Only love to NASA, ESA and all other people involved. You are a bright glimmer of hope for us all, in a world drowned in unawareness and forgetfulness. Keep making beautiful things.
holy crap this way way too patriotic, its the international space station, not the america space station. cool animation and nice voice over otherwise.
great video, if people think that over 10,000 satellites follow the earth that travells over 1000 miles an hour i fell sorry for them, the earth is flat
+Mark Martin Well, if I remember rightly, I think Liberia is the only other country that retains the Imperial system, which means that the US is out of step with other developed nations when it comes to standard measures, despite the Imperial system being more difficult to use and learn. It also means many designed products, like machine and plumbing parts are incompatible with the products of anyone else. It also means that students either have to learn two systems and end up having to constantly convert them, or be left being confused whenever encountering the Metric or SI system, which I have personally seen happen quite often with US citizens. And when one day I looked up the reason why the US still retains the Imperial system, it turns out to be due to the objections to the Metric system by some religious groups. So is all that good or bad? Why not tell me what you think it is?
+Mark Martin I must have stumbled across the reference by accident a few years ago, as it took a little while to find it again. Firstly, I should correct myself, as the US retains the English System, not the Imperial System (which was formalised by Britain after US independence), and now refers to it as the US Customary System. Also, Myanmar is a third country which is only now starting to convert to a Metric System. In the Wiki article titled "United States Customary System", under the 'History' section, it mentions that the US based International Institute For Preserving And Perfecting Weights And Measures was a strong advocate for the Customary System in the late 19thC, because they considered the 'Napoleonic System' as atheistic, and that God had ordained that the original units thought to have been used to build the pyramids were passed onto the US. The Wiki article further references the Institute to a 1957 article by Martin Gardner called "The Great Pyramid", and googling the Institute gives some more references. Although there are many reasons for why the US still remains out of step with the rest of world regarding weights and measures, the Institute is regarded as the first major anti Metric movement in the US.
+Mark Martin Using standard weights and measures isn't like trying to tell everyone to speak one language. That's a ridiculous point, and I'm sure you know it is. Frankly, the issue doesn't interest me enough to care whether you think it's a problem or not, and I'm sure it makes it easier for the US to deal with Liberia and Myanmar. And I'm also sure that a Mars probe (in 2009 I think) crashing due to a mixing of measurement systems during fabrication is completely inconsequential (I'm sure too that you can easily confirm that fact for yourself). After all, my first comment was just a throwaway observation, and it was only you who wanted a value judgement placed on it. And, of course, the US has much greater things to worry about, like having quite a few adults who can't point out their own country on a blank map, or why the US has over 20% of the world's incarcerated prisoners, despite being less than 5% of the global population, or why so many US citizens think that the universe is only a few thousand years old, is geocentrically revolving around a flat Earth, and that NASA faked the Moon landings. So yes, viewed in proper perspective, the US not converting fully to the Metric system isn't a problem at all!
+Mark Martin Fine. Well then my first comment should read: "Funny how the US has a space agency, but still retains large amounts of a weights and measures system that is outmoded in the rest of the world, because US taxpayers are nostalgic for its comfort and familiarity." Is that better now?
Can't wait for commercial crew to finally start launching Americans from America again, especially considering we mostly built and paid for the ISS. We should be able to launch ourselves there! Hint to Congress.
***** that was a quote for the Apollo moon program. But it's still a good quote, doesn't mean I can't wish for our astronauts to launch again from America does it?
+Jamie Godman It has been my firm belief that I would live to witness the days of commercial space-tourism, perhaps not cruiser-liner size craft, but you get the picture. Sadly, politics and our wasteful government(s) focused on wars (instead of stopping corporations from brown-nosing said goverment(s) and destroying the middle-class via board-member greed) this dream of mine may not happen ... ... to see the stars, from behind the veil of our precious atmosphere... but without change, by the people for the people...
The most monotonous commentary I've ever heard! The information is contradicting and the producers are trying very hard to cover up with horrible loud music! It was such a waist of time to watch , that it forced me to waist another minute to let you know how superfluous this video presentation was! And the worst part of it is NASA and America is still using primitive measuring units.... Ohhh my ... its getting worst, I better end here!!!
its time to let private companies like Bigelow, Space X and others to retire that old.junkie international space station, with a more modern roomy structure that's esthetically pleasing
Great video! I think I'm starting to fall in love with space and appreciate the earth more!

Thank you NASA
Seraphim190 Good to know.
Seraphim190 good luck
Good luck for all ...👍
good old Space Station ISS 250 miles above the Earth this is where all the achievements in the space science are performed.
Is there any real footage of the ISS being built at all? All the space footage is bad cgi.
holy crap this way way too patriotic, its the international space station, not the america space station. cool animation and nice voice over otherwise.
Even if so, it doesn't make it theirs. Not to mentions how Russians provided most of the technology.
nasa doesn't own the space station so why do you call it nasa's international space station?!
+Seraphim190 I think something big it's began to us, nasa just try prepare for the future and the traveling on the space I think it's possible
I hear emperial units as miles feet and pounds. But in an international context only SI-units should be used.
Salute to nasa.very good video.
This is really cool! Unfortunately I live in Mexico and I have 13 years old. So I hope in the future they are chances like this...
+Rubi Yazmin everything that you think is a LIE ... question everything !
Beautiful!
beautiful video
Wow , amazing thanks!

Amanda Campbell Your head is flat, that is your problem.
Funny how the US has a space agency, but is one of the only two countries that still measure distances in the old Imperial mile.
+Mark Martin

NASA's international space station? NASA's? Are you kidding? Are you sure?
It's almost like one of those tube-like playsets for gerbals, but with ~zero-Gravity! *Kerbal smile*
Magnificent
I love it, I love it sow much!!

I love nasa.....
Sounds like a regular commercial from the US, why don't they use someone who cares about it like Neil deGrasse Tyson or something?
Apparently the world was egg shaped last year. We were all wrong. Doh!
