You read that title right. We are water cooling a PS5 in this video!!!!
I have seen it done and never really thought I would be doing it, but low and behold... Here it is! I decided to go all EK for this build and no, none of this was sponsored. If you want to know how much this build cost me... Well... Sadly enough to build an awesome gaming PC... I have around $2,500 invested in this PS5 build. BUT! I have something extremely unique!

I came here from the Dexerto tweet, pretty cool build!
Thank you!! Appreciate that!!!
33celsius with spiderman? Woooooow👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
water temp
Came out clean, costed an arm and a leg but now you get to say you have a water cooled ps5 looks great!
Thank you! Haha right! Definitely something unique!
Superb, both in the production quality of this video and the build itself. Bravo sir! 👏🏽
Thank you! I definitely do try to make them as great as possible!!
There is a lot of effort, my purpose in commenting is to congratulate you again and to contribute to getting your video in front of more people. I hope this effort will reach many more people, see you!! :)
Thank you for this!! Its always appreciated for sure!
In a few weeks you're probably Gonna be building a PS5 in a PS2 Shell or something You're so cool
LOL that would be pretty interesting haha "Retro Mod"
Great build. Unique too!!!
Thank you buddy!!! Definitely tried for that one for sure!!!
This is awesome. Love the video.
Thank you buddy, appreciate that!!
Underrated channel! You just got a new sub😬
Thank you!! Really appreciate that!!! 🙌🙌
Pretty awesome video idea. I love the idea of custom consoles.
Thank you! It was a lot of fun to build I will be honest!
Damn that is clean! Love it!
Thank you!!
Nicely done good sir! Keep it up, these builds are killer.
Appreciate that for sure!!
Love the Case, love the Idea. Awesome Build
Appreciate that buddy!!!
this is the coolest thing ive seen, definitely do an update for us on testing the difference in temps between this and a stock ps5 perhaps! I wonder if framerates stay steady with this build considering my stock ps5 drops frames in Warzone. Looking forward to more content 🔥 🙌🏽
Absolutely!!! May have to get a stock PS5 to test side by side to see what it looks like!!!
Appreciate it!!!
Good stuff. This is really cool!
Thank you!!
Sick af I’m a pc builder. I can appreciate a good build no matter what it is even a console build! Great job
Thank you! I really appreciate that!!
A truly great PS5 build
Thank you!! System runs great!!
Hi, great work, is it possible to know how your plus USB port, HDMI and start button please ?
Thank you!
So all of the ports that would be on the back of the PS5 normally (USB, Ethernet, and HDMI) are all still there and fully functional for plugging into. The ports you lose when doing this are the front USB ports and the power switch/reset button. As long as you have a controller that is synced with the PS5, all you do is turn on the power switch and then press the PS button on the controller and the PS5 boots up like normal. When you are done, you will need to do a full shut down on the PS5 so that way you can flip the power switch that controls everything. This way your fans, RGB, and water loop pump dont constantly run.
beatifull job
Thank you!
wow this is insane
Thank you!
@@PidgyPCs np
@@PidgyPCs Hey if you dont mind me asking is it possible to change my os to the ps5's os witch then turns my pc into a ps5 ?
I am sure there is a way, I just have no knowledge on how to do something like that
@@PidgyPCs Ok thx for your response
You should add it to the loop of your PC. ^^
I did have thoughts of doing this, but I could not find a case that would support both a ATX motherboard and a MATX motherboard (PS5 is MATX). All of the cases I found only supported a ITX and ATX. Thats why I put it in a case just by itself
Could you do a video on how you powered it and how you got the disc drive on too as you skipped that in the video tbh
So the waterblock takes the power pin and converts it to a 2x 8pin PCIe cable for a PC power supply.
In terms of the disk drive, its the same cables thats used in the PS5. I just mounted the disk drive in a spot that allowed the cables to reach the back of the board where they plug into 😁
I already have a watercooled 4090 build. But i have a ps5 slim just lying round for casual play and was curious if i could actually make a baby pc out of it. Welp looks like i found my new project.
You are probably going to have to make a custom water block for it, but anything is possible!!! Have fun with the project!!!
@@PidgyPCs yea i saw they aren’t producing it anymore, but i did find one in stock on a Portuguese website. I have family there by pure luck, gonna see what i can do there :)
Good luck on getting it!!! Hope it works out for your slim model 😁
How come you couldn't wire up the power and eject buttons? You mentioned that as the for setting up before hand.
