Now you need to react to their pre-debut song, "Dream". It's so good. It's about their journey, the hardships they faced daily and the perseverance to overcome the tough times and achieve their dream.

Thanks for the reaction! Many people know that YG is good in marketing. I think he was planning to debut all of them from the beginning, his plan was to introduce all of them and make us think that someone won’t debut. But even if I knew that they all were gonna debut, I was quite nervous while watching the live of the video! In the past too there was the same story with the boy group Treasure. I don’t know about the debut date, but I hope we will get some hints, news etc. in upcoming months! If I made some mistakes, sorry, english is not my first language ❤

First of All, thanks for reacting our BM and Congrats to all the Girls !!
Yes !! BABYMONS7ER as I expected. Even I know it's gonna be 7 members for the final line-up, I still have tears rolling when he brought out the Big board. With all the hints and easter eggs from the teasers, I already know OT7 no doubt about it. BM project is definitely a successful "global project strategy" sample. YG knows how to promote, earn massive supporters and fan-base in such a short period of time, he knows how to play our emotions up and down. The whole company knows how to calculate. ( If you like K-drama, you know what I mean ).
All the videos has been recorded last year, so there is no way how he knows fans wanted.
    BUT !
He can predict the outcome when he KNOWS he has such a group of world class talent members in hand.
Even I believe in OT7 months ago, if worse comes to worst, here are the 5 members line-up in my head, Ahyeon, Chiquita, Ruka, Pharita and Rora, cause Haram and ASA, they r both strong enough to run solo themselves.
But now......7 members have been confirmed, I am so exciting to see their debut event, their first MV, first performance on stage, first award in any music events in the future....etc.....
BABYMONS7ER, they will shock the world and make a BIG impact to Kpop industry.
    I love you all 7 members ! Congratulations !!!!!
BTW, YG , he is such a good actor ! U cant even see a single bit of facial expressions on his face. Well done !

Lex, your reactions are the best. It really is genius to get fans to act on their natures to protect such young girls and end up being supportive and even desirous for their success. This is the first group I followed from introduction to debut and this whole marketing campaign has made me a fan.

