I know this channel is retired but for posterity sake I wanted to say that your content for this game, this Lone Wolf series in particular, helped turn my opinion on BB from a game that I thought was just okay, into unquestionably one of my top 10 favorite games of all time. Tldr is he has a medical condition that prevented him making videos.
Just a tip for anyone who watches this in 2021 - the Blazing Deserts DLC added in an Arena where you can fight small battles against 2-4 enemies for a ton of crowns (pays about 400-1000 per match) which can be a great strategy for Lone Wolf.

The arena is a bit tough for one person though. I actually did the arena in a lone wolf campaign, but got two guys who could actually fight to help out. Getting fodder is counter productive since it ruins the lone wolf perk when you get it, so you need to invest in people who can actually fight, so it isn't much of a power leveling thing any longer. It did make decent money though.
First battle you let one die by bleeding so i guess that's why you got 800exp (not sure tho)

@xwynns I remember you saying it can take up to 6 hours to create a story and edit it in for the likes of Rimworld. Honestly mate your commentary and play style in any game is why people watch the vids. To save you time just set a goal and just play and don’t overthink it and keep it simple. I don’t know just want you back on here as I’ve really missed ya.

Don't know if you noticed but you actually got super lucky on that double Knock Out. The brigand hit you but failed the 75% chance to stun.
I think a dog might be an idea so u can catch the remaining archer with it. Cant wait for the next episode!
Okay, I doubt anyone would ever read this, but might it not be easier to higher a couple meat pawns in the first couple fights? Even if you can't afford them and they leave, your guy is still free.
They can at least distract a few, and make sure you don't get surrounded. Need to split them off though, so they don't give your LW with morale checks when they die.
First attempt killed by a rouge arrow second attempt died by goblin ambush 😩 your tips are helping though ☺️
you should do more of these. this series was quite funny 😂 maybe some different scenarios, like the cultists or anatomists or i dunno, they’re all pretty cool.

Hey nice video! In my Lone Wolf playthrough I ended up getting ported deep into the North and they put me next to a ship stuck on top of a tree with a Golden Goose inside that generates 15 gold daily I don't know what the heck this was all about but im not complaining.

Those percentages of Lone wolf sounds OP. Hope the devs don’t nerf. Tough game from what I remember.
I went with a riposte/shieldwall setup on my first guy. I wasn't disappointed. Beat back 10 barb thralls without taking a single point of dmg. The barb quests pay well but barbs have crap loot.. so far.
Donated! You just have to stay alive long enough to recruit cowards, er, mans with a healthy respect for personal safety, and Velen is in!
In my game i used a similar strat but more relying on using swing and split every round. After day 34 i actually had in combat 115 fatigue 109 meele (with Lone wolfe) and 30 Meele defense.
I could most of the time actually attack 2 times (round Swing) because i skilled the extra Action Points after killing one enemy. Only boosted the Moral very little to get a average 4 kill per turn charakter (on almost every not late game enemies, Orc Warriors)
I've also been experiencing that the hardest enemies with my build are ghosts. Fast panicing HedgeKnight.
Dodge and points into initiative then work on resolve, get a mastery pick relentless, brawny helps too

I know I’m a little late, but in my Lone Wolf runs, I’ve found that having a Hound or Dog equipped can be an absolute godsend; especially when you’re surrounded.
The enemies turn all of their attacks towards you, so your Dog’s weak health doesn’t come into play, and the Dog attacks first, so enemies that are almost dead can very quickly become so
That is to say, enemies turn their attacks on you on preference. If you’re surrounded and an enemy can’t get into attack range, they’ll go for your dog.
But early game you’re less likely to be that overwhelmed by bandits and monsters

Maybe You did not get 1000xp cos you ''only'' killed 6 and the 7th bleed out.
I think 2 bled out. One of them I believe took a bleeding injury and immediately bled to death from it.

Loving the Lone Wolf. Got him to about Level 6 in a week gametime, but got eaten by a lone Nachzehrer (2nd Form) in a 1v1. Stupid death.
13:25 you didnt kill the guy with bleeding effect. It counts as he didn´t died by your company hand so you´ll get no xp for him. Its like when you are doing battle against bandits and hand caravan from other kingdom kill steal your kill, you get no loot or xp from him.

