I remember taking my beardie to show some friends and we set him up in a small box with a heat pack, a towel and a stuffed toy- and ever since he has loved that toy! It is the single most cutest thing on the planet.
One thing I added to my dragon's tank is something I initially bought for my dogs. It is called the lick mat. It is made from a rubber-like material. Each mat has a different raised pattern. My dragon goes on it a lot. He rubs his underside on it. The actual purpose of the mat is to put peanut butter or softened cheese on it. The licking helps soothe an anxious dog.
Another great video! I love all the enrichment ideas. I built an outdoor playpen using an old kiddie pool. Triple washed, non-silica play sand (I know sand is a bit controversial), then added plenty of different textured rocks and branches. I keep it covered when it's not in use. Our beardie gets outside time without worrying so much about him getting a hold of something he shouldn't.
We just got a playpen for our beardie! He isn’t fond of it but we are going to get some items to have that are different than his enclosure. He does LOVE hanging out in my late afternoon sunshine windows! So we are buying him a window platform to soak up sun comfortably.
Adding to the playpen thing, you can get ones with a zippered top to keep the animal you want in and other animals out so you don’t have to worry about a cat, dog, bird, etc getting to your reptile easily. I have one for my collection of 15 reptiles of 7 different species. Granted, not all of them are “playpen” type reptiles (like my mourning geckos and brown anoles) but it works for most of them.
Just an add on suggestion for outside, make sure it’s grass that hasn’t been treated by chemicals. Keep a close eye on birds too depending how small your reptile is, a hognose for example is easy pickings for a bird
My ball python, Indiana Jones, LOVES to climb. He's also surprisingly good at it. It's almost like I bought a tree python. I'm going to try to make the peg board :) I never thought of using those climbing wall steps, thanks!
I'm going to be getting a bearded dragon and I am going to make it my emotional support animal. This video was very helpful for me to find ways to provide enrichment for my current scale babies. Great video!
Can you plesse one more i have a corn snake an he love to Push the ball Around All Over his tank after i have give him his ball he just look so muth happier so thanks ❤
I have a leopard gecko that um, enjoys food a lot. Hes an amazing ester but i tried the lazer pointer and he was pretty interested. He followed it around and everything
I would add that it depends on the individual animal. If they’re shy, like my male Ball Python, going outside or in a bath would totally freak him out. Like you said, depth of water is important. Most Ball Pythons don’t want to bathe and they don’t want to float, it’s a powerless feeling for them. I’m glad you had the towel in the bath for he BP pictured so it can feel the ground. Also, with BP’s, be careful of height with climbing things. They’re clumsy and a fall can hurt them. Love your videos, Elle, and the sticker I got from you with Darwin and Marie’s names look great on their enclosures!!🐍❤️🐍
I take my ball pythons outside in our garden, they genuinely get curious about the plants and would push it with their necks to sort of feel the texture i think
I've seen so many beardies on tik tok playing with them, and even people training their bearded dragons with balls on sticks. Bearded dragons are so interesting 😊
@@ellesreptiles That would be great to see you build the wall to get ideas from when I build one. I habe the plywood just need dowels or maybe the foam board and expanding foam. GOD BLESS 🔨🐍💖
I try to get mine to hunt the insects a bit, and then I take him out occasionally. Good suggestion here, good to activate a little for reptiles in captivity😇 Greetings from Norway 😁
My painted wood turtle loves bath time I have a big water container she loves using as a bathtub and I'm going to clean it today and in the Summer I take her outside to the backyard and let her explore she loves it but only in the summer Illinois sucks in the winter
I’m going to be raising dubia roaches and mealworms for my dragon but do I need to do more? Or can I order other bugs and use them sparingly for treats and such
I am sorry that I missed this video. I have a Schneider's Skink that is definitely different from my Leopard Gecko. He loves to climb despite his little legs (I try not to laugh at his lack of coordination.) He literally begs to come out of his enclosure all day. I do take him out several times. But I am worried that it may not be warm enough. Is there anything I can do to make sure he doesn't get too cold. (Fun Fact - be careful if your lizard likes to sit on your head during work video calls. You may get the nickname Khalessi.) I put a guinea pig wheel in his enclosure and he loves it. But he is still super board. What do you recommend to keep an energetic smaller skink entertained? I was thinking maybe a maze of hamster tubes?
This video was awesome! One question though, if you bring your reptile outdoors, isn’t it a concern that they pick up germs, disease, or a parasite? Especially animals raised in captivity
I've never had an issue with it, but you could always just use a playpen outside if you're worried. That way they're still outside getting sunshine and sounds and feeling the wind, but not coming into contact with the ground. 😊
I have a bearded dragon he is 11 months and is extremely terrified of the outside world and I have tried letting him slowly get used to it but he just puffs up and runs and tries to go back inside.
I have a few questions ... one of them is that I have a new baby bearded dragon ... been with us for 2.5 days ... he doesn't seem stressed and will eat some greens from my hand ... does this mean that he is acclimating well? He seems very inquisitive me us while we work, we keep him in our home office where we spend a large part of our day.
@@ellesreptiles thank you for that ... I feel much more confident now ... soon, I will build him a custom forever home ... he will have loads of enrichment there
My leopard gecko actually ran after the laser light when I was going to measure the temperature with temp gun :D lol 😅 (important not to light it on the reptile🥰
can someone help me find the balls with the hexagon or octagon holes all over them? i cannot for the life of me figure out how to search for them lmfao

