Got a few spare dollars left after that latest upgrade or rig build?
Consider putting them in the hands of those most in need, right now.
This is Give Directly - not a sponsor, nor affiliated with RC-TNT in any way, except that I've made this little campaign where we can combine our powers and do some good in the world. Check it out here: community.givedirectly.org/ca... - Авто/Мото
Quite the novelty. I wouldn't have checked this kinda video unless it had been done by you, but it was quite entertaining. I hope I don't get into these... so many kinds of RC, my walltet just can't keep up!!
Dude I know the feeling. Hey, have youtube channel, that's the justification, right? Lol
I never had any interest in these either until I randomly looked into them the other week. And then I showed it to my crawler mates and they thought it was awesome, which made me think there would probably be others of us unaware of this related niche. And so here we are! Sorry, wallet.
@@RCTNT hahaha, fair enough! :D
You want to blow your mind? Check out some of the German ones. $15K USD and up. They DO have hydraulic pumps and reservoirs and are unbelievable. I mean truly works of art.
wow, I can't imagine having "toys" like this when I was a kid, in the 80s.
Heh, same! I used to dream of such things as what's around today. Things were starting to get better in the later 80s as plastics were improving and by the early-90s I'd saved up for my first proper stadium truck kit build. But things like this, for so little money by modern standards, were just unheard of!
I use a mini digger for my job so get to play around for real and get paid also 😂
@mavicprotoe3959 and that is the desirable outcome, isn't it! I suppose that's happening for me with youtube. A situation for which I am indeed grateful! Thanks for dropping by 😎
Right??????......that's why I had to get one...got the front end loader too...lol
Looking for the dump truck now
Interesting thanks for sharing always wondered about rc tractors/machinery.
Thanks for watching! I find this stuff really interesting and fun, too :)
I waited for so looong to get any construction vehicle thats not totally garbage and does not cost a 4000€. Thanks for review, keep delivering. Huina has some more to show:)
Woohoo! Glad you enjoyed! I'm looking at an upgrade video or series for this thing. Made the 'stick' cylinder gears click yesterday (through misuse, tried to lift the track when I didn't realise a bucket tooth was stuck under it), so there's potential for it to fail completely if I'm not careful. Keep an eye out for that, it's coming.
This is a very solid machine and when I consider it's cost next to a typical rock crawler, I think the value for money is about the same. Yeah, they're making a dollar on these things, but they're thoughtfully designed and the value is there, I think. Cheers
@@RCTNT thank you for review cause there is not much from advanced rc guys about this digger.
@@Grecki_Bog_Domestos I had noticed that the when looking before I bought, yeah. Glad it was helpful. Can confirm there's more coming now - we'll do an upgrade and tuning video on it in about a month. Catch you then!
Digital FPV on this Badboy would be amazing.
Even analogue fpv was pretty fun
ruclips.net/video/AHXCgrAwyiU/видео.html
Digital would be even better, for sure!
Great video man! We use a huina 1592 at the moment, but have a 1594 coming for our next shoot 🤙🤙
Nice. I've got the 1599 here patiently awaiting a video too. They're fun eh.
that thing looks like mad fun!
It really, truly is! I never had any interest in these before but once I found them I had to share it with my crawling peeps. It's so much fun!
Hello bossing watching from Philippines.nice huina excavator i like it😊
Hey, thanks 🙏
Nice rap-up. Thanks for the info and impressions. =)
No worries! I also have a follow-up vid that covers some upgrades I made, if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/M5xmmF577og/видео.html
Cheers :)
You can use it to make tracks for crawlers
Very nice video presentation, I am thinking about another excavator maybe one like that
Glad you enjoyed it. I've got an upgrade video coming soon when all the delayed bits finally get here! Cheers
@@RCTNT I have you on notification so when you launch it I will see it. Looking forward
This reminds me of the bosch mini chainsaw: no one needs one but damn, everyone wants one! lol
I've not heard of it but I love my little electric chainsaw! Super handy for small jobs and no mess or hassle of getting the big unit out. Nice analogy :)
Awesome review my rc friend, great machine, good job 😀👍
Hey, thanks for watching! Appreciate the encouragement :)

Time goes by and now the state of the art are the double E e160e electric excavator.
