Couple of observations 1 - I haven't seen a solid quality of this game on here! 2 - Pat Riley and Bob Costas called games? Thought they were only in studio! 3 - The 1990-91 NBA on NBC intro with Jordan over Ehlo in Cleveland is nice but it should have had the Bad Boys celebrating the 1990 title! 4 - And who knew that Peter Gabriel could get you hyped for some basketball!
@@michaelallen8112 I will. I just remember him in the Bad Boys documentary ripping on the Pistons for the infamous walk off after the Bulls swept them in the '91 ECF and not knowing the real reason why.
I thought Marv Albert and Mike Fratello did the marquee games for NBC the first few years they had the NBA. Bob Costas and Pat Riley doing PxP & commentary was very different for NBC because they did the NBA Showtime pregame show.
Double Header on NBC this day, Marv & his crew did Celtics vs Pacers on this day while Costas & Riley got out the studio to do Lakers vs Pistons. I think Dick Enberg may have been off or another NBC Assignment.

I was watching the '96 Dream Team game vs USA Select on RUclips and in the 2nd half the Select Team was really struggling to bring the ball up the court in the second half after despite having a 17-point lead in the first half. I don't see any pool games available on RUclips.

Another good one. I guess everybody thinks the games from their era were the best but man this was the golden era. So much talent.
This was the last season for quite awhile where Lakers/Pistons matchups were marquee games everyone looked forward to seeing.
Their March 1992 matchup was still decent enough to get an NBC game

Costas was actually the lead play-by-play for three years after Marv Albert got into legal trouble.
Agreed on your 3rd point, but NBC had a bias for MJ and hated the Pistons.