This is just my theory on how the format and timeline for this 'Last Evaluation' series had played out.
In general, I would summarise what YG had done with this series as being both deceptive/sly and genius at the same time.
First of all, I think YG was very much leaning towards debuting all 7 members even before announcing "The Next Movement" on the 1st Jan 2023. This is strongly evidenced by all the promotional videos showing all 7 members and by the live performance & introduction videos that were released very shortly aftewards for each of the 7 members. In a nutshell, YG very much highly values all 7 of these members and throughout all the videos, they never left any doubt that the final 7 trainees/members were valued.
This means then that the 'Last Evaluation' would essentially just be a series that shows the training and evaluation process that the final 7 had undergone for them to then be confirmed as the 7 members of BABYMONSTER.
The actual evaluations obviously took place several months earlier in 2022 so MOST of the footage shown in the series was taken back then.
There is one line mentioned by YHS in episode 8 of this 'Last Evaluation' series that leads me to believe that although YG was very much leaning towards debuting all 7 members, he still wanted to know the audience's reception to each of the 7 members before solidifying their decision. The line from YHS is follows: "After seeing this content, the viewers will see your dancing and singing and I'm sure they'll express their love and interest".
YHS had actually said much more to the girls at the end part of episode 8, including "you guys felt like a team the most today" and "We haven't decided on the number of members yet".
Basically, I think this whole last part of the series where YHS was talking to the girls following their very final evaluation performance was YHS being very sincere (possibly the most sincere I've ever seen from him publicly).
My guess is that he was also telling the truth when he said that he initally envisioned there being less members in BABYMONSTER (and was thinking 5 members). However, after all the last evaluation peformances he was genuinely in a tough position as he didn't seem to find any obvious weak members that he could drop from the group.
Therefore, keeping all 7 was a very realistic possibility and all that was left for him was to see if viewers would also see things the same way.
So fast forward to about 2 months ago when YG released the 'Last Evaluation' TEASER. It was here that the public first got to hear that YHS had earlier said to the girls that "BABYMONSTER will never be a 7 member group".
This was in the trailer to raise some tension for their 'Last Evaluation' series so people tune in and YG knew they'd get quite a reaction from it, BUT I think that there is no way that they could have predicted that the audience would so overwhelmingly essentially demand or "plead" for all 7 members to debut.
In the Debut Member Announcement video YHS said that "nearly 98%, 99% of the fans were demanding (for) all 7 members" and I believe that this was NOT hyperbole. As large of a percentage as this is, it is not actually not a strech to say that this was accurate.
Based on this, my suspicion is that this Debut Member Announcement video was recorded by YHS sometime after the 'Last Evaluation' TEASER was released.
Again, an audience reaction like this was so overwhelming that I think that this was precisely all that YHS had needed to see before he SOLIDIFIED his decision to debut all 7 members.
Now, what happens from this point on is the fun part. This is where YHG and YG as company shows both just how sly they are but also shows off their genius.
Sometime between episodes 1 and 3 (but likely closer to episode 1) is where all 7 members would have been told that they were going to debut. Probably not coincidentally, it was also around this time that there were rumors of the members being congratulated by their YG seniors.
With the 7 members confirmed, it was probably then at around this point that YG had started to finalise production and then commence with the recording of the BABYMONSTER pre-debut song 'Dream' which we now know involves all 7 members. This would take maybe 1 month to get it to the high quality standard that is expected of YG, and once completed, this pre-debut song was then added together with a montage at the end of episode 8.
This was also accompanied with a recorded statement by YHS at the very end of the episode where he re-iterated his initial plan to have only debut 5 members and that his formal Debut Member Announcement would be in 2 weeks time.
This whole play is what I personally refer to as being sly because to have the pre-debut song completed in time for episode 8, he obviously at least a few weeks earlier, had already decided on having all 7 members debut.
This then invalidates what he would go on to mention later within the Debut Announcement video that he needed 2 weeks to process his confusion and think about what the fans ("YG family") want.
I personally can excuse how sly this was because what they managed to achieve by presenting the Debut Member Announcement in this way was actually nothing short of genius.
The genius of it is that I think YG pivoted after seeing the very overwhelming reaction from the audience that we wanted all 7 members and then they (YG) played their next moves perfectly based on our reaction.
The strong reaction from the audience not only solidified their decision to debut all 7 members but they immediately saw the opportunity that this presented.
This primary opportunity is to give the impression that we, as the audience (the fans), can be shown to influence the number of members in the group.
Now this technically is not a lie.
At least not entirely as it was the audience reaction that solidified their decision to debut all 7, BUT they presented how they came to this decision much differently in the Debut Member Announcment. YHS was able to give his whole narration on his 5 chosen members but I think that this was only a HYPOTHETICAL choice assuming he actually had to limit himself to 5 members.
He then presented an exaggerated importance on the audience/fans/"YG family" influence for their already decided on choice to debut all 7 members.
The genius of this is that what they (YG) have achieved by pivoting based on the public's reaction is an ultimate win-win scenario.
    * YG wins because they know they have 7 talented and very likeable members in their girl group.
    * The fans win because they are relieved and get what they wanted with all 7 members (not 5) in the group.
    * YG wins yet again, because they look good for considering and then yielding to what the fans wanted.
    * The fans win yet again, because they feel good about getting what they want because of a supposed great influence they had on YG.
    * And then YG wins yet again, because they know that because of this whole dynamic where the fans are seen to have influenced the members in the group, the fans now have an even stronger attachment and a feeling of investment in the group.
With the start of an invested fanbase, this is basically all now the perfect launching pad for the now highly anticipated upcoming debut of BABYMONSTER.
This is just my theory on what had happened over the past few months.
It seems transparent to me and a bit sly, but I personally can excuse it because I appreciate the genius of what YG had done. That a company can pivot so effectively and can come to this outcome in my opinion is very impressive.
At the end of the day, we now have come to recognise the very talented and very likeable members of BABYMONSTER and can appreciate how incredibly hard they had worked to earn their debut.
Because of this, fans should be very excited for their upcoming debut.
I've seen some people mention that Rora and Asa might be upset that they were not initially chosen by YG to be in the group. I personally don't believe this.
I think they were confirmed to be in the group at the same time that the other members were and their parts in the pre-debut song is evidence of this.
I suspect that all the members know that what YHS said about the 5 chosen members was just a hypothetical decision that he had to come up with as part of their Debut Member Announcement plan and the bottom line is that he never truly had to make that decision.
Good luck to BABYMONSTER. I think they'll be great and I wish them the best.