Fair enough. I just went and looked at the EC160E and I don't necessarily agree about it being better - they both use electric actuators, right? It does look better, for sure.
Certainly, the little Huina here never was state of the art. Cheap, yes. But people have been making hydraulic RCs for quite some years now, even some smaller ones which generally leave the actuator-powered ones in the dust.
I'm building a better version of my large hydraulic excavator, upgrading the brushed motors to brushless and improving the oil tap servos. There are usually ways to improve these things :)
Greeeeeat 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 congratulation 🇮🇹
Nice Video Excavator my friend 🤗👍
Nice excavator, my RC friend :)
About the weight discrepancy, it could be a translation error between the Chinese weigh scale ”Jin” vs kg. Jin and kg sounds similar in their language but aren’t the same. 2 Jin = 1kg which might explain why the stipulated weight of 11+ was double what you weighed in kilogram 5+kg.
Anyway I love your channel and this little distraction of yours is seriously tempting me to get an excavator! Thanks for putting out the videos.
Hey no worries! Thanks for the explanation, that's a good theory. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your positive words :)
If I would have a big (and private) yard I would buy these instant !
For sure, they're so much fun! Put it on your list for "some day". You won't regret it :)
@@RCTNT Haha definitely on the some day list. (or spend the money and hire a real one for a day) ;)
Yeah man that'd be fun
I got mine for about a $100 from Amazon happy to subscribe.
You got a 1580 for $100?!
When? How? I have questions! Bargain of the century here! Nice one
Probably the plastic version?
You've gotta think so, right?
Liking your channel more and more.
There is a long arm excavator by the same company that’s orange you should try out! I like seeing these before buying them this is much appreciated!
Maybe I will, thanks for the prompt. I'll check it out. That's the 1551, you mean?
It's on the way, so we'll check that out in the coming weeks at some point.
Awesome video buddy but I got a question, the link in the description to get this takes you to Amazon and the brand that the link takes you to is a “top race” brand, is it the same brand just renamed?
Oops, thanks. I've added a note on the video description now to address that. It's the exact same machine, just with different branding. I also noticed they have updated the radio transmitter now, but the machine is the identical, to the best of my close inspection!
Awesome! I just wanted to make sure. I figured it was and thanks for getting back so quick!
No worries at all. Thanks for using my link. If you buy it, I really hope you enjoy it. Great little machine, this. Cheers
I sort of want to see it run your crawler course. Yes, you can use the arm lol. Have you seen these things maneuver on a hill like that? I am impressed with the Hulna. I had no idea. Well explained with some good laughs too.
Oof I wouldn't want to try!
But I have small pile of upgrades sitting here waiting for a video update on this little machine. Really must get around to that!
Funny thing is, that original CAT 336d is 3.29m wide, and Huina 1580 is 18cm wide, which makes for 1:18 scale. Definately not 1:14. Same goes for WPL B36 and JJRC Q61 truck. On the box it says 1:16, while after calculating the dimensions, it sums up for 1:18.
It's a bit cheeky, but that's just a shadow of the dozer they make. It is 1/16 on the box but I calculated it to average out to 1/29 scale!! I've got a video around here somewhere for it.
Thanks for posting this as I’m on the fence about getting into this hobby. I think I have too many now but wth.
Haha yes, they do add up. RC construction equipment is super fun though! (Hydraulics is really where it's at, but $$$ is a barrier to entry unfortunately. Huina bridges the gap reasonably well, at least with the excavator).
