    thankyou so much, my english teacher spent the entire lesson analysing the "drums" we see in scene 3 instead of actually analysing the whole scene. This was really helpful

      Haha. Crime and Punishment deals with this question, too. Raskolnikov is a Macbethian character. Know thyself, the wise ones wisely warn.
