One thing that has drawn me to the NRSV lately is it is a translation that’s not controlled by a single publisher or denomination. That’s fairly rare today when you think about it.

As far as the cool look of this Bible it is one of my very very favorite Bibles. And it is quality leather and construction with a great translation. I am about to buy this right now. I wish they would also make this exact Bible in the NRSVue also. I would snap it up immediately.

I always learn something new about Bibles watching your channel and I love that. I love the color Bibles myself, but Black is the Classic.
A 10 POINT FONT looks very good in the comfort print and the space on either side also makes it quite readable I think. Love the 2 column layout.
I do have a NRSV Bible made by Cambridge but THIS one is certainly calling to me. I love the Nelson Premier Collection.
This is hands-down my favorite Bible to come out this year and will quickly become my daily reader.

Very impressed! They’ve taken the best from other premiums, the speckles, the purple, edge lined…I love that it’s purple liner, the size… only wish it was in another translation. Love it has the Apocrypha though.

I wish they would make THIS Bible in the same size but in a lot of other translations like the NASB 95..CSB Etc.
Maybe add a blue cover
And a red one.
I have TLB(the Living Bible) paraphrase with the apocrypha, catholic edition, I love the Bible having additional books, very interesting read.
Great Bible, I love mine! I think I would have liked it to have references, but I am not sure I go back and forth on this. It is a nice reading Bible even if it is two column text. I am looking forward to what 2022 brings when the NRSVue text should be available to publishers!

My new church reads from this bible so I had to buy this gorgeous version and I love speckled edges on bibles and have even applied my own on some bibles I have. I'm an artist, btw, so it's worth it to experiement! Thanks so much for this review, Tim. I have seen this bible of yours when you made this video but had no reason to get one from Evangelical Bibles until now, plus it is currently only $105US but of course costs me more with currency conversion and shipping is a fair bit more. I love the size, too, but will change those ribbon colours. Can't wait to see it! Greetings from Australia!

I have never read the Apocrypha but in parts .
But it would be fun to read and comfortable in this size BIBLE and with comfort PRINT.
Next to blue ...purple is my favourite colour.

NRSV is in my top translations to read, surpassed only by the RSV and KJV/AV. Might pick this one up! :)

I really like the size of this bible. A goldilocks bible for me. Plus I really like the translation. 10 point font in comfort print is dark. Bold enough to be fun to READ.

@@patrickmarriott471 They’ve done a few ESV editions (like the MacArthur study Bible), but I think they only license it from Crossway for special runs.

Hey Tim! Does the apocrypha let you know between which verses the additions in Daniel belong? I always scratch my head when publishers include the apocrypha but then don’t tell you where the additions to Daniel, bel and a dragon, etc belong. In other words, let us know where these apocryphal writings would be placed if it was a Catholic Bible.

Different size, and the layout is different... but overall quality is the same.

36 GSM is better for me than 28 GSM especially in THIS size BIBLE.
What helps you focus more, double or single column?
Hmmm… I’m not sure.
@@timwildsmith It’s really a debate in my head. If I could read double column and it not bother me, it would open up way more Bible possibilities, especially the Quentel. I just don’t want to sacrifice ability to focus with materials.
Also, I think the audience would enjoy hearing your opinions on single vs double column! Just an idea
I don’t think one is necessarily better for focus than the other. It’s really a personal preference.
I want to invest in a Bible for rebind. The rebind is about 450$. Do you feel this would be a good candidate? I want the apocrypha because of my church. & I don’t want to rebeind a Schuyler. But I want something that will last and has great craftsmanship to invest that much money into. Thanks!
If you really like this text block, then yes, I think it’s a great option (I really think you need to LOVE an interior layout in order to pay for a rebind).

@@timwildsmith do you feel like this being “smith sewn” in China makes it less durable than say the Schuyler ? Or where does Zondervan cut costs?? Is it lower quality leather? In which case I don’t care because I’ll rebind. More trying to understand why this is so much cheaper than a Schuyler?? Any insight? Thanks
A good-size... almost a Goldilocks Bible.
I personally do not like the speckle. It makes it look like some kind of processed cured meat with bits in it (which on the other hand is delicious).
