The whole ghosts conversation reminds me of BBC's comedy show ghosts, and the headless body can't see or hear and is always walking past his head which is shouting instructions.

Karl is right. We actually can't say what does or doesn't think, including our own species. Worms are intelligent, all living beings and creatures are. We can't say what they do or don't think. We know they feel and do think inso much as we can prove other humans do. Consciousness is not quantifiable. There's evidence to show that not only creatures think and feel but other organisms do too.
I left a link in your last video about Karls predictions. Black Mirror tv show made episodes that are basically what Karl says in their podcast. Absolute nonsense that only Black Mirror could make into a cognitive episode but fun to see.

There have been scientific studies and experiments to show that plants do respond to things like music and the plant grows differently depending on not only its environment and whether or not atmospheric conditions and whether or not it gets water and sun light determine its growth patterns but also the type of audible noises that surrounds it. Plus they have built electronic devices that can detect a plant's different reactions to different conditions and even whether or not if you cut a limb off of it and when it gets watered it will make different types of noises and patterns that can be played through a speaker and you can actually hear those noises and patterns that are translated through the electronic device. It's crazy as hell but it's real.
