    *MISC Fortune - Will It Make You a Fortune? | Star Citizen Review*
    The MISC Fortune is here, and I put it to the test to see if this ship lives up to its name! 🚀💰
    In this review, I take the Fortune through its paces-scraping hulls, ejecting cargo, and offloading to see how well it handles the logistics of turning salvage into profit. But the big question remains: *Will the MISC Fortune actually make you a fortune?*
    I break down its strengths, weaknesses, and whether it's worth the investment for solo and group players alike. If you're thinking about picking up this ship, you won’t want to miss this deep dive!
    Let me know your thoughts-would you buy the Fortune? Or is it just another ship in the ever-growing fleet of industrial haulers?

    Salvaged all day yesterday for hours and I love the Fortune. Melted my Vulture this morning. Although it doesnt scrap as fast as the Vulture it makes the time up in not running up and down the ladder manually moving boxes. Kind of get tired of manually moving the boxes in the ship then moving boxes to the hangar elevator its just too much. Only having to move it to the Hangar elevator is NICE!

      Problem is that it takes an extra 10 minutes to fill up its buffer. Stacking boxes for 2 minutes in the vulture saves 8 minutes from the slower salvage speed of the fortune

    • @Wayne72LEVRAI
      @Wayne72LEVRAI 7 дней назад +3

      You have to exit the seat of the Vulture only 2 time each run (only one more than the Fortune)... With the managing of your cargo containers (who are WAY easier than for the Fortune), it take in grand total : 5 minutes on your entire run. So please stop with this outdated argument, the Vulture have seen the size of his buffer extended from 2 to 13 a LONG time ago.

    The Vulture may be better, but I love the Fortune more.. I like the looks better, and for lazy me.. the auto loading is great. Plus the layout inside is better as I hated the Vulture of climbing up and down all the time to get to the hold. Also the MISC ship travels further, so its kind of like an Explorer x Salvager to me. A perfect daily ship.

      You have to exit the seat of the vulture only two times by run, only one time more than for the Fortune and you don't have to go outside to take each container.
      So "climbing up and down all the time" is over exaggerated plus i prefer to climb a ladder up and down one time than to go pick each container one by one outside, this is less painfull 🙄
      The only thing i like on the Fortune for now is how it look, specially with paint. He his so inferior to the Vulture that CIG will be forced to upgrade it anyway, wich is a good thing.

    • @Persuasion94
      @Persuasion94 7 дней назад

      @Wayne72LEVRAI Yeah I don't see this being an upgrade in time saving if you want to min max like a vulture. If you want to stuff the Fortune with crates, you have to go outside, put them on the lift, go up the lift, take the boxes off into the hallways, go down the lift, put more boxes on the lift, go up the lift and unload another 4 in the hallways, go down the lift, load another 4 on the lift. Float to the front and enter from the side entrance, and have 13 more internal. You can definitely stuff a fortune too, but with the slower slavage and the cargo being outside, you will spend a lot more time moving cargo around than a vulture.

  • @theonefrancis696
    @theonefrancis696 День назад

    Fortune: You take more time to scrap but you save time when making boxes.
    Vulture: You scrap faster but box management is manual.
    All in all, the amount of time you spend is the same, it's a matter of preference at this point.

    I was in the middle of hull scraping some panels at an asteroid cluster in Pyro in a Fortune the other day when I saw a player fast approaching me. I assumed they weren't just checking me out, they were probably going to attack, so I got out of there fast. I had about 4 RMC in the buffer + 12 on the cargo grids at that point; if I'd been using a Vulture instead, I might've been able to fully fill it up before the other player found me.

    In reality..... you can fit more than 39 scu of cargo in this ship...... it has an advantage and it is..... the boxes fit trough the doors quite easily, so you can stuff the ship with boxes in the inside..... you just have to leave space so you can get out trough the front door, that amazingly, being a misc ship.... actually WORKS to get out!..... it requires a lot of work repositioning boxes so.... there goes the advantage of automatic box placing in the cargo grid, but it will make good money for you , even a little more than the vulture if you do the required work.

    I got rid of my Vulture for the Fortune. Sure, it's a bit slower, but its.much more convenient.
    Unloading is super fast... just a few clicks and the boxes are on the ground.
    And at some point cargo off grid will actually damage your ship... and by then the vulture will have lost its advantage in cargo (even tho you can load exactly the same amount of boxes into the fortune... it's just more complicated to do so. )

People say... "You can put a lot more boxes inside the Fortune!" - Good luck making the boxes pass the doors! 🤣 Those doors aren't a rectangle. They are rounded. It's hard to pass a box there. Not to mention that different from the Vulture which has arms in the front. In the misFORTUNE, the first thing that will hit if bump into something while scraping will be your cockpit where you will going to die. This ship is nice but should cost less than the Vulture. If that happen it would be fair!