When the water block is installed it completely covers up the ports for the ribbon cables that connect the power/eject button daughter board
Love your content Alpha Custrome recommended you me and glade he did
Thank you!!! Dan is a great guy for sure!!
This was dope!!!
Thank you!!
Daaaamn, nice job
Thank you!!
Bro prepared his PS5 for GTA 6 already 🫡
LOL facts!!
The pro will still be better 🫠
@@Casiot It really will. This waterblock only fit a certain generation PS5 though so I had to use this one
@@PidgyPCs don’t get me wrong this water cooled ps5 is impressive, but as far as being prepared for a game like gta 6, top of the line specs is necessary and that would be PC but since no one wants to wait for gta 6 to drop on PC, the next best thing is the ps5 pro, but props to you for your creativity
@@Casiot I get that completely! I honestly dont know if I will just wait till GTA6 drops for the PC or if I will buy it for 1 of my consoles as well so I can play it before the PC release. Just have to see the time frame of release.
Appreciate it for sure though!!!
Sick build, but what pump does 350l/h?
Thank you! Its the EK DDC pump
Where is the disc gonna go in?
Disc drive is where the rear IO is. Its bolted to the case 😁
NGL, I'd love to do this rofl.
Haha it was a blast!!
❤🎉🎉🎉 so cool!!
Thank you!!
This looks really cool, but may i ask how it affects the PS5's performance? Obviously the temperature will be lower, but will it run faster or something?
Unfortunately no. The performance will stay the exact same due to consoles being locked at a certain performance. The only benefit this gives is lower temps for the system and a quieter operation.
Ok, I’m not sure what is the ATX 24pin connector is used for to power it on and off.
What did you do for your build?
So in order to make the PSU work, a 24pin short cable was installed with a jumper attached to it. This way all you have to do is just turn on the PSU and give everything power.
In terms of whats in the build, I have all of that in the description of the video 🙂
@@PidgyPCs all good. I’ve watched. Was only curious about the connection for powering it up. Sucks that having to use a bridge and then manually turning it on and off.
@@AusRED5 So you can wire it with a on-off switch as well so that way you can turn the PSU on with the push of a button, but I couldnt find a spot on the case that would actually look good. So I just left it as a flipping of the PSU switch
@@PidgyPCs right…. I understand that thought but it’s hard to explain here but on my PS4 build. There is a way to power on and off that will switch the PSU off like on a PC.
There is a blog about this and I’ve made my own version of it. But due to the way EK has built the PS5 block using the PCI E cables. I’m not sure how to translate the PS4 cable idea to the PS5.
Anyways.
@@AusRED5 I get what you are saying
Too cool
Thank you!
The mono block are no longer in production according the website.
Wow, so it didnt last long at all before it went EOL
As someone who watches a lot of content on RUclips, you need to work on thumbnails man! You 100% shouldve had an awesome picture of the water cooled ps5 as the thumbnail instead of just you and a ps5, only clicked because I saw it on twitter
Just wanted to give some advice from a yt addict 😎
Appreciate that!! That is something I am actively working on 😁
I fixed the Thumbnail, let me know if it looks better :)
@@PidgyPCs looks much better dude! keep up the good work :D
Thank you!!
What does something like this cost to build?
This cost me around $2500 to build including the PS5 bundle
hey do you wanna water cool my xbox series x ???? and also is that the Asus 42" 4k oled 138 hz display ??
Appreciate the offer, but I dont have any plans to water cool another console at the moment LOL
And yes, that is the ASUS ROG Swift 42" 4K OLED monitor 😁
Idea 💡 = 10/10
Editing = 7/10
Voice = 10/10
Try adding subtitles and a better thumbnail maybe 🤔
When it came to my feed I wasn't going to click but when U saw it closely It was a Water cooled PS5! ,😲
@@SarkariAccount Appreciate the feed back!
@@PidgyPCs I also noticed that ugly thumbnail covering a beast
Didnt want to give to much away with the thumbnail ;)
@@PidgyPCs I can understand how that might be a fine line to walk. I have every bit of faith that you will get something that works for you and the viewers.
É DISSO QUE EU ESTOU FALANDO !
Haha thanks!!!
