Bonnie, we met at CVX live in 2018 and you took me aside for 20 minutes and fully conversed with me about life and Utah and who I was. I will NEVER forget that special moment. I hope viewers continue to say hi and you make them feel just as important as you did me. Human connection is SO vital. Let’s keep the kindness going!! ❤❤
Please don't take it personally if viewers don't go up and say hi. I would never have the nerve. Sometimes its due to their own insecurities and nothing to do with what you've been through as a family. Or maybe they think you'd find them prying. I promise 99% of us viewers got best intentions at heart xx
Omg the drama. They're mice. Not man eating creatures. Seal where they came in, set traps, vacuum up the mess and move on. This not earth shattering. Come on guys, really.
@@belindacreech107 SHUT UP! This didn't happen to you, so just SHUT UP! It's easy for you to sit behind your keyboard and judge others, but if this happened in your new house with your new furniture you'd probably be far worse. Words of encouragement to motivate them. They need prayers for comfort and how to navigate through their life. What they don't need is people like YOU. @@belindacreech107I disagree. Mice are extremely invasive and carry disease. Even when I find one mouse in my house I get super anxious. I can’t even imagine finding them all over my house, find mice poop everywhere and not knowing where they are. I would have freaked out way more than Bonnie did. I am absolutely terrified of mice.
Flip over your couches, mices can go up inside the fabrics and make nests. Mouse can squeeze thru a size of a dime . Your attached garage , I bet your attached garage has more. Watched out for your camper too, mice can start inside there too.

Guys when you build a house out in the middle of nowhere you are going to have mice. You will have a mouse problem for years. That is just how it goes when you live out where no other houses are. It is life. If this was my house I would get some barn cats. Cats really help with mice and rats and snakes. We had a mouse problem and they got in my washer and dryer and pee peed and I dryer some stuff and it was not good. Had to buy new washer and dryer. If you use a vacuum I recommend getting a new one as the pee and poo get into the tiny crevices and then your carpet will start smelling. I went thru a mouse problem. The only way we control it is all the cats in my neighborhood. We have not seen one mouse poo in three years. We had to get new couch and chairs as the poo and pee was inside the couch where we could not get to without cutting the couch. Good luck. I pray you don't have to buy all new stuff like I had too. It was a nightmare. In the summer if you start smelling something off it might be your rugs and couches or other stuff that the mice peed on.
Sometimes you seriously can't control getting mice in your house they can come through vents also. Don't feel bad. No matter what you do Sometimes things happen.
Sweet Bonnie. I think y’all are handling this situation fabulously! It could be any one of us, but look at you being so brave and sharing. I admire y’all so much for the real life share. You are handling this so gracefully, and so well. I love seeing you and Joel work together so well together. One day at a time, one room at a time, cleaning one by one, it’s hard, but it’s good. You inspire me. ❤
Bonnie, my uncle had a house next to a corn field. He said as cold weather set in the mice lined up with their suitcases to get in. Made us all laugh but the down side of farm life. He eventually got the holes taken care of.
Bonnie you should put cotton balls with peppermint oil in the corners and wherever you put the traps...peppermint oil keeps them away they don't like the smell..too strong
I know I'm not making your day but mice are sneaky. It's been months and we are still getting them. Not as many but still there. Check your stove thoroughly. The stove is clean but they love to hide there. Good luck. Love you Hoelleins!
You are making memories! Good, bad, sad, funny. That’s what my mom would always say and still says if things don’t go as planned or when something happened that is unexpected. It’s memories! Love you and your family! You should be SO proud.
If I saw y’all out and about, I would never have the nerve to come up to you to say hello. One, because I am way too shy. Two, because I wouldn’t want to be intrusive with your privacy. Third, I would probably cry like a big ol’ baby lol. Other people might be feeling the same way, just simply respecting your privacy. ❤

Bonnie, mice are very inteligent. Did you check your appliances ' engines? Once, a rat made a nest inside my fridge' s engine.....there were 12 little mice in there. And they only come out during the night, in the silence. They spend all day hiding. Love from Portugal!
Bonnie! I love you been watching for so long. This is real life occurrences that happened to most of us if not all. I appreciate your transparency know that this is just a bump in the road.
When you said “I swear I’m burning the house down” I literally cackled! We live next to a wheat field and this past summer when I was heavily pregnant, I smelled something foul in our kitchen. I tore the whole thing apart and cleaned it until I got to the last cabinet and lo and behold there was a dead mouse in the very back of the cabinet. I screamed so loud my husband heard me outside, peed my pants running away, and told my husband I’m burning the house down🔥. It’s funny now but at the time it was so traumatic. I feel your pain Bonnie and I’m so so sorry that you’re going through this. Hugs! 💕
Awwwww so glad to hear they weren’t in there very long….now that would have been no fun at all!!! So proud of y’all for staying as positive as you can be. Praying you find them all asap 🙏🏻❤️
Bonnie, you and Joel make such an inspiring team - especially when the times are less than favorable like this. Wishing you all loads of hope, strength, and happiness to come. This too shall pass. Lots of love as well! ❤
What an incredibly gorgeous home you have- the mice have good taste! Also, you are a great team working together to resolve this- you are a great example of how a healthy marriage works, through the good times and bad!
