Glad to see a DW on the show!
I wonder where it came from. Lol
I have the 9 1/2 inch SRH, I remember thinking how ugly I thought it was when I first saw it 15+ years ago then one day out of the blue it became the most beautiful handgun I had ever seen and had to have it. This year I will be gifting it to my now adult daughter who first laid eyes on it as a little girl when daddy unwrapped it from under the Christmas tree. She has been firing full power loads out of it since 14 yrs old and is the clear successor to my hammer of THOR.
Believe it or not, the dan wesson weights more than the super redhawk. I couldn't believe it
@@revolverroundup would have never guessed that for sure.
Yes, we had fun.
It's interesting how one learns stuff. Who would have thought one barrel is slower than another. Being barrels of the same length.
Good stuff, now to run over to the channel merch store.
There are many things that can affect velocity. Learn something new every day! Thanks for the support bud!
Let us know what you think of the merch store, and I'm glad you learned something I do all the time still with all this.
@@revolverroundup As for the merch store. It looks like a good beginning. Keep up the good work!
Thank you buddy appreciate it.
Met you at Qtown Armory. Had me cracking up with the 6+ revolvers concealed 😂
Good to see you buddy thanks for commenting and watching.
👍👍great job guys, always fun seeing the velocities of different barrel lengths. It’s been a long day……left the house this morning at 6:30 and arrived in Houston Texas at 5pm to go to a wedding on Monday. Hope y’all are having a great weekend.
Where did you leave from lol. We appreciate you thank you buddy

Alabama! I went through there on my recent trip to Texas. Loved it down there
@@RRCameraMan 👍👍yep, born and raised here and never had a reason to leave. A good place to live and very gun friendly. I live in a very rural area about 25 miles south of Montgomery our state capital.
The Dan Wesson surprised me. Makes me wonder what major differences among DW barrel lengths there would be. I'd bet we would be surprised.
Your probably right
Paul Harrell did one before, but I think it was in .357 Magnum.
With DW's it depends a LOT on where you set the cylinder gap. It's pretty easy to back it out when you tighten the barrel nut.
Always wanted a S&W-29, blued finish, .44-mag with a 6" barrel. Just like Clint Eastwood used in Magnum Force and Dirty Harry movies. If only to go to the shooting range to say, "feeling lucky punk?"
That was a fun one, Gents! Seems that Rugeritis isn't the horrible affliction that we were led to believe...😂
Would definitely be funny if it turned out CameraMan doped the Super Redhawk barrel w/ a little goose grease before the shoot, but it's doubtful his Bride would allow such shenanigans (and I'm sure she's vigilantly watching 😂)
Always possible lol
Fun stuff guys. God Bless.
God bless you brother! Thanks for watching Greybeard
God bless, thanks for supporting us
Good thing about my Dan Wesson HB 44 mag is that I have the 2.5" (looks kinda silly on that big gun) the 4" a 5" (yes it is a custom made and my favorite) and an 8 3/8" also nice is I can adjust the barrel cylinder gap to whatever. I used to set it about four thou but with the cast and coated (HT) bullets I can get away with as little as two thou... at least for maybe 50 or 100 rounds before wiping the surfaces with my version of eds red. BC gap seems to make a pretty fair difference in velocites... and... this could be my imagination but cylinders that turn the direction Colts revolvers do seen to just have better velocities..... maybe lockup? turning the Smith direction the hand is actually trying to push the cylinder open Colt the hand is pushing it closed even tighter. The difference is small but it seems (all else being equal) to be real... it could also be that my old Python has a tapered bore which would increase pressure thus velocity.
Interesting, I am not sure what to think about that, hmm....
@@revolverroundup I am not married to any of those theories except the barrel/cyl gap one..... That one is pretty obvious. The tapered bore (or even a tight bore) is going to increase velocities with cast slugs at least (more pressure more velocity) might hinder with jacketed slugs if you have the combo of jacketed slug with tight bore and huge cyl gap... I have no idea except that I have seen similar velocity 'oddities' I love to hatch theories and then test em. For you? since you handload also. You had a great vid on cast vs swaged vs jacketed all with the same powder load. You could sorta combine both vids.. Do one where you use the same guns you just did but Use the PMC crap for one cyl each then the cast stuff for one cyl each. Now.... it would certainly not solve all the worlds problems or even bring peace on earth but it would be a step in the direction of solving a mystery... Aaand.... then (cause you have so much time lol) you could slug all the barrels. I once fire lapped a horrible Ruger RH barrel (most are) it leaded horribly and there were tight and loose spots... After about 24 rounds of valve lapping compound imbedded rounds it was shiny. Slugged out the same but smooooooth. rifling actually crisper. Velocity increased maybe 50FPS but with less spread. I didn't measure the old groups but the new were for sure better by a bunch.
CM, get yer mk1 eyeball recalibrated. Looked like 9 7/8 to me. 🤣
Lol
I’m a plumber by trade, I can spot when a measurement is off
@@RRCameraMan Plumber huh? It figures with the way you guys play in the slop in that field. 🤣😉
Surprised by the outcomes with those barrel lengths. Hope you guys enjoyed your memorial weekend with your families. Take care guys.🇺🇲🔪🌲🔥
Sure did thanks Jason! Hope you did as well. I thought the DW would have performed differently but I was wrong
Thanks buddy
Not to get off subject. Noticed you have many different speed loaders. Do you have any preferences? I use a combination of HKS and Safariland comp-3 loaders.
5 star is the nicest by far. Check them out in the video description lifetime warranty. Tell them revolver roundup sent you.
Ole dirty harry had it right lol.
Lol, you got that right.
I win!
What you win
I dunno I’m more of 357 guy but revolvers are great. Wheels guns on a Saturday morning should be a thing for everyone.
You win, first comment on the video!😂