Can we see benchmarks
So I will be honest that I don't have the slightest clue about how to get benchmarks off a Console. In terms of temps, aside from mounting a temp probe to the die itself and monitoring it outside the case, there isn't a way to track the temps. Coolant I can kind've guesstimate what the actual temp on the system is. For FPS, I don't know of any software that is console compatible that will allow me to see what the FPS is before and after.
Cant really do a before at this point unless I buy another exact model PS5 to test. What I do know is that the coolant temp does not exceed 35°C. In the past when I have seen that coolant temp, that means the component its going over is in the high 50s / low 60s for temps.
From all the data I have collected in regards to the PS5 as well as other people who have done this mod say that there is no performance benefit aside from a cooler running system that is also quieter. That I can confirm. But for the performance side of things, it doesnt matter if its stock or water cooled, it will perform the exact same.
Well 😅 I guess the point of getting a console. is that it's smaller than a PC. But cool build
@everythingnothing3026 LMAO so I had intensions of making it smaller, but because of the disk drive that was no longer an option 😂
Ok but no testing?
So where does one buy this block
The block unfortunately is now EOL. So really the only place to get one would be eBay
How do u insert the discs?
Disk drive is attached to the back of the case 🙂
@@PidgyPCs that's cool af
Nice
Thank you!
awesome
Thank you!!
You are so intelligent
Thank you
Why did you not go for a slim if I may ask?
The PCB wouldnt work for this waterblock. The waterblock is only compatible with the model prior to the Slim that was released between October of 2022 and November of 2023
can i buy it ????
I would not sell this system because the amount of money that was spent on it could have built a really nice PC
So the real question what’s your favorite PlayStation now that it’s up and running! Or the one you’re looking forward to playing?
Still love me some God of War. Probably my favorite PS game :)
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!!
How did you mount and wire the disk drive to Mobo?
So the PlayStation 5 PCB when its mounted in the waterblock, the ports for the wires/ribbon cable are un covered and on the back side of the block. The wires were long enough to reach the disk drive on the side of the case :)
@@PidgyPCs cool! How did you mount the disk drive to PC case?
Nuts, bolts, and washers from the local hardware store LOL. A 6/32 bolt is just big enough to fit through the hole of the disk drive perfectly without modifying anything. Only thing I had to do was bend the tab just slightly on the back side so that way the disk drive comes on and off easily
@@PidgyPCs cool thanks!
@@tiagoj8020 No problem!
When Xbox build?
When the block comes out 😁
Awesome build, the only thing I wouldn't replicate is removing the liquid metal to put thermal paste, other than that its perfect 👌🏻💯
Thank you!! Yeah I questioned if I should or not LOL, really appreciate it though!!
THERES A 4TB M.2
...brb.
Let me know if you need a link ;)
Ps5 pro block
this literally just proves that consoles are just limited pc's, why not just get a pc? No disrepect to the youtube author btw, excellent work
Thank you!
I completely agree! With the amount of money I spent on this system I could have built a phenomenal PC. I mainly just did this because 1 I thought it was cool and also because I felt it would be good for the channel :)
@@PidgyPCs not debating that at all, it is definitely cool that you did this.
Coz I can't build a decent PC for the same price. And consoles are just easier. Put in game. Game run.
@@SYRLEY06 I press play, it runs. I don't get this argument.
@@cassthenerd6023 i dont have to check the required specs before buying and tweak my settings to make a game run fine with the best settings my device can handle.
And the only people who don't need to do this are people who spent a lot more than the price of a ps5, on their pc.
Thats what I mean by "i insert game, game runs".
Man this audio is blown out on the narrating. You should record it again and fix this.
Apologies for that. I thought I lowered it down enough for the video, but still having issues
@@PidgyPCsit does distort a tiny bit at times but not nearly enough to tarnish the quality of the video. Definitely not enough to make it worth re-recording. Everything you say is audible, don’t worry about it. Just make adjustments for the following videos.
@@JTCavey will do!! 😁
and since its ek, it retires.
Yeah, i noticed that as well that the block is officially EOL
ps5 gaming pc ahh 😭😭
Hehe yes!
Looks = 10/10
Performance gain = 0/10
Money lost = 100%
Lol facts
cool, but pointless to spend that money in a console
i dont like this turd console but i admit i would do the same just to get rid of that fugly design and terrible cooling ideas Sony had damn
