
They're based In the US, so they do see some delay between Japanese street date to US. So you wont get things directly at release, but they're much friendlier than most import shipping prices lol
As much as I love the blue colored dorsal plates, I really wanted a normal version of this toy. So much so that I bought two of the original release with the intent of removing the blue from one of them, though I never got around to it. Glad to see this finally came out, though I don't understand why it took five years to release it when the unpainted mold could've been in the market sooner, it's not like Godzilla's design changed at all until halfway through GxK.
I was expecting something like this for GvK, since It's Bandai and it's Godzilla. Surprised to see its taken this long lol Like -- ZERO new major/wide release of a Godzilla for a new movie (GvK) in their Major vinyl figure line? Very un-Bandai of Bandai.
Great now if only they can remake the Ghidorah 2019 into a film accurate one, a Rodan 2019 with a better pose and a New Empire Mothra (better paint than the original 2019)
@ShinRobjira I have this already, sorta. So even though I could just repaint his spines, I thought screw it I'll finish the one I have and get the Shin Godzilla one. Mostly for the fact that I don't have an official... well I kinda do. I bought Him custom painted from Ebay.
Y'know, as much I love variants and unecessary variants, I do like a simple clean MV'Godzilla toy, so I'll say a hot take, I think I like this Godzilla'19 figure more than the original.
