Although I played GT5 when I was younger, I was totally unprepared for how nostalgic I felt when I played it again recently, and that's partly down to the awesome soundtrack. Last GT game to have a soul? Maybe...
@@apophisstr6719 I don't really think that GT Sport or GT7 have bad soundtracks, because a big part of them comes directly from GT5 and GT6, with some new additions that sound really well. For example, most of the music that sounds in the main menu is the same that sounded in GT5 Prologue.
@@gransimone Well, that's what I pointed out. Instead of having new ones, S & 7 are mostly reused tracks, which...while those are all absolute classics, something is really missing when a new game doesn't had its unique soundtrack, the magic is just absent.
@@gransimone GT Sport's soundtrack had to grew on me. When it first came out I wasn't really happy with the direction it went but I ended up enjoying in the long run. At least that's better than 7 where it's pretty much most of the soundtrack is reused music.
Nothing like smooth Japanese jazz to set up a game experience. Always been a Forza boy with Microsoft's electro tracks but jazz in the menu of a racing game hits different
Hard to believe this era of Gran Turismo ended 11 years ago with the release of GT6... Honestly that game still feels new to me. Guess that's probably because I never played Sport or 7...
Who here has played GT and GT2? I remember how massive GT2 was at the time, the biggest racing game ever, I used to rent it at Blockbusters. Those were the days..
first gran turismo game was GT5: Prologue, then started playing all the GT games before it and instantly loved the series, but screw driving mission 34 in GT4
definitely i agree, although GT3,GT4 musics are goatly too, but i enjoy GT5, GT6 and sport's music more, they are more repeatable to listen to with all those jazz, downtempo and lounge, GT3, GT4's music are great for in game, i guess they are jsut shorter and solely for the purpose of in game menus, but GT5,GT6, sport's music doesn't just suitable only in the menu, they are more widely acceptable to listen to anywhere else
My lord, i love this playlist! Reminds me of me and my dad playing GT6 together when i was 5 or 6. The reason we played GT6 is because the store we bought from has a bundle where you can get a free copy of GT6! I am now 14, and nostalgia just hit like a truck.
although it does not snow in my country, but the vibe GT gaves are just magical, i have christmas tree in my room as decorations, turning on the AC to amke my room cool, turn on the tv and GT sports during christmas time and just stay at the menu listening to whatever christmas jazz they playing, it's just magic a game can give you this cozy home vibe
Huge fan of House, Electronica, Nu Jazz, etc. and I absolutely didn't remember this game franchise had such an impeccable OST. Everything feels so precious
15:21| MAKOTO - Time Is Changing / 26:56| Cargo - GT Force / 41:27| Daisuke Kawai - West 132 St. 42:35 / 1:17:22| Satoshi Bando - Farewell / 1:48:45| MAKOTO - New Beginning / 2:09:38| Yuki Oike - Age of Aquarius /
GT5 and GT6 menu music was pure bliss. Music that parallels the love and passion one can have for cars. GT sport did decently well with new additions to the menu soundtrack. The biggest disappointment came with GT7. I will never understand why they made it where the menu music disrupts and changes each time you enter a new screen (nevermind the lack of quality in the menu ost outside the GT5&6 collection). This really made it unplayable for me, crazy as that sounds.
you realize that time has passed when you start to listen to musics that used to bring joy to do boring stuff like monthly finances... keep fighting my drivers
I wish there was a way to easier get the master of all these soundtracks. I would personally pay for a physical copy or high resolution digital files for my audio system.
yeah same GT4 was still great though but their music is more like only for the in game stuff as they are short and kinda keep looping, they are more like melody of instruments, GT5, GT6, GT SPORTS has their own genre as strong focus, GT5 strong at jazz, down tempo, lounge, some electronic/dnb GT6 strong at electronic jazz, electronic down tempo sports strong at lounge and some little jazz
Although I played GT5 when I was younger, I was totally unprepared for how nostalgic I felt when I played it again recently, and that's partly down to the awesome soundtrack. Last GT game to have a soul? Maybe...
I wouldn't say the newer GT had no soul, but the soundtracks (or lack thereof you could say) are definitely disappointing.

Makes miss GT5. From the drift and drag lobbies to the dirty nascar and clean hardcore races.
The C6 Corvette as cover car for GT PSP is really aesthetically pleasing
Totally agreed
Oh that's what it is! My poor ass thought that's a Peugeot headlight.. :(
Nothing like smooth Japanese jazz to set up a game experience. Always been a Forza boy with Microsoft's electro tracks but jazz in the menu of a racing game hits different
Yeah, imo Forza Motorsport 6 has the best soundtrack of the FM games and is still beaten by GT4/GT5 in terms of sheer vibes.
Hard to believe this era of Gran Turismo ended 11 years ago with the release of GT6... Honestly that game still feels new to me. Guess that's probably because I never played Sport or 7...
GT7 has reused a lot of these tracks thankfully, but some of the better ones are missing
GT5 had the best music of any GT game, bar none.
yeah GT5> GT6>SPORT>GT4 for me
True
26:56| Cargo - GT Force has a strong ocean's eleven vibe mixed with brazilian girls speaking gibberish.
29:00 she keep saying "Que Delícia" lol it means "Hm, delicious!" lol
I wish these were all on apple music so bad
Same, and Spotify
Who here has played GT and GT2? I remember how massive GT2 was at the time, the biggest racing game ever, I used to rent it at Blockbusters. Those were the days..
Was listening religiously the GT5 OST early 2010, and I'm still surprised with song I didn't knew 19:49
This was on my playlist I would listen on the bus to work/ school, 😁
this was my favorite track, lol
44:57| KEMMEI - Love & Peace DA BEST !
42:15 this one goes insanely hard
yeaaaahhhhh 😎
It's literally the music for Used Car Dealership in GT7. Love it.
I am glad some of these tracks made it to GT7. As someone who never got to experience this era, but loves the music, I am happy!
never played a Gran Turismo game in my life but those tracks are so good, thank you for the mix.
5:50 OH MY GOD THIS IS GOOD
I've had this playlist on repeat for the last few weeks, GT5 and 6 had such amazing soundtracks and this has brought back so many memories
Thanks for the mix! GT's music is always perfect for writing.
One of the BEST videogame OST mixes ever! Thank you very much! Now we can enjoy some of the best tracks ever made in just a single playlist :)
first gran turismo game was GT5: Prologue, then started playing all the GT games before it and instantly loved the series, but screw driving mission 34 in GT4
Really wish these games were still online
gt5 and the psp version were my childhood

I jammed along to this in my kitchen with some instrument on a digital tablet - it was very nice
My favourite of all the GT OST's by a long way. Thank You.

Ok, somebody was making love to this track @1:17:21
oh great now i hear moaning from the master bedroo-
Oh that's almost any of the music made by that artist. Just lookup his music in gran turismo and you'll see it
hmmmmm mhmmm oh yes my favourite tracks
thank you bro. i found other gt playlists and they had a depressing lack of gt2 and 3
Thank you for uploading. I was 3 when I played gt3 with my father's ps3.

29:40 singing/talking in Portuguese BR o.O` "que delicia!" - funny because came from nowhere talking in a way that she has a "hidden agenda"
1:05:00 path finder sounds really similar to the Spirited Away theme
This is amazing, thank you for sharing.
Reading my book of Axler's book of Linear Algebra with this shit. It is perfect.
