Thanks for uploading. Very, very rarely see my hometown when I was growing up anymore. Went to grade & jr high school there. My Father served as a police officer there in the 70's. I remember walking across that river bridge at the start of the video with my first grade class going over to the high school for something. Can't remember what for now. I remember Whitey Baldwin having his car lot on the highway side of that bridge... And some other things that is gone now too. I remember listening to the WWYO AM radio station as a kid. In some ways, despite some few changes through the decades, it still seems much the same too. Except the vehicles. The town that time almost forgets occasionally. So many faces, many I know are long since departed, from teachers such as 1st grade Mrs. Tilley, to students I went to school with, to seeing the faces of people my Father both knew and worked with there. Small town, only part of it is in the video. But a lot of quiet history of people with their own stories & memories. I miss Pineville sometimes...
My dad was raised in Pineville. My mom was from Jesse. Both parents are buried in Matheny. I have visited so many times and lived in beloved WV! My son was born in Bluefield. I was born a yankee, but luckily raised a southerner. Thanks for posting this!
Wow 😮my hometown 😢😢 walked across that bridge a many times going to have lunch; grilled ham salad at the drugstore or to Crews store for a (pop) soda and a cake an little brown bag penny candy remember the taffy. We’d put it in our pockets to get it warm then pull it oh it was so good. Saw one in the store not long ago cost $2.09. And we use to pay 5 cents. Course that was 50 years ago. Was pleased to see the Guyadote running with clear clean 😂water. Hope to see Pineville this summer. And Keyrock and Bearhole. Who am I!!!!
Well I don't know if you're interested. But Fayetteville, WV could be a place to check out one day. Also, I don't know if it's much trouble. But any chance you could do slightly longer walking videos? (I mean usually you do haha, but I mean for smaller towns like Pineville here!) If not, that's all good and it's great stuff anyway.
I hope it's just a temporary thing that you're not uploading for the last year, I look forward to seeing more of that part of the country that I can't see in person.
Hey man, another great video. Seems like a cool little town! How far out do you usually travel? What I mean by that is, do you set yourself a distance (from home I guess) that you won't go passed? e.g North Carolina is way too far away etc. Also, excellent ending to the video haha
@2:00 WHERE THE RED STORAGE CONTAINER AT THE FRONT OF THIS BUILDING I DID A FOUR WHEEL BRAKE JOB & A TRANSMISSION RE-SEAL ON A 1973 FORD PINTO STATION WAGON. YES, I HAD IT UP IN THE AIR ON FOUR JACK STANDS WORKING IN & WHILE IT SNOWED. A FRIEND SENT HIS DAUGHTER UP TO PINEVILLE TO WORK WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY TO RESTORE FLOOD VICTIMS HOUSES, THE DEAL WAS YOU HELP HABITAT RESTORE FOR TWO YEARS, HABITAT PAYS THEIR COLLAGE FOR FOUR YEARS, & THEY PUT ALL THE KIDS UP IN THIS OLD SCHOOL BUILDING. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BRAKES & TRANSMISSION BLOWING THE SEAL, IS IT'S AN HOUR DOWN THE MOUNTAIN TO GET TO ANY REAL KINDA STORES FOR THE KIDS, & THIS GIRL WOULD TAKE SOME OF THEM WITH HER DOWN THE MOUNTAIN THEN BACK UP THE MOUNTAIN WITH HERE. ONE OF THE GIRLS SHE TOOK, BLESS HER HEART, WEIGHED IN AT LEAST 300+ LBS !!! THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE CALIPER WORKED SO HARD, IT LITERALLY BORE A HOLE THROUGH THE DISC. LUCKILY THE NAPA DOWN THE HILL HAD EVERY PART WE NEEDED FOR THIS REPAIR. SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE. I'D LOVE TO COME VISIT ONE DAY !!!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Thank you for sharing your memories of growing up in Pineville. It touched me deeply. God bless my salt of the earth brothers in Wyoming County!

A narrative would have been nice. Haven't been here in 40 years

I usually only do day trips. Usually nothing more than four or five hours away. Parts of North Carolina aren't too far away for that.
That's still quite a distance, wow. But yeah, that's Awesome, must be fun.
Hey why did you stop your vids...they were good
Good job.wallking in video west Virginia. 좋다. Fallout76
Hey mate, just came to comment that I hope you're doing well. And looking forward to seeing more from your channel if you choose to return. Stay safe!

Home of "Marquise Love"?
Meh, no town's perfect. Looks like a nice place to live.
I'd like to see Weirton.
There are a few nice people in Pineville, and there are some hard core drug addicts. Some things are nice others are horrible.🚴🌟🚵
I grew up there. Glad I left years ago. It’s a Craphole
