- The ultimate Honda Civic battle! With three cars and three drivers, we give you a race track head-to-head.
Knockhill Racing Circuit hosts the race between Matt Neal and Jessica Hawkins, who take over the road-going Honda Civic's, while rookie Dan Cammish is in the BTCC Honda Civic.
While Matt starts off well in the Honda Civic Sport, Jessica does have a chance in the Type R. But will they manage to hold off Dan?
Watch till the end to see who wins!

Very intense race! Loved it! Kinda makes me wanna take my 97 Civic Hatch to the track
Please you enjoyed it! Honda (UK) Social Media Team.
oTaLLenTTzZo I say do it!!!
As a civic sport owner. This is awesome🤘
Thank you! It is a very tense watch. Great choice of vehicle by the way. Honda (UK) Social Media Team
Yeah I have a fk7 as well
Ditto 😃
To the people saying they should’ve used an SI. The SI is not sold in Europe.
Hondata the sport and it would of def crossed the line before those two. Sport is pretty fast for a car priced at 20k
I expected the BTCC to win by a much wider gap, more than anything this is a testimony that even the slowest Honda Civic in this race is still a brilliant car.
Thanks Salatiso, the Civic family have more in common than most think! Honda (UK) Social Media Team
This is why I will always be a Honda fan
As a proud owner of an FK7 sport, this was what I needed after a long and tiresome January
Put them all on the same tyres. That'd be interesting
_R_P_M_ yeah cuz the btcc car probably had wet tires
A Civic Type-R on its own and stripped out would probably do! What a car...
Great set up guys well done
Fk7 is more than enough for a DD
Not bad for the Sport. Even though it losts but it's not far behind.
Yeah had 1st gen 1973 Civic, 75 Civic CVCC and this was because of Honda motorcycles. Never ceases to amaze me. Still riding a Honda, Now a VTX 1300CX Fury. But my 4th Odyysey 2016 model ain't no slouch for a civilized van. Great vid. Makes we want a current civic. But can haul my fury or my stuff.
Gotta love Honda Civic!👍🏼
It's a cracking car, pleased you love it as much as we do! Honda (UK) Social Media Team.
What an epic Civic race!
my GOD those things turn so well..
put that touring car against some civic time attack machines
How did you disable the emergency stop signal on the sport?
TCR civic vs BTCC civic?
Very exciting and tense and what a finish. I miss my Type R even though I drove it like Miss Daisy LOL.
Wasn't it? Glad you enjoyed it, Honda (UK) Social Media Team.
I got a 2020 civic 1.5, can i go to the track with it without damage ? 1 day only :D
What kind of traction do these cars use? 🤔
Civic Sport’s L15B7 does not have VTEC.
it does in europe. Sadly not in america
BloodDrunk thanks
Sport goes crazy at 4.000 rpm and above
Should've used an SI
That guy also said about the 1.5L Turbo that it wad V-tec, but if I remember properly, those don't have a V-tec anymore
Tyler civic SI only in America...What’s the point? No one don’t want to pay extra 10 000$ to import SI...You can put 10 000$ to make a race car out of your civic sport!=))
Would be really interesting to see where the Civic Si ranks here. I'd imagine between the Sport and Type-R somewhere.
Isn't Sport the non-USA name for the SI?
I don't think so? Seems other markets outside of the US got the Si as the SiR. The Si name was also sometimes used for models equal to the US-based EX trim. Confusing.
@@OscarBatucan
Sport is a trim specific to the hatchback model with 180hp/suspension upgrades and center exhaust.
The Si comes in coupe or sedan flavors with 205hp, suspension upgrades, a limited slip diff, some type-r parts, and center exhaust.
@@theconformist2399
It is confusing because all those trims mean different things in Japan than they do anywhere else as well.
I hope that now that the Civic is a global car, it'll be all universal. (Though, already, in select other countries, the 1.5t trims are called RS)
I heard the first to comment gets a free car! .. Right?? Ah well..I'll keep saving my pennies :)
I wish i could give my 95 civic to a museum for a new civic, Cars older than 15 are in the retro category right ? :D
Cool!
he said 1.5 turbo vtec, but i thought the new 1.5t only has vtc and no vtec or was it vtec avail outside of usa?
The VTEC version is sold here in Europe.
VTC is Vtec turbo the missing "e" letter part is replaced by the turbo. No need for lift because turbo is the lift part. Together VTC and turbo combine for Vtec turbo.
Sucks you guys didnt use the Si
Civic vs McLaren Honda = LOL 😂
FD2R is missing here
i thought that 1.5 is faster.... stil my MB6 is a fast car.
Mb6 all the way 😉👍
So the sport comes with a manual?
It sure does! Honda (UK) Social Media Team
Who came in second tho?
Only 6 sec separates a stock Type R with a $250K race car?
6 seconds over a short lap ? That's a lifetime in racing terms
Also if it was a flying lap with the car and tyres warmed up I reckon it would be 10 seconds plus per lap
1 sec is already a good amount, what more with 6 seconds?
6 seconds is worth all that 250k. Like ^ said, 6 seconds is an eternity when it comes to racing.
Also check your numbers, the JAS motorsport prepared Type R TCR cars can be had used for about 80-90K. That and the fact that you think only 6 seconds is nothing makes you sound a bit uninformed. 6 seconds puts you in an entirely different racing category and gets you lapped several times during a 30 minute sprint race.
No Si? Lol
I hope new Civic typer have new engine 2.4 liter turbo
Wow
*Meh, my 1996 civic with 19" chrome spinners and pink neon is faster than these*
If it were the ultimate civic battle then the si would be competing, the si has way better suspension than that hatch bc on the adaptive damper, and a has more power. The hatch sport is a solid car but it isnt even close to an Si performance wise, why would you compare a hatch to the type r?
Brayden Brooks isn’t close? Really? They have the same engine and basically the same turbo...The only difference in LSD
Sport plus has adaptive dampers too
Николай Нечипорук completely different engine. There is a reason why Si’s can make so much more power when fully modified. And a different turbo. Hatchback has 11 blades si has 7 meaning it can run more boost efficiently. The Si has better suspension and bigger sway bars for handling. Ofcourse the LSD which makes a night and day difference around the track.
What!
Cool l Vibration
That’s not fair the car that’s win is racing car
bring back i-vtec
I'd rather have a k-swapped EG then any of these!
Lol fwd
staged to the max
Yeah okay but still a Honda
Honda make the best engines in the world, it's proven.