I originally also came to the same conclusion that you had but for one thing. Remember in the earlier teasers there was like 10 trainees and some of their faces blurred. Then they did solo introductions for ot7. If it was originally planned as 5 and the last 2 weeks changed YGs mind how did they know to start showing the group as 7. The time line doesn't add up.
I think what hes saying is partly true. He probably did initially want it to be 5 but quickly realised 7 was the best group. This whole act of 2 weeks to take in fans demands was all a charade. Just marketing to build hype and it worked. Like i said they chose early on to start the introductions of trainees with the 7.

Ive been followin8g YG for years!!! Trust me they didn't plan 7. He always thought 5. There are two things here.
1 YG wanted 5 member group but couldn't pick out of 7 girls he selected for debute. As time went on he made plans for two members but quickly noticed everyone wanted 7! Imagine if the public picked 5 members and two were left out by the majority.... then YG idea was on strack. He wanted to see who we (YGFAM) wanted. It became ALL7!!
    2. The girls were indirectly challenged by the idea of the possibility not making the in too 5. The girls wiried hader, YG got to see their potential and we the public got a voice to change YG's mind.

It's very likely that the entire thing was filmed last year, as you said we know about the short lived Jennie hair colour. I guess the last clue would be the ages on the photo cards being for the most part a year out.
But I don't think that they settled on the seven until they started doing the group activities they then blurred the other candidates out in the early episodes my guess it quite a lot of footage was cut.
I believe that they would've originally wanted this to air last year but decided to delay to get as much hype as possible with as little pressure from other company groups.
It's also possible the group hug was filmed after the girls were officially informed by YG it would seem a bit out of character otherwise.

As I was saying from the start Babymonster is always going to be a 7 member group.... This was all genius business stunt by YHS. First he made us emotionally connected with the girls from "introducing videos" and then by conducting the last evaluation he made it seem like he was never going to debut 7 members but all he was doing was making us fans more emotionally connected with BabyMonsters. To finish the master plan, he made it seem like "we" fans formed the Final Babymons7er group, making us feel even more involved in group activity. By doing this all, YHS already ensured that Babymonster will have a huge "loyal" fanbase even before their debut.... What a mastermind he is, I guess that's why they say "who's the clan with the master plan, YG Baby".

I thought you knew or noticed but the clips of their monthly evaluations were all from 2018-2021, but you didn't noticed that, did you? IF those monthly evaluations were filmed around 2018-2021, then doesn't that mean this 'LAST EVALUATION' videos were filmed in 2022 then? They just air these videos this year, but it was filmed 'LAST EVALUATION' last year (2022).
Also, you probably didn't noticed their seniors' hairstyles, especially Lisa and Jennie, were of in 2022. Also, if you check their birth of dates, you would already know these videos were filmed last year lol Ruka is already 21 years old (03/20/2002) , Chiquita is already 14 years old (02/17/2009) , Asa is already 17 (04/17/2006), Pharita (08/26/2005) and Rora (08/14/2008) are turning 18 and 15 this month, Ahyeon is already 16 (04/11/2007),
And as for these debut announcement videos from YG and BABYMONSTER Reaction Video, these were also pre-recorded videos as well, because it looks like it was filmed months before.
Also, as for BABYMONSTER Project, it was made and planned since 2018 already, but there were many shifts and changes here and there, there were some former trainees that were put in this project before left too due to unfitting concept styles of the choice that they wanted, which Baby Monster was originally supposed to be like YG's 1st generation's girl group, Big Mama, a trio that is a vocal-based group. So, because of that, some or most decided to leave. Chiquita came in YG in early 2021. That's how this girl group project was made. It was already made since last year, but they did this for marketing attraction.

I knew it from the start that he's gonna debut the 7 of them. He chose the 7 them and excluding the 2 other members was just part of all of his drama to get the public's attention and he successfully did. Most of us fell for it. It has nothing to do with their talent. Many were surprised, some are more likely angry about him putting Asa at the last of the list. For me,from what I saw here, the way he described each member (again, based on HIS description, not mine) he introduced the members of babymonster by starting off with an all rounder and ended it with an Ace. A strong start and end.
Nonetheless, i love all the members. Huge respect for their talent and hardwork and they all really deserve a spot in the group.

