I was just wondering if you could help me understand this red panda pattern I got yesterday? I know my basic’s when crocheting and I do good watching and making them but I don’t have any one to help me lear to read the written patterns I think I have figured it out all the way to step 8 but no matter how I add the others up it keeps coming up with to many or to less. Here is a example 7 sc, dec)*6 (48) I understand it’s 7 single crochet and I know dec is decrease and this * means repeat it 6 times and 48 means there should be 48 when your done but but it just don’t come out no matter how I add it or subtract it to 48 not unless I do 6 rows of 7 single crochets and 1 row of 6 single crochets and then it comes out to 48. Is that right or wrong?
Hi Melissa, you almost had it! It means you make 7 single crochet stitches and then 1 decrease (for a total of 8 stitches), then you repeat that sequence 6 times. 8x6=48 Hope that helped! Happy crocheting!