I didn’t know u could put stuffed animals and soft blankets in their enclosure 😲. Phoenix is gonna look so cute ☺️

Great ideas! I bring my reptile’s tanks outside every day and let them soak in the natural UVB! Thanks for sharing
Natural UVB is so good for them ♥️
I'm building my bearded dragon an outdoor enclosure. Can't wait to finish it
That sounds awesome! That's going to be a happy dragon 🥰
Your videos are so great and I love Bearded Dragons so much and your videos are amazing
I totally want to try the blanket idea!
love your voice, love the video. sometimes I take my corn snake outside :) he loves it
Thank you so much! And that's awesome. I can't wait for it to stay warm outside so I can start taking my animals outside regularly again 😊
I need that shirt!
Thanks for another great video 🪳
Good morning Elle, hope your Sunday is amazing!! Another wonderful and informative video for Reptile lovers!!
Good morning! I hope your Sunday is amazing as well. And thank you! 😊
@@ellesreptiles your welcome and thank you Ma'am!! 😊
I have used my thermometer that has a Lazer and my leopard geckos loves it
I have my snake a bath the other day 😊
I put drift wood in my leos enclosure and he loves climbing it.
Hi Elle, hope you had a great day. Mine was a little hectic lol, just sitting to relax and watch videos . Love the peg board idea. Have a great week!
I'm glad you finally get to relax! I hope you have a fantastic week as well 😊
My leos favorite enrichment is playing in a pile of clothes fresh out of the dryer.
Hahaha I bet! Nice and warm
Thanks so much Elle!!!! You are such an inspiration to me!!! Keep doing what you are doing!!!!!!!
Thank you 🥺♥️

Our ball pythons love exploring outside too! I can't wait until summer so I can start taking all the animals outside regularly again.
I think that is a great thing to do.
Im getting a snake soon and I'm definitely getting them a cat tree i love that
♥️ that's awesome! Just make sure you watch them, of course 😊
Thank you for this I’m thinking of getting Rexy my bearded dragon a cat pole thing even though it’s for a snake 👍😂
You're welcome! Just make sure your beardie doesn't fall! ♥️
I definitely need to try giving our dragon a ball to see if she plays with it!

Another informative video thinks I will try the climbing wall for snakes
Have a great Sunday and see you next week.

Thank you!
I tried a laser pointer for my previous beardie a while back. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t
Someone said their leopard geckos and BTS love it, so I'm definitely going to try it with other reptiles too, because Zsasz refuses 😅
Thanks Elle! I love the ball idea! Do you think the snake peg board could work for a Kenyan sand boa?

About 85-90 ºF, or whatever their warm spot is
