The black cover is stunning. Got myslef a Moterm black veg. leather but I wish I saw this video sooner. Is the Hobonichi Leather Taut (Brown) A5 from the current lineup the same leather as yours black from the video?
Thanks so much! I had a Moterm black veg tan as well - I did like it, but yes, totally different than this Hobonichi one. The Moterm one is much heavier and thicker. I also had the wine/maroon taut Hobonichi from 2023 - that leather is closer than the Moterm, but, the difference is that the taut leather is very shiny, it's treated with something that really gives it an ultra smooth, very glossy surface. It is also thicker. The black Hobonichi from 2016 is goat leather from Italy. I don't believe they've made another using this type of leather since - though I wish they would!

Lovely haul.That leather cover looks so beautiful. And now I am off to see your Hobonichi pen video. I have a little collection too. I just had to replace two of the pens from 2019 (broke) and 2020 (didn't receive in my order for some reason). I am so grateful to the planner community for holding on to things like this for folks like me to buy.

I love the free Hobo pens. I’m curious, how much was shipping from Hobonichi ? I would love to order myself next year. Nothing beats the leather cover. The Aletone cover looks kind of retro. Thank you for going thru the book.
Hi there! I paid $30 USD for shipping - but my wife's planner and cover were also included in the order. I agree re: the leather, it's just so great. Yeah, the Aletone cover does give off a cool retro vibe. It's wearing on me - I can see myself using it for a bit to change things up a little sporadically. Thanks so much for watching!

It appears that 30 USD is the standard shipping to the US. It’s cheaper than last year.
