Thanks for the Review Pat. Glad you like it! Fair points made, and I'm going to look into the lid locking clip design to see if it can be improved.

A good string of uploads! Thanks Pat, really awesome when you post your X-Wing reviews! I always consult your videos and Crabbok's Videos before making any X-Wing related purchases (well in what order I will buy them ahaha)

Great review! Its definitely a luxury item but seeing all of the design and planning that went into this, the cost is justified. Thanks for doing these vids!

+Michael Marines You can definitely see all of the design and engineering effort and expertise that went into creating this thing. It's an extremely complex and well-designed product.

Definitely very customized to XWing however our X-Case has existed for quite a bit longer and just so happens to also be a modular solution that could hold XWing and just about any other gaming miniature, as well as display them. But they are in Australia so probably not a direct compete since we do not have many customers there. We are working on an XWing and more generic accessory storage insert for later this year as well as a larger XL Unit to hold big base ships. If you would like to review our case let us know.

    Holy goodness it's beautiful!
Sometimes I wish my cheap (but nice looking) storage solution didn't work so well. Then I could better justify spending a bunch of money on nicer solutions lol.
But even still...$250 to get the kit you're showing in this video shipped is WAY too much IMO. Stunning looking though it is...even if I were in the market for new solution, this thing wouldn't be on my list of options I'd look at before purchasing. I can get SO much for $250 for this game!
lol I don't know...the high price here just upsets me. I get it's nice and all...but dang!

You know, I think that after having used it, if I had the extra money I'd probably buy one. But it is difficult to justify the cost when I already own a $30 plastic case that does a reasonably close job of what the X-Case does (minus the ship holders and template tray).

Yeah, I mean...it's beautiful. It's one of those purchases that you make...maybe regret a bit...but then get in the mail, and are forever thrilled to own ever after lol. All regrets quickly vanish.
I LOVE buying nice quality accessories for this game more than any other game I've ever been into (even magic the gathering). So I could see myself taking a deep breath and taking the plunge on something like this that's out of my price range, but totally high quality, long lasting (sucks about the fragile locking tab things), and so stunning looking.
I gotta be honest though lol...when I saw the price (with shipping)...it knocked the breath out of me >.

Yeah, I would have liked to see the locking tabs made of a sturdier material, but as long as you're careful, breaking them isn't something you really need to worry about.

+Matthew Hascek That sounds amazing! I'd love to see pics of it.

I really like this, but definitely had some sticker shock. Wow that's expensive. But it would make a great 100 pt squad transport box.
Then I'm looking at a $40 shipping. Good hell. I REALLY like this box, though lol

Seems like a really great product but for the price tag and the fact that it wouldn't fit some of my favorite ships w/o buying special modules I think I'll have to pass. But seems like a handy thing for those going to tournaments more regularly than me.

Looks neat and all, but its far too expensive for what it is, and the fact you have to buy holders for every large ship, switching them out as needed, and Only being able to hold 1-ish squad at a time makes this pretty over priced. Rather just use Plano trays. Far more versatile.

Looks good but I wouldn't be able to fit all my ships in there.

+World of Warpaint it's not meant to hold your whole collection, just to transport and organize what you need for a single standard X-Wing event.

This is so cool! What a great idea. They really did think of everything. My stuff is just in a tackle box... It’s kind of got a cardboard look to it. Perfect for you 👍🏻

Tackle boxes are great as storage for miniatures games. I have several myself.

Very nice product but they can get bent on that pricing. Ridiculous.

I don't trust the hinge, with repeated use it could crack and break.

    • @thecardboarddungeon8770
      @thecardboarddungeon8770  7 лет назад

+Go_Rilla26 I can't really speak to that since I haven't had one for very long, but it is well made and implemented. I think as long as it's handled carefully it should hold up fine. It's certainly an interesting hinge design; I'd never seen anything quite like it until I saw it on this case.

The Cardboard Dungeon haha, you've got me beat by three years, and a kid. Good stuff. Thanks for all of the great reviews, and content on your channel. This product is way overpriced, in my opinion.