    • @Wayne72LEVRAI
      @Wayne72LEVRAI 7 дней назад +1

      I agree, the only argument of people in favor of the Fortune over the Vulture is "you have to exit your seat all the time" wich isn't true, it was true a long time ago when the buffer of the Vulture was 2 SCU but it was upgraded to 13 SCU, so you only have to exit your seat two times for each run, wich is only one time more than the Fortune.
      In total exiting your seat two times, printing and managing your containers take only 5 to 6 minutes on your entire salvage run, wich isn't true for the Fortune if you wan't to put more cargo inside of the ship.
      To be clear for now the Fortune is pure garbage (in fact he is only bad priced, it should have been the entry level salvage around $120), but since he his priced so high (and will be priced over the Vulture in game, exactly like the prospector), it leave no other choice for CIG than to upgrade it. Grow the size of the salvage head or double stack the outside cargo grid.
      This is their choice.

    You say it's easier to unload from ship to freight elevator but I park my Vulture with the back open towards the elevator, take a couple boxes out from standing just outside and then I go in and bvasically push the crates to the elevator so I never had an issue, or found unloading the Vulture a problem with ease and speed. Sure this you don't have to go down the ladder (drop down backwards and its faster) twice to play tetris but tetris doesn't take very long each time anyway. If this was priced maybe $50 cheaper it would be good as a starter salvage ship, but priced the same as the Vulture is too much for 1 scrapper arm vs 2 and less cargo space if I want to load up some larger weapons taken from ships into the back.
    Nice ship aesthetically yes, the cargo grid on the outside being automatic is nice, but the 1 scrapper negates that time saved not playing tetris. If it was say a size 2 I could put that would be better. That or I'd be ok with the current IF they allowed 12 scu on each side instead of 6.
    Overall, nice ship but Vulture is still a bit better min/max or not. I think it's only a matter of aesthetic preferences at this point since a lot of people don't seem to like Drake's aesthetics. I personally love Drake ships so I like my Vulture. I may buy the Vulture in-game then change to this so I can fly both to personally test just for fun.

    Kornelius, here is the workaround for the anoying cockpit mfd lighting bug:
    The cockpit has three cockpit interior lighting modes: 1) off, 2) on, 3) alert mode. These can be controlled from the inside of the cockpit, the switch is located on the door control panel at the left side of the door, when facing away from the seat. Switch the interior light to ON. This should result in the white lighting panel on the ceiling displaying a white texture. Do not use OFF or ALERT mode. Now enter the seat and the ugly lighting of the top mfd's should be gone.
    The Fortune seems to spawns with the cockpit lights either On or on Alert mode. So, if need be, switch them on and enjoy salvaging in darkenss. o7

    Do not get the more cargo in vulture, the vulture has a grid of 12 + 13 in the hopper, Fortune can use the elevator to hold/ load a 8 SCU crate that you can fill adding 8 to the 6 + 6 + 13 in the hopper.
    So my math comes to 25 for the vulture and 33 for the fortune when using grid and hopper, so how is the fortune less ?
    Yes, i know you can store stuff off grid (for now ) but that goes for both ships and i feel like the fortune has again more room off grid then the vulture ?
    Addendum :
    Having watched more vids on the fortune and reading your responses i agree 39 in a vulture where grid and hopper is 25 is nice but in one of the vids i watched someone claims that he got the fortune to 47 SCU so there is that.
    And it is true that 2 heads are better then one, you can place the 12 boxes on the outside without stopping to go to a cargo hold to move them from the hopper onto the grid like in the vulture.
    True to use the lift grid and move the boxes into the ship (fortune) would need you to go EVA but you don't need to play Tetris with 33 of the SCU.
    So i still don't think that one is better then the other, it feels like both are good but for different reasons and there for maybe for different players.
    In the end i don't think it really matters as long as you have fun flying them.

Also i have seen some that own the fortune claim that the area they scrape is bigger the a single head of the vulture so that may offset some of the speed.

      If you stick to just the grid, the Vulture has 12 plus on in the "poop pad" plus 13 in the buffer for 26. The Fortune has 6 on each side plus 4 on the lift plus two "poop pads" plus the 13 in the buffer for 31. That's just on-grid.
      Going off grid, the Fortune has lots of room inside. In summary, the Fortune just holds more than the Vulture.
      It does scrape slower, is slower, and can't hide. So the Vulture is probably better overall, but capacity is a Fortune advantage.