I believe this is YG genius plan all along. It has always been 7.
My reason is this, Chiquita placard shows her being 13 yr old. she turned 14 in Feb. 2023.
So this clip was filmed pre-Feb2023.
and he mentioned 4 months of thinking, so this puts a time lime near Nov2022. well before the introduction clips.
So I believe this drama, created by the editing was a genius YG maneuver and it worked.
So many BabyMons7er fans were at the edge of there seats, and so many new fans were drawn into the fandom well before the debute date is even announced.

It's YG lex... I guess this is your first YG pre debut group to stan 😅 because YG is always criticised for their "lack" of music so he never gives a perticular date to either debut or comeback unless it's 80-90% done but from what we've been hearing lately, BabyMonster's debut will be in either August or September (I guess it'll be in August as YG loves to debut his groups in August).... Also Babymonster was always going to be 7 member group, we know this from the social media posts of BabyMoster family members and some YG insiders (including a producer who's working with BabyMonster for their debut)

Actually I think he had already planned that the group would be with 7 members because otherwise they would not have presented them to meet them, since he could also do it with the other girls who are seen in some videos that appear with blurred faces, but to attract fans and thus be able to create the fandom in addition to saving the reaction of the people because I create this whole show, these are things that he must do because first of all this he runs a company, a negozio that must bring him profits and if people are not interested in the number of new groups that are leaving and that will leave then he would not be interested.

  • @JamesKaneshiroDesignSamurai

There is a coupld of things in this video that made me think that it was recorded last year. YG is actually wearing the same shirt and cap in EP3, the ages of the members are from last year, they didn't have a member reveal like they did for BLACKPINK so we got no reaction from the girls. Also, at the end of EP8 we got to hear their pre-debut song "Dream" which means that they were in the recording studio at some point between the recording the last evaluation to most likely before December. If what he is saying is true that they should have a debut before the fall then they should have a few songs recorded and getting ready to create a M/V for their debut.
It was genius marketing on YG's part. I would like to think that this was done on purpose to protect the girls. YG played the bad guy because he knew that there would be some backlash from the girls being so young. Once the series started there was a lot of OT7 and they should all be debuting. Some people when they were first announced was saying that they should wait a couple of years before they debut the group but people don't realize that most of them have already been training for over 4 years.
The original plan may have been 5 since that would have been half of the trainees to debut but seeing how hard these girls have worked I think that they have a group that they could debut with more members. It could have possibly been even in those last two months that we watch where the decision was made. At that point, three of the trainees were already eliminated so to me it felt more like a journey to debut than an elimination show.
But in the end we got all 7 member to debut so I feel like whatever YG did doesn't really matter.

The decision was made last year and before they introduced all 7 member to the public. They purposefully created an enviromnent where fans would grow attached to all 7 and then rally behind them against YG demanding the OT7 debut, so YG could "listen to us fans", making us feel as a part of the Babymonster project. More drama, more attention and a more dedicated fanbase. If elimination really was possible, the marketing would have been setup differently. It's absolutely possible, that the initial plan really was a 5-member group and YG changed his mind after filming the last evaluation last year. But us fans didn't have anything to do with that. It's great marketing and it was a fun / entertaining ride regardless. Of course I'm happy that all 7 will debut as Babymonster. I think, you can now expect some "road to debut" reality tv series to bridge the gap until debut. Fun side note: The ages he uses while speaking (Ahyeon 15...) and also the ages on the name cards (Chiquita 13, Ruka 20...) are old. That was true end of last year but not now in April/May. So if they really filmed this announcement now as reaction to fan support, why not use their current ages? Just another sign, pointing to a marketing strategy. :)

    • @TEAM__POSEID0N
      @TEAM__POSEID0N Год назад

Probably correct. I would just say that doing it this way also gave YG the option of getting rid of some members if it turned out that the public didn't like them much. It was a way for YG to confirm whether all 7 members were as popular as he hoped they would be, without committing 100% to debuting all 7 members. There's always a possibility that a particular member or members won't appeal to the public or, as has been the case at other companies, there's a possibility that when the potential members' names are announced, there will be some scandal, like from former classmates accusing a member of having been a bully or something. Other companies have had to sometimes drop announced members for reasons like that. It's actually kind of smart on many levels the way that YG handled it. Like you said, I think the plan was to have a 7-member group, but the last several months was used to test the public response to the members and keep open the possibility of eliminating any members if there turned out to be problems.