Hi Bonnie❤ I love your channel!! But havent had the chance to watch in quite a while. Thanks for sharing your life with us! Also I would give you the biggest hug if I ever met you!! sometimes it feels like you are my old friend I catch up with once in a while!!
One reason I think the mice have been there longer than you may think is the piano books being chewed up. I hope I'm wrong. Keep your spirits up. This too shall pass.
Just want to say I love you Bonnie! I want to reach through the screen and hug you, I am a mom of four too and I can’t imagine coming home to that. How disappointing and defeating but man, you and Joel handled it beautifully and your kids are learning so much from the grace you give each other and support you offer. It will all be ok! And I would love to see you out somewhere I would be not be able to help myself but to say hey and hug your neck! Your a beautiful person! You are loved sweet Bonnie!
❤ I am sure a million people have already said this..... put some snap traps in your camper ASAP! Those little creeps will move in there in a heartbeat. Also, put up some little tiny signs that inform the little critters that snap traps are in use. It's the humane thing to do. LOL!!! Go get 'em. They belong OUTSIDE! Love you guys.
We lined the outside and inside of the camper, sprayed it, and we have caught SO MANY on the outside, none on the inside. We bought a cat house and stuck it next to our RV and are getting cats!!
@@bonniehoellein i commented on the last vlog about how good barn owls are for the mice population. I dont know how you get a barn owl but i think if you had one you would be set.
Make sure you get real farmcats that know how to hunt! I live in the Netherlands, and we can pick up unwanted farmcats from the animalshelter for free. The cats are not able to settle indoors, and because of that, there is no fee. Maybe the shelters in your area have something similar!
I think it is so brave of you to say that you don't need thar big fancy house you have worked so hard for. All we need at the end of the day is our family. ❤
I noticed Joel's Today's task video where he was setting traps he wasn't wearing gloves. I was always told to wear gloves when setting mouse traps because of human scent. I'd have the same reaction as Boston if I saw a mouse as well. Lol
Bonnie i am so heartbroken for you guys and this problem and was completely distraught thinking that you have not lived in the house for more than 2 months and are already thinking of moving ... i was soooo looking forward to watching you live in that house and enjoy that view ... i wish you guys nothing but the best
I have seen a few celebrities and I never go up to them to say hi or anything. The reason why is because I want to give them their privacy. I never stopped to think that maybe it would hurt their feelings if I didn’t. But if I ever see, you, Bonnie, I guarantee that I will come up and say hi. So don’t think that because someone didn’t say hi was a reflection on you. They just might want to respect your privacy. Wish I was there to help you guys clean. We were in the military for 22 years and moved so often. And we have moved into many types of housing that needed cleaning. So I’m pretty good at it. I hope the rest of the cleaning goes quickly and you can get settled and feel comfortable back in your home. Love from North Idaho.❤
Your house is so beautiful!! 😍 Can’t wait for a house tour video, hopefully after you get this mice situation under control 🙏🏼 I think cats will be really helpful. I love your rugs, btw. Do you have them linked anywhere?
Don’t worry Bonnie ❤️! The home I grew up in was in the country side, surrounded by open fields and not a lot of other homes. If a door was left the smallest bit open for even a second we were sure to have a mouse ! Or the smallest crack in a wall/door we would have more, I think one winter we must have caught 12 in a much smaller size home than yours until we found how they were getting in !! So scary and feels so invasive but you’re not alone and hopefully all those pesky mice will be out of your beautiful home soon ❤ You are doing everything that can be done. Praying you feel peace during this time, even though you might feel it is a small issue and there are bigger things to worry about it is 100% valid to feel this way and anyone who has put so much time and effort into creating a home would understand and feel the same way !
I've been following you guys for years and appreciate your posts. I would be totally freaked out, as you are, if this had happened to my home.....especially my BRAND NEW home. You're both doing a great job of taking care of this issue, hopefully after a very short time, there will be no further problems. That said, following your trip to South Florida made me wonder if full time RVing was in your future. The only issue was your new home. You just seemed to enjoy it so much and Bonnie, you seemed SO relaxed. Loved watching your trip and hope for more.
Y’all should look into getting pest control! We have a cat who does an incredible job catching mice, but as she’s getting older my parents decided on getting pest control and it has done WONDERS. Definitely worth the money.
