Developed PTSD when I learned that the boxes for the units was black inside. Nice move when Germany's units are black WHICH reminds me; Why oh why did they change the german units from grey to black. Still mad about that.
I’ve been ok with German units being black, but then again I never use the box trays that come with the game... it would be incredibly frustrating to find German pieces if I did.
@@TheCliffsideBunker Yep! Because of the price. We need to import them. The Brazilian Import Tax is very expensive and today 1BRL worth nothing. So these two games become VERY expensive get.
In todays world would it not possibly be more productive to grow the player base to focus on the online version of this popular board game and have a community of modders upgrading maps and rules or gameplay scenarios that player from around the world can compete together not hindered by the distance between players physical locations for the most part? I do understand the nostalgia of the traditional board game but due to things ranging from the pandemic, cost of travel and lodging and even many potential players lacking a suitable place to be able to set up a nice gaming table the online focus option would seem like it would be more popular and grow the community to a much larger size. @@TheCliffsideBunker Basically I guess I ask more why someone such as you who does appear to love the AXIS and ALLIES game so much does not migrate to playing the game online as in today's world the number of people that may be interested in the game, tournaments and online play would greatly outnumber those that are only interested in the physical board version? @@billwiley7216 I have over 15 club members here in Toronto, many of them are dear close friends that I’ll surely see again when this pandemic is over. Make no mistake, I’m a face to face table top player, I got into Axis & Allies before the internet was even invented, and I got into it to play a board game, not to stare at a screen. The question shouldn’t be “why doesn’t someone like me migrate to playing online”, instead the question should be “why doesn’t an online player who appears to love the game so much... create a RUclips channel and make videos about playing online”? Why must it fall on me to buildup that side of the community when I’m happy doing what I’m doing? Why must I migrate to a video game? what would my subscribers say if I put up less videos because I was playing online all the time? why don’t you create a channel and upload videos about tripleA? as for me... I’ll be hanging with my friends soon enough, laughing, chucking dice, and sharing good food together... it’s how I prefer it, in the meantime during this pandemic hiccup, I have the time to provide videos, make card decks, share map files, and speak with friends on the phone genuinely asking how they’re doing. I’m not upset that you ask me to perhaps use my time differently, people have been asking me to play online since tripleA was born... but this will be the last I write of it, I’ve got videos to upload, customizations to share, and friends to talk to. Something about opening a box is just so satisfying
