This resonated with me a lot. Since I was little, I never had a good family environment, so I stuck to academic life as a parameter to feel good. The problem is that, when I had to stop studying due to problems at home, I felt like my world collapsed. I want to learn to forgive myself for being so perfectionist and so neglectful of myself sometimes.
Pile 2 this is the most beautiful reading. I literally from the time you started reading. I am so tired of my family expecting this perfect person and in turn placing that expectation on myself. I started pile 2 and I immediately went “oh my god” because I’ve just been returning to my constant issue of holding myself to extremely high standards and always feeling like nothing I do is good enough 😅 I was literally just talking to my doctor about this and used the same example of working out where I feel like when I started working out once a week right now, I immediately felt like I should do it twice a week. Like I can never just be at peace with the things I actually am doing

Holy… I am currently 1 year sober & decided to pursue nursing and am starting my LVN program in a week. I’ve been pushing myself so hard since July to prepare for the program by studying anatomy EVERYDAY. I’ve been stuck in my head, thinking I’m going to fail or not be smart enough.. studying the nervous system and crying that I killed so many neurons from my addiction and abuse from a toxic relationship..

Im also 26yo and three years ago I left a toxic relationship and pursued my higher education. The summer before I transferred from CC to a University I met someone I had a really strong connection to. It turned out to be another toxic relationship. It’s been 2 months since I got out. I have another 15 units to go to graduate. I totally feel the being behind and putting myself down for all the mistakes I’ve made. I’m also very depended on 🍃 and I’m having a hard time letting it go.