Chinese manufacturers lie and then lie some more. You making out it doesnt really matter is worse. But thx for pointing out the b.s. Now im not buying one.
You know alot about rcs am wondering if you could help me my main board went out on my 1580 exavor and I was just wondering if I can get away with buying a new board for it or do I have to buy the new radio as well bout together
Hm, I don't know for sure, but I'd expect that when you turn a controller on and then the new board, it should bind and "just work". I can't promise this, but I'm pretty sure you can just replace the board. If it helps, it's what I would do! Hopefully it works out!
good rc🤩🤩🤩
Hey Craig, wondering if you lnow how to bind the 1580 transmitter to the excavator? Iv got a new transmitter for mine but am struggling connecting it. Thanks
I couldn't find the specific binding process for the Huina 1580 RC excavator in the forum discussions I checked. The threads mostly focused on general discussions about the excavator, upgrades, and issues users have faced with their models, but they didn't provide a step-by-step guide on how to bind a new transmitter to the excavator.
Since the binding process can often be quite specific and might involve a particular sequence of powering on the transmitter and the excavator, along with possibly pressing certain buttons in a specific order, it might be helpful to search through RC forums or communities dedicated to construction vehicle models.
Sometimes, experienced users share detailed guides or can offer advice based on their experiences with similar models. In the absence of a clear guide, you might also consider reaching out on these forums directly with your question. Members of communities like RCGroups often have a wide range of experience and might be able to offer you the specific advice you need for the Huina 1580. Good luck!
@@RCTNT Well I appreciate that anyway. I've emailed Huina as well as researched a few forums....I'll continue my search. Thanks!
If you work it out, share with the class. It'd be good to know for future reference. Thanks!
@@RCTNT will do!
Giddy mate thanks for the upload. Great video! Curious, how much does a machine with real hydraulics cost? And are there any in Australia that aren’t as much as the real thing lol in price thanks mate.
They are getting cheaper. One way is to buy one of these Huina 1580 models and spend about the same again on a hydraulic conversion kit. The next cheapest way is to get one like mine: ruclips.net/video/pKm4xhfe-I8/видео.html . Not in Australia, but that's what I know of anyway!
Brasil 🚜👍
Thanks for the review. Do you have a photo of the excavator next to the scx24? I have been looking for a scale excavator to go with my scx24s but the only 1:24 scale excavators I could find do not match the performance of even the more basic 1:14 or 1:16 scale excavators. I found a 1:20 scale excavator that has good performance, but it is priced far too high for my budget. So thus I've been looking for some midrange 1:14/1:16 scale excavators instead.
Thanks!
Hi Jonathan, you want this video at the 2:25 mark, give or take:
ruclips.net/video/SKGPLi9tRnM/видео.html
That's the Scx24 JLU right next to the 1580.
The scale is getting closer. It isn't exact but it's not too bad.
Also, you get a driver's perspective of size difference via FPV in the SCX24 at about the 3:14 mark on this video:
ruclips.net/video/AHXCgrAwyiU/видео.html
Hey. How much most i use to get a very god exvatacor? Is huina 1593 good? Can you name one i should buy? around 400 500 dollar?
For that money, this model (1580) is still the best choice. The 1593 is weaker, but if you're only playing lightly, it'll do. Stretch to 1k and you may be able to find a basic hydraulic one that'll be a shade better.
Do you know how long the run time/ battery life is? Im sorry if you already said it in the video, but i didn't catch it.
I'd have to guess as I haven't used the stock electronics in it for some time. 25 minutes, give or take?
@@RCTNT thank you

Hi I just brought one yesterday was playing with it today the worm drivr on on bucket is over screwing out there should be limit switch on it and seaping oill from the drive too ☹️have contacted the shop will take back on Wednesday 😮💨
Ah that's no good! Hope they get you sorted easily. It's a well designed machine overall so maybe it was just a dud switch or something. Sorry to hear it anyway!
