I pull flatbed in the oilfield and we haul some chemical barrels and totes from time to time the easiest way to attach the placards is get you a couple 2×4s about 2 foot long and screw some placard holders on then and stick them in the stake pocket if your trailer doesn't have a stake pocket in the front or back like mine chain a couple pieces of dunnage to the deck and screw them on that
That's very solid advice. That's actually exactly what I did once I went back home at the end of the week after this load. I went straight to Lowe's and bought a 2x4 and had an associate cut it into four pieces. I'm all set for my hazmat loads now. 😎👍
This is a good channel because you actually show your load securement and you discuss other things like the hazmat stuff. Any channel where you can learn something is worth watching. Subscribed.
Thank you. My goal is always to make my videos as informative as possible. More videos to come.
You’re inspiring me to become a trucker
I'm glad that you're finding value in my content. 🧔🏿👍🏿
@@EruditeTrucker I ordered some merch. I am still waiting for it tho
Thanks, I appreciate you. 🧔🏿👍🏿
Appreciate this video Brother..I drove Hazmat & Ammo in the Marine Corps and will be headed to Des Moines at the end of this month for training & orientation. I've got my CDL- B w/ X endorsement, but haven't hauled a hazmat load in the civilian world. Definitely will be doing the same with over checking load and making sure things are safe. I am looking forward to a new career with TMC 11 years after retiring from the Marine Corps and finally getting my CDL-A that I should have gotten when retiring, haha.. Safe Travels Brother
I'm glad that my content is helping you. Congratulations on the new career path. 🧔🏿👍🏿

Make sure to get the 2020 version of the Emergency Response Guide
Could you have stuck the placard directly to the shrink wrap?
Possibly under ideal circumstances. The freight was already wet when it was loaded onto the trailer, so I doubt that the adhesive would have held.
@@EruditeTrucker ahhh gotcha.
Did you deliver this to US Pipe in Lynchburg? I’ve been there once and try not to go back lol!!!! Are you from Nc?
I believe that is where it delivered to. That area is tight to drive into.
@@EruditeTrucker yes and the paper roll place is literally beside it but you’ve got to go around.
I live here trying get on with tmc
Do you get paid more for hazmat? And does tmc provide the certifications for hazmat?
Hazmat loads do pay more due to the added risk of the freight. You have to acquire the Hazmat endorsement on your own. You must pass the computer test at a DMV facility and then pass a TSA background check.
@EruditeTrucker thank you for the quick reply sir. About 80 more days left in the army, then im heading to TMC. Stay safe
@Casey88 88 Sounds great. DM me on Instagram if you would like a referral @eruditetrucker.
How long do you stay out OTR ? I'll be getting my CDL license, this year and I'm looking at different companies....... No obligations, if I wanted to stay out 3 to 8 weeks at a time......... would that be possible !. Thanks. 🚛🛣️.
@Mike With TMC, you can go home every weekend if you would like. If you want to stay out on the road, they'll keep you running for however long you want to be out.
Shipper give you the placard or you got your own.
The shipper always provides the placards.
