  • Welcome to Snowman's Favourites, an educational guide video series dedicated to showing you my favourite builds, crafted by yours truly, for Battle Brothers and it's plethora of Submods.
    I hope you enjoy these builds as they enhance your own gameplay, just as they have enhanced mine. (also to help tackle harder gameplay, such as legendary difficulty)
    I love theory crafting and having those crafts come to life (hopefully with some success).
    However, if any build was not made by me personally, I'll reference the person who initially gave me the idea, in the video.

    The throwing tank has an aoe taunt, bros with range weapons are priority targets (for intelligent enemies), so the enemy usually rushes them.

    If I ever go for a Thrower, I usually try to give them a Pole-arm of sort since most of the time their M.D. is not sufficient for them being a "Tank". As far as I remember some Pole-arms do benefit from the "Thrust Master" too.

    Use to use crossbow bros until I started building thrower bros. I build them with crippling strikes and executioner perks. Farm for heavy throwing axes and javelins, preferably heavy throwing axes from Barbarian Reavers and Chosens. As you said in your video, sucks against enemy archers, especially enemy crossbow men.

      Happy to hear you made the switch haha! (And cripple/exe is nice too)
      I feel that c-bows are just too slow sometimes. The one shot a turn for it to barely scratch a big target feels bad :(
      (C-bows have their place, but throwing just slaps :p , especially with those barb weps!)

    Taking thrust master on the tank might make sense, since you’d be able to take advantage of both the melee and ranged bonus from it.

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Год назад +2

      Thrust master could definitely help with both fighting needs on a throw-tank.
      However, I wouldn't say it's a necessary perk, as it only gives accuracy for javs, but it could be nice if you have a spare perk to spend :)

    Hi, Throwing Specialists are IMO the strongest and the funniest build in BB.
    But the Limited range is not a problem to me, because you must absolutely hit enemies from two tiles, or 3 to finish them. The bonus you get from the perk is insane.
    The limited ammo is not a problem either, because i always play with two, so there's 50 ammo available without famed items. And honestly, in the late game, the armoured enemies are just getting oneshotted. You can oneshot noble lords easy. And for the high HP, you can still deal 200+ even 300+ to unholds. It's mainly for the high armor and high HP enemies that i play them. For the fatigue, some perks helps a lot, and you can have some drummers.
    For the stats, i max ranged attack, ranged defense, and initiative. A lot. Because with dodge, it can gives you easy +30 Mdef and Rdef.
    For the build, they are nimble. This is too strong with good perks. They don't get often hit with their stats and placements, and if they get hit, they lose 0 HP and a little bit of armor.
    Thrust master is useless IMO, you will almost always have 95% chance to hit. Unless you don't take master archers for that build.
    The only defensive perks that you show here that must be taken is nimble, only that one. Rotation must be taken by every tank or melee bro in frontline.
    Berserk is absolutely necessary. Like this, you can kill up to 3 people per turn per throwing master. Killing frenzy and all damages perks are also very nice to have. Crippling strikes and executionner too. In lategame, crippling strikes + executionner are almost useless against humanlikes, but against high HP enemies, that is awesome.
    Taking some favoured enemies is awesome because it can be stacked up infinitely. I prefer to take noble killers, they are very easy to deal with, and they give a lot of golds.

    I love the throw Build, it is my main range built.
    I do max out the range defence more though.
    In my version of legends (I do not know the current state) the close combat archer perk gives damage equal to current RD not base RD.
    So With Balance, Dodge and a nice famed shield i get a damage boost of up to 130%.
    Also using the heavy throwing weapens from the north boost the damage.

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Год назад +2

      Nice! and yes the heavy throwing weapons from barbs are the best!
      Also, close combat archer is based on 'current' RD, so a dodge idea is pretty good.
      I don't use shields though as I think the benefit from duelist is better for javs but southern tower shields give a nice +30RD which is nice :)

    Why couldn't this have been there 2 days ago when I specced a perfectly good (98base + 13windReader) iron lungs hunter into throwing weapons without bags and belts ): Now I just hope for 8/8 rolls of throwing weapons to fill my soul.
    Guess, I'll just give him a spare xbow in 3rd slot and enjoy a close combat thrower/archer with 20ammo? Do all the shotgonne rounds scale with close combat archer?

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Год назад

      Unfortunate :( bags is super helpful but he'll still pack a punch for what he's got.
      All throwing weapons benefit from close combat archer, and duelist (with off-hand free).
      Having hybrid ranged builds are pretty strong and versitile, so adding a c-bow as a backup for ammo and range reasons is a good idea :) (I used to do builds like that in the past without close combat and they do well) ONLY concern is that close combat archer will drastically reduce your c-bow damage at far ranges.

    What are your thoughts on Battle Flow for stam recovery? Can equate to around 13-16 stam per round on high stam bros.

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Год назад +1

      Battle flow is good, but has drawbacks so I don't advocate for it as much due to reliability.
      Especially as the game goes 'late' enemies are harder to kill and it's hard to 'plan' kills with battle flow, per say.
      I usually use battle flow when there's no other option, or on very consistant bro's that have a history of racking up a bunch of kills for my party. (and have extra usable fatigue to accomodate if I can't get consistant kills quick enough)
      Recover is more reliable and should be considered above battle flow imo on high fat. bros that need it.

    Is there any round that is not anti-human, especially in BB where humans are one of the most squishy things ;P

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Год назад +1

      Yes, the humans are the squishiest (goblins even more-so) but I guess there are still tactics & weapons that work better on other enemies in comparison (e.g. cleavers on monsters are way better than on humans).
      Regardless, humans are easy to pick on :)

    what the difference between light medium, heavy armor?
    is it determined by the fatigue cost or the armor value?

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Год назад +1

      Light med and heavy are determined by fatigue costs (and subsequently, the fatigue costs determine the armours durability)
      The perks associated with each armour type want you to:
      -Light: stay 15 and under (or really close to 15)
      -medium: be between 25-35 (or really close)
      -heavy: as heavy as you can go durability-wise which results in very high fatigue costs.
      These are all to try and get the maximum benefit from each armour group's perks.
      Hope this helps :)

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Год назад +1

      @@fandy.n.0158 depends on the stat. ~85 melee attack, ~90 ranged attack, ~50 resolve, are some of my recommended thresholds in general. (some cases are different ofc)
      Obviously more is better but knowing a good benchmark allows you to not get bogged down by sub-par bros and have some viability as you get towards late game :)

    New to legends, is Ranged Defense useful now?

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Год назад +3

      Ranged defence is good for throwing weapon builds (and sometimes other builds), mainly, because of a perk called "close combat archer".
      It allows you to get a % increase in damage (1-1 ratio of your ranged defence) if you hit someone at distance of 2-tiles with a ranged attack.
      This gets pretty insane on a fully built bro, and makes throwers capable of one-shotting noble footmen in full armour (I do this constantly and love it!!)
      Also there's a couple other perks/uses for ranged defence, but this is the main one :)
      Hope that helps!
