Email forwarding from the user object is disabled by default policy now in office 365. The current secure recommendation for email forwarding is to create a transport rule to handle forwarding, which prevents the users accounts from setting up forwarding/if mailbox is compromised.

Simple question, i want to forward a former employee's email who has just resigned, to two of his managers (This is just temporary while they sort out the sudden resignation). What is the BEST way to do this? I would like the managers to know that the email came from the former employee's email. Since the built-in "Forward to another email address" in 365 Office Admin option only allows ONE RECIPIENT, I would like to know the BEST way to accomplish this. It seems as though everyone has a different answer, ie. one person says to create a rule in 365 Exchange Admin, the next person says to create a security group, the next person says to go to that person's Outlook app on their desktop computer and setup a rule there (but that would require that the computer be up and running and in outlook), OMG, does this have to be this difficult??? Help!

That will be the same, you just need to enter the email address (for example abc@gmail.com).

The video is good but it isn't the best practice. What if there are hundreds of employees and at least 10 people go on holiday every month. I think we can agree that we don't want to keep an eye on them when we can stop forwarding emails to someone else. In Exchange we can also specify the time interval for how long we want to forward emails. Go to mail flow and create a new rule.