@@TEAM__POSEID0N Sure, part of the calculation might have been, that they wanted to see if they missed something and unexpected accusations or a scandal arises after revealing the 7 members to the public in January, giving it a few months until April (before they reveal in May that all 7 will debut). Very unlikely but not totally impossible (like recent history teaches). Testing "fan support" for the members wasn't part of the calculation. The whole marketing campaign was designed to make sure, that we fans get emotionally attached to all 7 members and to provoke the "OT7 debut demands" against YG, so that YG can "listen to us fans" and debut all 7 to "make us fans part of the project". That was the intention from the start (with the announcement teaser). The members "reaction" was filmed maybe end last year / beginning this year (around the same time, they filmed some of the interview clips from the introduction videos, see Harams blonde hair color for example). They just released it now. But changing the line up (and all the preparations) so late just because one member turns out to be less popular than the others would've been legally not possible anymore (after starting the marketing campaign and revealing them in that way). For that you need more at this point, like serious accusations or a scandal that has legal grounds.

I thought since your reaction was coming out after both the debut member announcement and the pre-debut song was released, you would be able to do 2 in 1 for the video reaction! Was this filmed in advance? XD

Lex, only YG knows if what you speculate is true. But at the end of the day, does it really matter? I believe he may have just wanted 5 but after their last 2 evaluations he knew he should take all 7. How could he not? The 5 he picked are definitely strong but all 7 is stronger.

I hope YG doesn't rush their debut because of the pressure from fans. Just patiently wait and support them no matter what. Its easier to ruin than to be successful. There are plenty example of groups that failing out there.

I know he did this for marketing. But honestly i started to think that he really planned 5 member.... In the training videos... We saw 1 dance session contain 10 girls... But after that we always see only 5 members formation on dancing evaluation. We saw 7 member dancing only in last evaluation right.
But only god and YG who know the truth
    Wathever.... We support Babymons7er 😁

I have to wonder about this too. He may have initially thought about just five, but think - he had a logo, "BABYMONS7ER," prepared, and logos that are going to represent the group for years and years just aren't picked up at the 7-11. They have to be designed and approved; so if he was initially going with five, he also gave himself a Plan B if he decided to include all seven.

Yep and keep in mind they filmed all this content and the Last Evaluations LAST YEAR.. to be specific April-August 2022 judging by the YG seniors hairstyles that matches their projects/comebacks of 2022. The two members of WINNER had hairstyles from before and after their July 2022 comeback with I LOVE U. In Haram’s character playlist the girls was singing/dancing to WINNER’s I LOVE U. In the solo missions, final vocal group performance, and final dance mission one of the WINNER members had blonde hair, now has black hair and the other member cut his hair it wasn’t long like it was in the earlier episodes. It’s to same with BLACKPINK members, Jennie had ginger hair around April 2022 and Lisa was doing her solo stuff with the same short blonde hair. Even AKMU’s hairstyle coincides with their projects and activity from last year. So, yeah the BABY MONSTER debut project has been planned out for a long time..and there was actually probably 3-4 more trainees that did not make the cut to be in BABY MONSTER. Remember there were blurred trainees in some of the introduction videos. Also, I do agree.. maybe Yang Hyunsuk originally planned for only 5 members. He already had his chosen 5, but I really feel throughout the final evaluations he realized they look great as 7 members. Maybe he did film 2 outcomes considering he probably knew that the fans would protest his 5 member line up. If you look at the girls’ ages on the their photos, you see that this debut member announcement video was filmed last year or Jan 2023. Because Ruka is 21 years old since March, Chiquita turned 14 in February, Ahyeon turned 16 last month, and Asa turned 17 last month too. If YHS filmed this 2 weeks ago, why didn’t they use the CORRECT AGES??
But yeah, they literally promoted BABY MONSTER as 7 members since Day 1 anyways. If you look at their profile pic in their official social media accounts it’s all 7 girls. If it was truly just 5 members or it’s something that is real time, they would just have their name BABY MONSTER..keep it mysterious. Also, the girls especially Ruka, Pharita, Ahyeon, and Chiquita are so active on TikTok and IG.. the other 3 girls were in a few videos as well. Which was weird.. why would they post if they were in the final line up? If there was one or two members being eliminated, why are they included in the photos and videos? You know? Totally defeats the purpose of YHS saying “BM will never be 7” or “he wants only 5 members”. It’s like come on.. you say this.. but the girls on social media and being spotted going in and out YGE building says something else. It’s saying OT7😂

