OMG! what an ending. love the vids Evan. Keep it up! I have been to a place like that here in MA called F1 Boston the karts there I drive go about 60 or 70 on the outdoor course!

Yeah I go there a lot and am planning on buying my own shifter kart to race. At DKC they don't let you rent shifter karts btw. They used to let you rent DD2 (2 speed direct drive) karts if you had a fast enough time but too many people would crash them because they couldn't handle them, so they stopped renting them out. They do however still rent out 1 speed rotax karts, which is what I race when I go up there. If you get a lap time of 78 seconds or below then you can rent them. (However they are 60 dollars per race without a membership or 50 dollars per race with a membership.)
Wasn't aware of that. I went a lot whenever they first opened, but I don't go that much anymore.
Should have took some Bananas with you to throw on the track :P

Nice to see that you respect karting. Unfortunately many car guys think it's lame. I race a 6-speed KZ2 kart which is crazy fast (much faster than DD2 karts seen quite in the beginning of the video) so it really pisses me off when some BMW wannaberacingdriver tells me that they are toys that only a child would drive :D
iiTommyeX I love karting, man. I have a huge respect for it because of my love and passion for road racing. I want to race grand touring spec cars someday either for fun or competitively.

just curious, did you have that cobb knob in your sti when you purchased the car? did you did you buy it separately? also which was better in your opinion Flossy grip rod or the Cobb? I understsand that Cobb knobs are much lighter (oem weight) compared to Flossy. Just wondering what you think about heavy knob vs lighter ones.
The previous owner already had it installed.
I have had both, and I actually prefer the heavier weight. I feel like transitions between gears are much more seamless and effort-free when you have a heavier weight on the end.
I would actually love to get a heavier one than I have now.

my best time was 76 seconds... Too many slow people on the track. I have actually had much faster times before!
There are definitely a lot of slow people that you have to dodge around if you are fast. I am 14 but they let me drive the adult cart because I go there often. I have been there about 10 times. My fastest time a couple weeks ago was 75.925 but I have gotten into the 74s on a not very busy track.
I wish that I had a gopro to record.
Good job, dude! I wish I could have had a day to myself (or at least with a smaller crowd) to nail down faster times. I guarantee you that I could easily shave another two seconds off of my times if I just went there a couple more times. Unfortunately it IS very expensive, so I don't go there very often at all.
