It can replace it, think many are thinking they are suppose to sound the same when there not ! Right out the gate it’s more clean ! And transparent ! Not only that it’s more improved ! Some say it’s sounds lighter not has heavy, but when you change the modes especially on C that weight comes back

@STyonk 0 seconds ago I purchased your Studio Rack preset- the NLS Busses don't have the .5 boost on 1st Insert. & the -2dB Cut on Gain of 7th Insert. Would like a tutorial on using your Studio Rack preset since it doesn't come with instructions or overview.
@@Azfurita Hey @Azfruria it is in serial, not in parallel ;) I just use the parallel channel in Waves Studiorack because I need another 8 insert slots. But the second line (dry) signal is not activated. Also JJ pans that channel the same way. The different processing on the left and right channel is a intended behavior of the NLS buss channel, replicating typical behavior of aging analog consoles.

As the color section itself applies a sort of HPF it is hard to say which frequency it is set, because you can't turn the color off by itself. I assume it is pre the saturation stage in the color section, rolling off the sub frequencies. But it certainly changes the phase in the subs. I just created some screenshots with the frequency response analyzer, so you can see for yourself: pluginplug.io/blog/orion-high-pass-filter
Yes :) We recreated the whole thing with two instances of the free Waves StudioRack plugin. You can get the presets here and also check out the sceenshots, where you can see which plugins were used: buymeacoffee.com/pluginplug/e/311882
@@royalinvasionproductionstv6370 not really. In the original Jayce Joshua the drive section are the NLS buss channels. In our preset we have Macro Knob that controls the Drive of the first NLS instance as well as deactivated sequentially the 6th and then the 2nd instance. This is how JJ explains in the Mix with the Masters sessions, how he uses them to dial in the perfect amount of drive. I guess that they wanted to have even more options with Orion. Also the sound is not 1 on 1 the same, as you can hear in our video as well.
@@pluginplugio hhmmm.....so I did see the MWTMs and I get the NLS Buss trick as far as what he said. I get a bit confused at the part where he says to deactivate the 6 and the 2. You think he meant leave the 6 on and turn off the 2 and leave on the 2 and deactivate the 6 or turn them both off at the same time?. He has three settings for this in the drive....also did you say you replaced the first NLS with a Marco knob?

The C setting in the drive sections sounds a lot more like the og NLS Bus
interesting, the same happens roughly to the EQ when you use a NAM to model/train on the NLS chain.
You have the hi-pass on the Orion. If you take it off you get a similar low end.

@@STyonk great idea! Let me script something. :)
the NLS chain its mean to be on Serial not paralel , I heard Josue say it in a live.
maybe that is why youre having that little Panning, some phasing issue , please try it on Serial and see if it gets better.

CPU , CRADDLE??
it doesn't report any latency to the DAW but it's quite heavy on the CPU. It's looks like it used more than double the resources than iZotope Ozone.
It's as heavy 140 plugins tho