If there is two rapper. Two can’t be two main rapper. If it was really a 5 member group or smaller. If he picks ruka then no way he would pick asa. If he picks asa , no way he would pick ruka. Even it everyone can rap, there is only 1 main vocalist and one main rapper out of a group. All the rest is sub or leading

    • @TEAM__POSEID0N
      @TEAM__POSEID0N Год назад

There actually are no rules like that. No group is required to assign higher and lower position rankings to members. That's just stuff that fans make up and repeat to each other. A lot of the times, the company won't even officially announce main/lead/sub rankings. When Blackpink debuted, they had an official debut showcase. The company announced the roles that the members would mostly have, but didn't mention any rankings. (Vocals: Jisoo, Jennie, Rose; Rap: Lisa, Jennie; Dance: Lisa). There were no official rankings (main/lead/sub) of each position. YG has actually never mentioned any official main/lead/sub rankings for Blackpink. It will be interesting to see if the same thing happens with Baemon. I'm sure, however, that even if there are no rankings in positions, some fans will act like there are and spread fake news about it everywhere, just like they did with Blackpink.

The blurring doesn’t effect you lol. Who was your bias by the way? You would be piss if he decides to really eliminate. Pretty sure it was always meant to be 7 when it was recorded last year. When there was more than a dozen trainees then YG probably wanted 5 but out of the dozen trainees he narrow down 7. Once he introduced all 7 to the world it was like 99% it was 7. If he truly eliminated them, the stock would fall badly and social media riots will be bad for YG image. All marketing hype by YG

    • @TEAM__POSEID0N
      @TEAM__POSEID0N Год назад

Well, it's possible that YG was willing to go either way. I think he probably wanted all 7. But the real evaluation was to see how the public responded to the group members when the promotional/introductory videos were uploaded by YG. If it turned out that some of the members were very popular, but others were not very popular with the public, it's easy to imagine YG deciding to get rid of the least popular members. Because the public overwhelmingly liked all of the members and were unhappy about the possibility of anyone being eliminated, that gave YG the confidence to go ahead with all 7 members.

I always assumed he had been a little partial to Asa with her being an Ace so I had assumed she had gotten the last original spot. I didnt expect Pharita to get it, but I would have been sad no matter who had gotten the 5 spots bc they are all talented and deserve to debut…. OT7❤️

It's stressful right? 🤣 But one thing you need to know is never trust YG specially in this new gen of videos all we see is stage and all of this is pre determine last year. There are so many clue in all the videos that connect to each other that all of this is stage and this announcement is just a good acting and they already predicted what fans reaction if they released all of the current content. 🤣 I'll give 2 reason why this is all stage:
1: the age of the members are not updated to there current age right now.
2: the pre debut song that is already been recorded few months ago before the members is announced. They already have a song in episode 8 after the announcement meaning they already have set.
And one more thing you can see his clothes are the same in episode 1 or some of the early interview meaning all of this is recommended last year. 🤣

No way they are posting 10 girls and blur 3 of them if all 7 that unblur debut... HAHAHHAH this video was recorded wayyyyy long before, and YG know we will demanding all 7 to debut, thats why he ask at very first video of them, "please judge them the way you guys see their talents etc" YESSSSSSSSSSSSS !! and we believe it that all 7 girls deserve to debut !! yepppp, YG is the mastermind..

@@LexListens since new jeans and the gen 4-5 artist. Age don’t really matter anymore. Most kpop company prefer young artist now. 14-17. Talented potential underage than an older talented trainee. That seems to be what agencies are preferring unless one day the government create a rule where underage cannot debut
