    As someone who wholeheartedly disagrees with Ms Thatcher on many of her views and policies, I must tip my hat. They don't call her the Iron Lady for nothing. I can respect her as a person. The way she picked off her opponents one by one, taking them out back to the firing squad, the way she outlasted the trade unions. That took balls, balls of steel. She set the bar for females in politics and no one has matched her since. The fact that people compare Clinton and Gillard to her is an insult. These women play the 'sexism card' every opportunity they had. Ms Thatcher wasn't that, she didn't hide behind the word 'misogyny', she stood up and grabbed the political landscape by the balls. She had a job to do and she didn't waste time.

    • @Celisar1

      Wrong. Firstly she set the bar for every politician. Then misogyny and sexism IS a huge problem for women. Mentioning and criticising it is not only perfectly fine but even more necessary.
      You cannot solve a problem without addressing it.

    She was my role model when I was young. I was born into a working class family on a poor council estate, today I am Chief Operating Officer for a £billion group of companies. Baroness Thatcher was incomparable. We will probably never see anyone like her again given the bunch of spineless cry babies we seem to have raised in the UK over the last 25 years.

      Pasam......you are woefully uneducated on the history of British colonialism. Trying to compare Hitler to the British is just pure insanity or ignorance. Almost every country colonised by Britain was better for it because Democratic institutions were introduced and capitalism. I don't have enough time just now to educate you but if you can suppress your ignorant hostility of Britain you may learn something but I won't get my hopes up.

      Pasam......the victory in the Battle of Britain was the turning point in ww2. The loss of the Luftwaffe against the Royal Air force was a devastating blow against the Nazi's.....A famous piece of heroism by the British and brilliant ingenuity to rally as a nation and produce all those brilliant aircraft in incredibly short time. A great feat. But you seem like a rather prejudiced, Britain hating kind of dude. Relax, read a history book and take a sleeping pill.

    Margaret Thatcher comes across as a thoughtful, intelligent, articulate & quite witty (in a dry kind of way) person. I find her example encouraging to those of us who were barely alive when she was prime minister based on the fact that she was self-made. The working class however may think otherwise and I don't blame them. Nevertheless Rip to a great woman.

    She was as masterful in this interview as she was in service of her people--her government rolled back state control and perpetually constricting socialism--not an easy thing to do.
    Her ideas and policies were clear and correct.
    We see the US slouching toward state control, and we can only pray that a leader like MT will emerge to lead the way in a completely opposite direction, but no such leader is on the horizon.
    It is easier to sell vice than virtue, and sadly the vices of sloth and envy are being sold by the dependency party and these sins are eagerly and unwittingly lapped up by many people who have traded their votes for subsistence living.
    Masterful interview---wonderful to behold.

    I used to detest Maggie Thatcher but now I realize that she did more to help the poor out of poverty than all socialists and liberals and leftists put together. Socialism, communism, liberalism, leftism, whatever you call it, makes everyone poorer except politicians and dictators and civil servants and government apparatchiks.
    Neil Kinnock admitted that Thatcher had made the poor richer than ever and helped more people into the middle class than ever before. That's why Tony Blair adopted New Labour which decided to punish working class Brits who abandoned socialism by replacing us with mass immigration.

      +BountyHunter7520 It worries me that so many people think communism implies a corrupt dictator, or a dictator at all, and why you think it would make anybody richer is pretty strange considering the core concepts of both communism and socialism. Seriously, how can you possibly talk about bad money distribution when comparing it to capitalism! Don't get me wrong I'm not some sort of loud, anti-establishment twat but the things your saying seem to be worryingly common.

    Where was she going with her absurd "women are more peaceful than men" question? The premise of the question itself was absurd.

    • @juancpgo
      @juancpgo 7 лет назад +1

      I think it's an interesting question, I think women are indeed more peaceful than men.

    • @MrChorizokiller
      @MrChorizokiller 7 лет назад +8

      Juan Oh really? How do you square that opinion with the fact that the highest rates of domestic violence are found among lesbian couples? Anecdotal evidence isn't compelling. Men and women are both equally prone to violence, it's just that men have the natural ability and means to inflict more damage. And the premise, in the context of political leadership, is even more absurd. There is no evidence that female heads of state are less prone to committing to violent conflict.

    • @juancpgo
      @juancpgo 7 лет назад

      MrChorizokiller I didn't say there was more evidence. I just said my current impression of things, I'm not much knowledgeable of this.
      But remember that marvin gaye song “what's going on”, it says: “father, father, we don't need to escalate” - men seem to have an ambition to conquer and compete. Look at sports, it seems to me men are more competitive, the vast majority of people cheering aggressively for soccer teams here in brazil are men. And they fight all the time. Women tend to not care so much about that, often women care about settling things down. I don't know, it's an impression and it's obvious not just me that have it. But I could be wrong, there could be other explanations for it, as you mentioned yourself one.

    • @MrChorizokiller
      @MrChorizokiller 7 лет назад +1

      That's not proof of women being innately more peaceful, there are other ways of being aggressive. Some of the most hawkish leaders have been, and are, women - take a look at Hillary Clinton.

    Thatcher knew how to handle the media/press properly. Tough, stern, yet cool, very well prepared and informed, without any bombast or hyperbole. Moreover, she speaks and illustrates her ideas with great clarity. Current leaders and heads of state ought to take heed.