Bonnie, my house backs up to a 500 acre field that has various wheat/crops, I use a electric zapper in my garage. I bait it with pb/choc chips. I also tried the snap traps inside closets. My house is just 3600sq ft but it was overwhelming. Major major hugs 💞
I hope and pray the mice will be totally gone soon. What a welcome home but at least the house will get a good spring cleaning! I so miss your mom and dad but totally understand the reasoning behind it. Y’all take care! Debbie from NC.
Bonnie, I just bought a 'Eye Vac Pro" on amazon. Its a power machine that is knee high...and when you sweep the floor the Eye Vac turns on and sucks all the debris. Its has a sensor, so when you sweep the debris towards the Eye vac it turns on and sucks it all in. I LOVE IT.
Bonnie I feel for you. They are eerie little critters. Hope you get them all & things get back to normal. It’s true, until things build up around you there are bound to be more critters. Guess you’ll have to keep mouse traps loaded or get you some outside cats. Good luck! 🤞
I wish I could give you a big hug! I’m so sad for you that viewers don’t approach you. Maybe they just want to be respectful and give you space. ❤ I really, really miss your Mom and Dad. I hope you and your mom, Julie and Ellie had a wonderful Mother’s Day. ❤
I feel bad that this is the first home tour I'm seeing of your beautiful home! Praying this resolves quickly and that your family can be able to enter a season of rest!
Hi Bonnie and family, I am sorry you had mice. We had them as well. Cleaned everywhere like you. In the end we also got 3 cats. No mice since. Take care. Linda Warnke😊
We have noticed an EXTREME reduction in critters since we started keeping a cat. She delights in hunting down all the little outside critters- then brings them to the door for praise…
We live on the water too and unfortunately getting mice and or rats is a side affect. You guys are doing the right things. My mama heart hurts for you. Please don’t worry what people say. I know easier said then done. I am my worst critic. You and Joel are good hardworking people that come from good hardworking families. None of us can control what another person does we can only control how we respond. It’s ok to have all the feelings allow yourself to the feelings but please don’t let them control you or your life. You Are A Good Person. You Do Make Good Choices. You are a Great Mother Daughter Sister Aunt Care Giver Sister in Christ. I hope your days get better.
My hubby just drops the whole cage thing in a bucket of water then drops it in the bin and resets it 🙏🏻❤️ lately though the cat gets them. I’m loving you guys back in this house though 🙏🏻❤️🇦🇺
BONNIE . PLEASE READ. I feel you. I went thru the same exact thing in January. It's so horrible. Get the electric Rodent high frequency plug ins at Home Depot. They really work and we haven't seen any evidence of rodents since we started using them! They are so disgusting. Ours were because of an idiot contractor who didn't close up holes under our house during our remodel and we were invaded by hundreds! (By the gifts they left us! Yuk!!!!) Good Luck!
Plaster of Paris box of cornmeal this is a cool hillbilly method take out half the cornmeal pour in the powdered plaster Paris mix and just leave the box open
We live on a farm and mice in the house happen because of the strawbales. Mouse traps did not work well we use those big roll fly stickers. Worked really well.
Omg Bonnie I am so scared of mice I can absolutely sympathise I love it Australia and a couple years ago the whole of Australia had a plague that devastated so many farmers You will get on top of it Love your whole family
Oh my goodness… so many things in this vlog. You drove right through my area in MO and I was super sad we didn’t run into each other! I would’ve said hi or even frantically waved as we drove down the highway. I have two cats and a toy poodle/ shih tzu mix (dog) we have mice but they don’t last long because the animals hunt them down and ummm off them and then make sure we know because they get treats for it. We live an in old manufactured home so the cost to permanently fixing the issue is more then the house is worth. But with that being said after you move back in pay attention to lady because she mights be hearing, seeing, or smelling something you’re not and alerting you to it. It can be very helpful. Also it happens. It’s the real world. No need to feel bad or embarrassed by it 💕
❤hi bonnie,I understand stand your situation because I've had mice in my kitchen for about a year, eventually we fought the hole and put traps down I fought one under my furniture so check...I hope you sort the problem out...
