I agree! My husband stayed home for two weeks after I had my second baby and I thought I was going to struggle a lot with two but I just adapted to the I HAVE TO DO IT mindset and I just do it. Same goes with going shopping or going anywhere with two it’s such a transition but we are SUPER moms when it comes to raising our kids and no one should have the right to judge or question parenting traits as long as your children are safe tantrums and meltdowns are a part of a child’s development it’s hard when people judge you because your kids meltdown in public as if you wanted that to happen?? I’m learning so much and it’s so nice to connect with other moms.

When my husband is at home, I expect him to pitch in, don’t get me wrong, he definitely does, but not always as much as I’d like or he doesn’t do things the way I do them, so I get annoyed.
On one hand, I like having his help, but on the other hand, it’s easier when I just do everything myself so that things get done right the first time.

Thank you for not showing your kids meltdowns. It’s not right. I’ve unsubscribed from a lot of RUclips moms for showing too much. There’s a fine line that some people cross over where it just becomes pure exploitation. I respect that! Thank you.

What you said at the end totally resonated with me... When my partner is home, I almost feel resentment when he is here and doesn't realize he could be doing ALL OF THE THINGS (however my reasonable side knows I should give him grace because he doesn't have the maximum efficiency mom mode we have). Good job, Tara. You're awesome!

  • @bettygifford6619
    @bettygifford6619 5 лет назад +4

I love how well you explained why you don’t show your children’s most vulnerable times during meltdowns to the entire world ❤️ I avoid taking pictures or videos of mine during those times as well. It’s just not something I feel is right for me to do to them. I think a lot of people in today’s world of social media and the internet forget that the small moments in time they see of a family’s life are just that, small moments... not every moment. They are short, curated pieces of their day that they want to share. I have certain family member who always ask how my kids are so “perfect” also, then act shocked when I say that my 2.5 old has been almost in a constant meltdown state for the past 4 months. It’s just not something I want to share when I know she’s having a rough time already.
Also, we LOVE Biscuit books and those word puzzles. My son was a super early reader and is now reading around a 3rd grade level in 1st grade. Making learning fun is such a wonderful thing. As far as trying to encourage a little one not to tear books up, we’ve really just always encouraged them to respect the books so they can read them for longer and to use gentle hands. Little hands can have such a hard time grabbing pages to turn and remembering not to be too rough when they’re excited :)

Tara!! I don’t know how you do so much! The idea of loading up a newborn and 2 toddlers alone into the car every morning is overwhelming. You handle it like a boss and are inspiring.
Kids will be kids. Tantrums are normal! You seem to remain calm and handle it well. You’re doing a great job, and the kids are so beautiful, smart and well loved. I’m always impressed with Bailey and how much she knows and can do. Enjoy these crazy moments.

This has got to be my favourite RUclips video I’ve ever watched. So real and honest yet not something your kids will look back on and cringe, they’ll just laugh. I loved this vlog! Oh and I seen other comments suggesting visiting a library and borrowing books, I’d love to see your local library! As a library employee, don’t worry about your kids possibly damaging books, so many come back damaged and ruined it’s not a big deal, especially for children’s material. Love your family! ❤️

I completely understand what you mean about being solo for the day vs having someone there. It’s just a mindset that you know you are responsible for everything so you end of being as productive as possible to make sure everything runs smoothly. And no expectations of someone else means no fighting. I know just with one child I get in the mindset. I expect my boyfriend to do certain things and then we argue but if he wasn’t home, I would have just done it myself anyway 😂 but that doesn’t mean when he is home, he can just relax haha

Thank you so much for your honesty. It’s so hard to find a middle ground when you see the PICTURE PERFECT lives you tubers portray and it makes it so hard to feel accomplished. I’m literally watching your video and typing this and folding laundry but I just had my second baby boy June 28th so seeing your newborn journey with a toddler like shay because my first baby is 14 months old it has been very nice to relate to a mom whose going through it. Your an amazing role model and I just want to say thank you for just being real and for putting your family first. It’s so hard to take care of everything and still feel like your not doing enough but again it’s nice to be able to connect on a real level. I started my channel a year ago when I had my first baby and I became so discouraged because I wasn’t able to do videos like everyone else and still take care of my baby now I have two and I guess I’ve just been trying to find time which I will never have again and maybe I just need to share what I’ve learned just like you are. It’s not always perfect but I know you’ve helped me get through it so I want to do the same.
THANKS A MILLION! You deserve all the good things in your life. 💐

I'm currently experiencing being a stay at home mom now. I tell you I feel like I should just go back to work😭😭 love my kids dearly, but the work load is bizarre kids are 13, 4, and 2 months old. Before staying home I was a full time nurse. I'm so not use to this life!

Going thru the same thing right now.
I feel like being a stay at home mom, is so much harder than just going to work everyday. The hardest part has been the isolation, not seeing coworkers everyday.
I have a nine month old, and it’s hard to get out of the house. Since I don’t live close to town, and I try to keep her nap routines everyday. I sure hope like people say, that it gets better. Because part of me does miss work, even though I love my daughter so much.

06peggs it’ll get better. I had to just get over wanting the life I had before I had my first baby a year ago. It’s almost like i expected for things to be the same after he was born and they will never be the same. I now have a newborn and I wouldn’t trade my life now for anything but missing what you had just reminds you that what your doing now is so much more significant because you are raising tomorrows generation. Being a mom comes with such a strong and challenging territory but just know that your not alone and that while you have to limit yourself or change certainly things or plan around nap times it will get better and they will grow up so fast that looking back and wanting to hold them like little babies won’t be possible just enjoy the NOW and try not to wish on the past. Look at the present so that your days feel like new beginnings. 💐your daughter has the best mom for choosing to stay home with her to raise her. Your doing great! Hang in there.

Ok first of all I loved this vlog! Hats off to you because that made me so tired 😂 but I totally agree with you on the spouse being gone being easier! After many years of my husband working night shift and doing everything (homework, dinner, bath and bed) by myself with the kids when he switched to days I was so out of my element.

Girl I can relate. I have a 15 month old boy and a 4 year old boy. My 4 year old just started school and it feels like I have my days back. Husband is in the military so he's gone often so I can relate that when hes gone I can get things done easier without a 3rd kid (him) adding to my to do list. You are doing great and personally I love to see toddlers throw tantrums. It like a comedic break in my day. I look forward to your videos everyday and watch them when my toddler is sleeping. Stay at home moms unite!

I thought I was the only feeling that way. a lot of mommy’s always look like they got it together when really were all going through the same. Hopefully those who understand and going thru the same. We all overcome it together in time! ❤️ love you Tara! You’re a great mother and wife. Theirs nothing wrong with expecting your significant other to help you do some things when you can’t or don’t wanna. Being a mother is a lot of work. We deserve a break. I hope someday men can acknowledge and understand what women go thru as a mother!

I can completely understand what you saying with the hubby being home. When our 3rd baby was born he was in a different state so it was just me 24/7 and I got everything done plus some. Now we had our 4th born and he works overnight shifts 5 days a week and sleeps during the day so it just me and I get wayyy more done than when he has days off. We deff feel empowered and put our supermom capes on. Great job momma.

100% YES!!!!! 27 minutes and 13 seconds......it is harder with my husband home because I feel like it should be easier but instead it is harder and I'm running late and it's chaos.
