Followed Buzz since I first heard him in 1968 on Butterfield's Keep On Moving and with the same band same year at the Fillmore in San Francisco. Always among my top favorites. But he never plays live anymore. Went to New York with a girlfriend in 2016 to see him at the Cutting Room. But he was a no show. I wish he played in LA where he lives. That's an easy throw from Northern California. Everything he plays is wonderful.

Yeah, I remember him from Butterfield too. I saw him with them in Chicago, i think at the Auditorium. I do remember he used a blue telecaster. His solo on "keep on Movin" ......"Where did my Baby Go" still rings in my head, I still have that on Vinyl.....and he was just a kid. Great player, unique in a field where that is not an easy thing to be.

It is always great and inspiring to hear musicians who go 100% into their music. Instrumental music like this keeps me going. Feiten is inspiring to me because he was great when very young ... Rascals and Full Moon -- but now listen to him go! every note is just what it needs to be! The first cut has really got me psyched up.

Just discovered this. What a treat. Buzzy is as good as it gets...otherwise it just gets different. His soulful melodic passionate playing just hits me straight in the gut. There's a lot of players that are "technically" incredible but they don't hit me like this. Buzzy has it all. Taste, phrasing, playfulness, melodic intricacy, his own unique style, soul, all of it. Thank you Buzz for being one of my biggest influences and one who has overcome demons to continue to share his incredible creativity to the world. I'm simply in awe of you brother. Much love to you always JP

Some additional remarks on Buzz' explanations on the BZ tuning system.
    - the first fret sharp phenomenon relates to the mathematical formular ONLY applying to an ideal string. In the real world, strings have thickness, are build out of specific material, all this influencing their stiffness, how the overtone series of a string develops (BTW thats the reason, why extralong scale basses sound better: the string thickness to fretboard length ratio gets better, or the string gets thinner in relation to the fretboard length, which enables better overtones).
    - piano tuning: please keep in mind, that a piano string only has to produces exactly one (1) pitch. Which allows for perfect tuning. Whereas a guitar sting in conjunction with the fretboardplacement has to produce up to 24 different pitches. Much more complexity to the task.

I was watching "No Direction Home" and I paused it when Dylan laughed at the mention of Mike Bloomfield . So i checked him out, found Paul Butterfield and ended up with this absolute master guitarist....all in the space of about 15 minutes. I still have Dylan paused and this guy is the best guitarist I've heard in a long time. I've been listening to a lot of Rory Gallagher this weekend so maybe Its just serendipity ...

I just discovered Buzz this morning. RUclips showed me a Paul Butterfield blues band at Woodstock video. I watched it, and a young kid was ripping up some blues guitar. A comment on the video said his name was Buzzy Feiten. I searched RUclips wondering what happened to him, and came up with this. I love RUclips just because of this. I can see bands I never ever would have seen, playing live all over the world from the 50s until today.

The ferocious sting of Buzzy's guitar is legendary. Whether playing with Paul Butterfield, the Rascals, Full Moon or Dave Weckl, B's fiercely funky attack never fails to thrill. How lucky that when god invented the electric guitar he made sure to put one in B's hands, because that's what prayer is meant to sound like.

Buzzy Feiten Played With Jimi Hendrix Back in the Day. I Wonder What He Learned From Him and His Playing. He is on A DVD That is Getting Hard to Find Called Paul Butterfield Live in Rockpalast Germany Blues Legends Vol. 2 Try Amazon. He Smokes on Guitar and is Backed By Another Great Guitar Player Peter Atanasoff. you Can Find it on Amazon Maybe or Watch it on RUclips if it's There. it is Getting Hard to Find. But This Guy is Not Mentioned in the Music, World Much or Not A Lot of People Know Who He is. I Think He is Underrated. What you See in the Video is Really Great Playing By 2. How can all these musical students sit as a musical audience without moving there heads or bodies when listening to funk like this? It seems as an odd and much to indifferent response to this magic performance. Maybe they are much to much in there heads, and will end up as doctor or lawyers, and not musicians? Maybe they dont appreciate magic music at all? Sorry but I just have to ask.