I am so sorry you guys. I can only imagine coming home to your brand new beautiful house to have it infiltrated by mice, but I admire you guys for having such a positive attitude and just getting to it day one cleaning it little by little… I could watch you guys in amazing adventures in Florida or picking up mouse poop but no matter what you’re doing. I love watching your family lol and, just keep your heads up and it will get better, love you guys!❤
Welcome home! A bit off topic, we are a day a head of you here in NZ, yesterday Sunday was Mothers day. My family came to spend the day with me and I cooked them waffles from your family cookbook for a treat. I don't have your recipe book but I loved your parents video making them and wrote the recipe down. It is the best recipe in the entire world. YUM and thank you!🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇 I kid you not, less than an hour ago my cat the size of a small Elephant brought in a mouse that was alive wiggling and chased us around with it. Hibijibies alright.🐭🐁🖱🪤
I wouldn't even know where to start on that cleanup, but it looks like you have a plan. A good nights sleep helps and you'll get it figured out. If I ever saw your family in public, I wouldn't say HI. I would maybe smile, but would feel I would just give you your privacy. Nothing personal at all. Your new home will soon be a place of peace and refuge. Bless you guys.
You guys are minimalists with less things to wipe down & that's a huge plus. Wondering & confused if your sink cabinet doors tightly close (where the peeps were) or other cabinetry doors are tight how could mice get Inside? Sending love & hugs your way.
Hi, I had a bad mouse problem a couple years back. We went on amazon and found some electronic mouse traps. I believe they are called Owltra mouse traps. They worked like a charm and haven't had a mouse sighting in a long while.

Um that would defeat the purpose of catching the mice. Maybe after she catches them yes, But while, no.

Hi Bonnie❤ I love your channel!! But havent had the chance to watch in quite a while. Thanks for sharing your life with us! Also I would give you the biggest hug if I ever met you!! sometimes it feels like you are my old friend I catch up with once in a while!!
@18:40 cut open the bottom of the couches to remove any feces being held in by the cloth.
Stale Peeps are the BEST!
I know it's such a terrible feeling but you'll feel so clean and accomplished when your done.❤
That bathroom is beyond stunning!!!!
@bonniehoellein that's the best news! The cats will keep them from getting in the house again too! Hugs and love from Wilsonville Oregon
You should also get cats for being indoor house cats too that way you have cats for both indoor and outdoor
Bonnie and Joel, you have put your time and energy into your family. Look at your beautiful success! ❤️
Lol
Yeassss been excited for this all weekend. All will be fine - we love you!
I love your perspective. It's not always and what you've got, but who you've got. ❤️
Bonnie i am so heartbroken for you guys and this problem and was completely distraught thinking that you have not lived in the house for more than 2 months and are already thinking of moving ... i was soooo looking forward to watching you live in that house and enjoy that view ... i wish you guys nothing but the best
Bonnie, I said the same thing! I saw your bathroom and was admiring that and not paying attention to the mouse traps! Lolol love the sneak peak 😊
Not gonna lie… I’d totally watch you guys clean the whole house. You two have always been such a great team. 🫶🏻
So sorry you came home to all this. It will get better again!
Bait boxes where they can’t get out, are the best! We had one with 30 mice in it!
Chocolate with a sunflower in it!! Believe me, once I started using it. I caught quite a few!
I hope and pray the mice will be totally gone soon. What a welcome home but at least the house will get a good spring cleaning! I so miss your mom and dad but totally understand the reasoning behind it. Y’all take care! Debbie from NC.
Bonnie and Joel I know you’re dealing with the mouse situation but the house view 😘
Good luck! 🤞
Once this is all said and done, in years to come you will laugh at this predicament. You and Joel are rockstars for handling this so well!
I wish I could give you a big hug!
I’m so sad for you that viewers don’t approach you. Maybe they just want to be respectful and give you space. ❤
I really, really miss your Mom and Dad. I hope you and your mom, Julie and Ellie had a wonderful Mother’s Day. ❤
Thank you for the update. This has been living rent free in my head.
Hang in there Bonnie...Everything will be ok.
Gosh, it is so frustrating to have to deal with this. Thank you for being so vulnerable with us. Real life is happening to you tooooooo much lately💜
Hello I’m from Singapore and really love watching your family so close and loving ❤ .. every thing will be ok 🙏🏻
We had mice when I lived in a farm. We had no house close by. We got outside cats, and it really helped, plus mousetraps.
Omg Bonnie I am so scared of mice I can absolutely sympathise
I love it Australia and a couple years ago the whole of Australia had a plague that devastated so many farmers
You will get on top of it
Love your whole family
No need to feel bad or embarrassed by it 💕
In the midst of what seems like a total nightmare, your LOVE shines even brighter. Thank you for sharing.
That’s really sweet
I'd love to see a video on how Olivia does those heatless curls! I can't figure out how to wrap my hair around that band for the life of me.
We get a mouse here and there when the farm land around us is cleared for planting season and the field mice scatter.
YUM and thank you!🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇
I kid you not, less than an hour ago my cat the size of a small Elephant brought in a mouse that was alive wiggling and chased us around with it.
My poor sweet Bonnie god bless you!! Time to get some kitty cats
Love you all so much and take care
Thank god you have your trailer
Outside cats have helped us with mice ❤