Awesome video. You didn’t get the 1000 exp in the first battle because units who bleed out don’t count as kills for exp.
I feel like thats a little overemphasis on resolve. You absolutely will be confident and stay confident with 50-60 resolve. If you were so desperate to get confident on the first kill then you could just buy your lone wolf some beer at the tavern for pennies and start the battle confident, no first kill required

I am playing a lone wolf campaing and what I understood after about 25 restarts is that you should not play as lone wolf on iron man. Too much depends on luck and factors that are out of your control in a game designed to be played with a squad.
I tried to play as he did, and even with an awesome lone wolf (he's paranoid and bright) I couldn't make him survive more than a few days. Bad luck on hits just ruins it (missed 3 85% on my last playthrough).
@@xwynns Seems like going caravan missiosn only can drastically increase early game survival.

Open the game files with a free graphic program like GIMP, and you can change/replace everything in the game.
You only got six kills. Thats because bleeding out enemies dont grant you the kill and therefore xp which doesnt make a lot of sense since you inflicted the bleeding wound.
I usually go sword/shield and riposte the brigands/low-tier enemies to death.
Why did you abandon us Xavier! Your rimworld content was lit!

Be careful with two hedge knights as an event will kill one off :( I just slowly built up a company with good gear and let the lone wolf lead from the front, going ok so far but it’s early days.

In my lone wolf I didnt level up my character until after the 1st three battles. I think it made the enemy less tough in those 1st battles. It worked for me anyway
I usually just watch these games. Because I fucking hate RNG combat to death ... Well, probably it would help me when I undestand the rolling dice part a bit. But this probably wouldnt change much since its still RNG. But I am gonna enjoy this series :)

1 brigand in the first battle died of bleeding damage.. maybe that is the difference (not a direct kill, just like with a dog)
On Battle 1 you got credit for 6 Kills, not 7. The Bleed Out went to... well... no one. I suppose the Many-Faced God took the credit on it.
That's why you didn't get 1,000 XP.
I don't understand what the point of playing ironman is if your approach to success is "you just gotta restart until you get a good beginning". Wouldn't you be relatively confident about not dying if you started by recruiting other bros?

i must have got REALLY lucky looking at your stats i have 10 more in melee and defense and range defense at the cost of a little health and resolve and i just got sergeant with a throwaway helper and gave the sash to my main character

It looks like when you're selling stuff you do it really smoothly and quickly like you're holding down a button rather than clicking repeatedly. Am I missing something? I can't do this! Is this a mod or what? Thanks!

Do you have a mod for insane easy or wtf? 1. of all if I get lucky to find any human thugs its a miracle 2. I die in every fight instantly when someone with a dagger attacks, they just take 80% of the hp on 1 swing and kill on the 2........btw I restarted over 30 times now

I think you got less exp that fight because you don't get exp for bleeding deaths
tried lone wolf 2 times and died on the first battle on veteran.. clearly, I'm doing something wrong

Do I need any DLC for lone wolf origin?
i feel by focusing on resolve really make ur lone wolf hedge knight not so great. he has pretty much the best starting stats for a 2 hander and will be a late game monster if u spec him correctly. Better focusing on learning the game knowleadge, knowing what contract to take, and how to deal with certain situations will come a long way and set you to be successful in the late game.
I still believe only having access to 12 brothers is really a pain. especially in late game it really hurts the overall power of ur company.

rng dilutes the ability to discern betweent he really good gamers from the so so gamers...bad players are easy to spot...but its hard to spot really good players now because rng doesn't permit it...back in the day where games were made with almost no rng at all...skill was all based and merit shined...its not like that anymore in gaming...if anything rng in this game helps the so so players..without rng this game would be intense..the enemies would destroy you
What turned based strategy/tactic games have you played which didn't have rng? Isn't that part of the genre?

Could it be that you received 800 xp instead of 1000 because you killed 6 and not 7 guys in the first fight because one bled out? (Your guy's number of kills was 6, not 7 at the end of the first battle)
ya know, this is a bad tutorial in my opinion. Moral is not in need cause you can get more attack skills and get the moral from kills, gifted is questinable you can just earn some from leveling up after 11 level. the sword is pretty bad, axe gonna be better, he is going to be more powerful and more expensive on stamina, but you have a max passion on stamina from the start on character so this is no prob. It also need more accuracy, but there is a passion on it from the start too so this is no prob too.

Nothing about this strategy actually works. Total and utter nonsense. You get extremely lucky at the right moments and then extremely unlucky where it doesn't end up costing you the campaign (in later episodes).
@@xwynns I'm saying even if played perfectly I don't think this strategy will work 85-95% of the time.
