    There is a feral Russian blue cat I've been feeding for close to a year now. I got him an insulated cat house. He is a cute cat, he is skittish but not like he was initially.

    I went to a shelter planning on getting an older tabby cat but this kitten kept meowing at me with the voice of an angel. I got her for $5 and was told she was a domestic shorthair but she was actually a Russian Blue. She picked me.
    I’ve had her for 5 years and she’s the perfect pet for me. Very smart and sleeps by my side. However if you are a person with multiple pets a Russian Blue gets very jealous. She is my shadow.

    This channel is great.Lot's of good tips for new cat owners and i completely understand the "kitten from the breeder dilemma". I have also severe allergy to cats but when we visited our friends who happen to have russian blue cat, i had no reaction whatsoever..and it was decided 😁. We started with our research in December and finally getting our kitten in September.It is worth the wait! I am soooo excited 💙

    we were able to adopt 2 Russian Blues (or at least Russian Blue mixes?) late last year as kittens, my only regret is that I didn't take more videos of them as kittens to be able to share them with more people.

    I had a Russian Blue growing up ("Natasha")-for whatever reason she bonded to me and essentially me alone--she would follow me everywhere I went and if I wasn't in her sight when I was home she would get upset. Even when I would take a bath although she hated water she would sit on the bathroom sink and watch me and cry out if I put my head under the water out of fear I was "drowning"--will be getting a new "Blue" next year when I move to a larger condominium (there is a breeder here in Toronto, Canada but they are "pricey"--$1000++)

      @@katandcatschannel Have you ever tried to "slow blink" with Spike? apparently, when a kitten first opens their eyes and her mother is nursing her/him she will "slow blink" with the kittens as a sign of love--when you do this to any cat it is still considered to be a sign of love/affection (you don't blink quickly just very slow blinks while she is looking directly at you)

      So funny - I found this channel to get more info on the Russian Blue before we picked up our kitten yesterday, and we also got ours from Kailasa in Illinois! Our little guy definitely isn't as brave as you have said Spike was when you first brought him home, he's been under the couch all day, but I'm optimistic he's going to be a great cat! I also appreciated from Megan all of the official documentation she provided so we could be sure he was a pure breed Russian Blue.

      I live in North suburb of Chicago, and I'm considerring getting a russian blue based on my lifestyle. My selection narrowed down to Kailasa and MeoWoff. I contacted MeoWoff first, but they refused to provide their European breeder info due to their confidentiality rules and said that I will receive its pedigree after purchase, where the name of the breeder will be indicated. Since I can't see the cat nor dig into the breeder's info before making the purchase, I'm really concerned if I should reserve a kitten on their website.

    I adopted a a cat after I was gifted with a kitten. Ninja and Marvel. Ninja is s tiny British Shorthair Black and is full of bravado. Our adopted kitten Marvel it turns out is a Russian Blue and although the two are the same age, Marvel is a GIANT ! A very gentle GIANT, where Ninja just wants to scrap all the time. They both chose me when I turned up, however, they are so different.

    Thanks for the upload Kat, it was very informative and good to hear the support of genuine ethical breeders that put the breed of the cats ahead of of other agendas. Here in Germany we have a similar process, but previously end of last year and this year I was on five waiting lists, only to be currently on two waiting lists at the moment for a RB, due to the demand. Hopefully I will be able to secure my new companion this year. It is wonderful to see Spike growing up. Keep up the nice informative content. This breed is a magical one.

    • @katandcatschannel
      @katandcatschannel  3 года назад

      Hi! I would look on TICA.org or the cat fanciers association to see if there are breeders by you and then contact the breeders for how much they charge. Russian blues from reputable breeders can be on the more expensive side though. But I would recommend waiting until you’re able to go to a reputable breeder rather than finding a cheaper cattery because this may lead to scams or unethical breeding!
