The music selection was perfect. The peaceful calm and nature of Finland is what I have been looking for my whole life. This pace is what I am missing in my life. I would be in absolute heaven. Thank you for sharing this. It will lull me into a deep sleep tonight. Greetings from Texas.
Wow Marc some really great shots in this video. So beautiful there. I have to admit I shuddered a bit when you went into that lake. It had to be cold. Thanks so much for this at such crazy times we are living in!
Glad you enjoyed it, it really is beautiful as you said. Normally the lake isn't that cold, but at the moment it really is cold, I jumped in did a very very small loop and got back out again :D
This reminded me of a Kraig Adams video if you have ever heard of him! The title of the video should be renamed to, "When are you going to go to the sauna. I have Red Cherry." Lol. My favorite part was the reading of Jack Daniels Training Formula by candlelight! That was hilarious! Spectacular video Marc!!
Yes his videos are awesome, I certainly drew some inspiration from his videos, but I've been meaning to do this for a while, I was going to do it as a running video, but that one can come along the line. RED CHERRY :)))))))) haha, yes Jack Daniels by candlelight, always thinking about running :)
Beautiful video! Poignant! Everyone should take a moment like this and spend time in their “happy place”! It can make such a difference to your mood, outlook and positivity! 👍🏻
Thanks Jochen, yes I love Kraig's videos also, so peaceful and a beautiful story. I had had the idea to do this for a while but was waiting for the right story. Thanks again for the support :)
@@runningwithmarc Yeah, I am a Fin and we love summer cottages and one in four of Finnish household has a cottage. Our summer cottage started way back in 1978 and the main cottage was completed in 1984, and it is still in good shape to this day. The yongest cottage is the sleeping cottage, completed in 2013, which is the biggest, and it is big. It has many rooms and a second floor, which is inside the roof and you go there by a diagnonal wooden stair. There is a big lake next to our place. And our summer cottage is in also an island, Virmaila's Island. It is the second largest in-land island in Finland. Also I am in a summer cottage right now with my father. It took about 2 hours and 10 minutes to get here by car. I had a timer.
Thanks for the nice words! Hard to say how much time, I just took the camera and tripod around with me the whole day, and made sure I filmed it all. Obviously your mind has to work to figure out what angle would be nice, and how you will be editing it. I think when I uploaded this footage to the editing software, it was 50minutes long worth of footage.
Nice video! I love this kind of places, gottage, sauna and lake. Two weeks and I travel to Lapland to my home town. ❤️ There might be some mosquitoes (sääskiä) but who cares :)
Thanks Timo, yes plenty of them this year I have heard. There were quite a few here at times when the wind wasn't around, but as you said, who cares :)
I liked this. You can almost smell that pure air, sauna, lake, mökki, cinnamonroll, wood.
Here is still peacefull places in this earth. Simply Good.
I think you summarised it perfectly!

Beautifully shot. You’ve got a Jim Walmsley look about you, which is very cool. A thoroughly enjoyable watch and very relaxing

You really captured the atmosphere, very creative.
