I haven't been there since 1999. I know there was the tsunami in 2004 but what the heck happened to the place? Burger King, McDonalds? It looks like hell on earth compared to what is was before.
Phi Phi has much changed since 1990's with new business throughout the entire island. Not to mention it has really turned into a tourist meca. But regardless of how many tourist come and go there is plenty of very beautiful areas on Phi Phi. I have a video soon of my trek to long beach which is very remote part of Island.
