I decided to get rid of Mage of Knight. It's a great game, but I don't super enjoy playing by myself, but if I have the kind of friend around who I'd enjoy playing mage knight (which is rare) I'd rather play a different game with them instead.
I came here to say that I'm with you on Mage Knight! I enjoy the game, but the rules are just not good and it's an absolute beast to get to the table and set up and then carve out 2.5+ hours to play. I get why people love it and it's on my shelf, I just don't love it nearly as much as the 98% of the solo community.
Out of all the top 100s of any board game "influencer", yours have the most games we (me and my wife) share the opinion on of! For this, One Stop Coop Shop would be our go-to recommender for our future purchases. Looking forward to the rest of the list!
Releasing the list gradually like this creates constant tension about unnamed games... are they still coming up higher on the list, or did they not even make the cut??
Great list! I'm glad to see Clank! Catacombs on here because I was wondering how good it is. I was disappointed in the original Clank! I liked the deck building, but for me personally, it just felt like something was missing, but when I saw a playthrough of this, it looked like it was much more what I would enjoy. I also have ISS Vanguard, but I can tell I won't get to it till summer. Seeing it on your list makes it a high priority to do so early in the summer (like you, I'm a teacher, so I'm sure you understand). And I thought the latest Astro Knights was awesome! The additions to the game for this expansion made all the difference for me!. Thanks for the video! I'm loving this series!
The biggest surprises on this list were Last Night On Earth, Clank!, and Mage Knight--but your short summaries are fair, and I'll agree that some board games require a good expansion to make it a game you'll want to play again and again. Looking forward to the rest of your countdown!
I’m going to try to do a video of the dungeon delving mode soonish. It IS fun, but it also feels slightly tacked on. Like they don’t have standees for all the enemies and such. But if you also play the game with my unofficial solo mode, then I think it could be worth it ;)
@@OneStopCoopShop haha ok maybe I’ll wait to learn more about it if you end up doing a video on it. Was just wondering if it was like Bullet❤️⭐️, where competitive, co-op, and solo all work really well!
Interesting that you had Roll Player adventures on your list but not other narrative games like tainted grail and sleeping gods given that in the review you mentioned the tainted grail knocked your socks off
Playing Distant Skies more put it in the same category as the original Sleeping Gods: fun, but heavily flawed in balance. Roll Player Adventures was flawed too, but they fixed it better. As for Tainted Grail, I eventually found the original far too grindy. I love what I've played of Kings of Ruin, but when I made the top 100 list that hadn't delivered yet so I didn't feel right including it.
I have no problem with the model many use currently of a reference guide and a learn to play rulebook, but mage knight manages to make the reference rules hard to get through and they are missing rules 🙄
@@OneStopCoopShop Yes. Having multiples rulebooks makes a lot of sense. I find Voidfall is great that way. I cannot imagine learning Voidfall with manuals similar to Mage Knight. I guess with 10 years separating the 2, the comparison isn’t fair. They are both in my top 10 all time, no matter the rule books.
Last night on Earth? I tried to play when it first released. I said "tried". My character was killed before my turn. Had to wait 90 minutes before someone became available to play something else. Worst game design ever. A game where you might not even play.

Nothing wrong with that!

Wow, some real bangers in this video, Mike. Looking forward to the rest of the list!
Glad Aeon's End made the list, though I would've liked to have seen it higher
Mage knight only 61? You’re killing me smalls. 😀
Hahaha, I’m the sultan of swat!!!
(Jason) it’s higher for me. 50 at least.
Releasing the list gradually like this creates constant tension about unnamed games... are they still coming up higher on the list, or did they not even make the cut??
Some people do them by sets of 10, which is even more tortuous 😅
Great list Mike can't wait to see what else is on here.
Next one in a few days!

Not sure catacombs will fully make it work for you, but hopefully!
@@OneStopCoopShop That's okay. I have more games right now than I can play for years to come. I'm in no rush. 🙂

LNOE is very much a nostalgia ranking 😅
Nice to see MK higher up a list where it belongs! 😂 Really needs a 2nd edition IMHO.
Number 69! Nice!
Wonder if any other Level 99 games will show up... ;)
Big fan of Mini Mike!
But is he a fan of YOU?! Or is he going to stalk you in your nightmares ;)
Mage Knight is such a special game. Even 14 years after release!
It’s great for sure!
Nice to see Radlands in your greatest of all time!
It’s a great one
How often is this list coming out? Love it. It seems to take a while between posts or is it just me?
Weekly!
Cam has it correct. Once a week! Next one will be next Saturday or Sunday.
Your head is too small in this video. Please make it aggressively larger for the next one…
I’ll zoom in on a different facial feature for each game. “And for #54, my left nostril!!”
🤣
Preferably only the top of your head
Right on the balding spot!
Would you recommend BattleCON if I would only play it co-op (using the Devastation expansion)?

@mattmendonca73 co-op is fun, but definitely not a focus and fully awesome mode like bullet!
You put Mage Knight higher than two of your own designs- I don't think people can complain that much
Vlaada Chvatil is a much better designer than I am 😅

Yep. I cannot figure out how the Mage Knight team split the rule books.

@jeromed9750 oh for sure, I’m not criticizing the design of MK at all.
@@OneStopCoopShop Of course! Love your videos! :)
I found a copy of your game! Can't wait to try it! :)
Fun!! Which one
@@OneStopCoopShop Dark Dealings :)
@marielaporte4668 yay! Hope you enjoy it!
Mini Mike was great… can we have 2 mini mikes next time?
I’ll try to avoid showing the game entirely, and just fill the screen with mikes 😜
Maaaan, 61...! :D :D I didn't think it'd be on your list at all, to be honest. ;)
I still adore the design
Dude! You appear to have aged 10 years since last video! What the what? (jk, you're still lovely as ever)
LOL, don't say that too loudly!
Good list except Mage Knight should be top 20... 😎👍
Maybe it shows up twice! 😜
I am going to watch your videos regardless - you don't have to tempt me with more Mage Knight 🤣🤣🤣

Sounds pretty bad!! Lol