Thank you 🙂👍
bro one qeustion , the oil for smoking how long can you used it before there oil back aigain need?? and is the smoke danger inside??
A long time. It comes with a little bottle for it and you only use a few drops at a time. It'll last more play sessions than you'll use it, most likely.
No danger. Uses fine copper braid with voltage passed through it to heat up, like a car cigarette lighter. The liquid smokes at a relatively low temperature. Completely contained, enclosed, and quite safe 👍
i mean if i do tomrrow 4 drops and i long can i play before i need back give it drops
Oh right, 15 to 20 minutes on 2-3 drops, from memory. It's not a big deal, easy to refill.
thanks sorry btw for bad engels
dit you know whith one is better then hunia 580 and bigger.?
For that kind of money they should have made forward and reverse proportionate.
I kinda agree, but if it helps, it's too slow to really be a problem. It didn't stand out to me during testing, for whatever its worth!
Great review, thanks. The weight should be 7 kg.
Thanks! Re weight, I don't know what to tell you, there. I reported what I weighed and those same scales report 5kg when I weigh a 5kg weight plate, 2.5kg for same and 10kg for same, so they're accurate. I guess manufacturing processes aren't the tightest with these things, but still, a 2kg weight difference? Are you sure yours is 7kg? (not saying it isn't, but 2kg is a big difference between our two units!)
That is awesome
They're still quite popular. I need to get around to doing a video for my bigger hydraulic one
@RC-TNT you have a bigger one??? Haha awesome.
Another annoying question. Does having a gyro help when just crawling focused? I'm buying a decent transceiver today.
Yes I do and it's epic!
Gyro is pointless on a crawler :)
@RC-TNT sweet. Money saver. How many channels? I plan on doing alot of custom wiring and such. I've been testing engine sounds and it's a method no one uses hehe
I've made a few different engine sound setups myself. At least 5 different kinds: custom arduino one that included reverse beep, smoke control and start up and stop rumble; a diesel one by a UK hobbyist; a couple of cheap Chinese no brand ones; the ess one and duo ones; the Cross RC branded one in my BC8 Mammoth; plus a couple of others I can picture but can't recall names for.
Though an extra channel can be helpful to change pitch, volume, start/stop and horn sounds, you really only need a y-harness on the throttle channel.
A channel for winch.
1 or 2 for diff lock.
Another for high/low speed.
For cost effectiveness, the best one I can recommend that does all this is the Flysky GT5: asiate.es/aff?l=150074&i=76070
The nice thing about the GT5 is that you can buy the FS-A3 and FS-A6 receivers for very little money to add models to the radio. I have several GT5 handsets here and their 20 model memories are mostly full. They're great.
someone plz??..how to clean this excavator cause that not water resistant
Dry toothbrush for tracks, wet wipe for body.
Can disassemble and really clean at the parts level if you got really muddy!
@@RCTNT thank you very much
can you use it in the rain or.? of you wanan clean him can you clean it whit much water
I mean, it'll survive a light shower, but no, it isn't waterproof. In your last question I answered with my upgrade article - that includes a section on waterproofing the PCBs in the machine. You can clean it with a rag or a wipe. Brush out the tracks with stiff bristled brush. Don't use a hose or running water.
oke thanks i test him right now i do 4 drops in it it smokes no more ibdo back 2 drops no smoke any more how i can send you a video
Do whatever the manual says, don't exceed it or it won't work. It's been a while, but doesn't it say just 1 or 2 drops? If you've done more, just keep using the machine with the smoker on and eventually it'll start to work again. Might take a few play sessions though.
but that's just it, I received it and I don't know if it was there or not, so I did something like 4-5 times as stated on paper, it worked the day I cut it, it works and suddenly nothing stops anymore.
You've added too much oil and it worked and then stopped working? Or you added the correct amount and it worked, and then stopped?
i order mine today i have a quistion from belgium can you build a guy on de steering wheele or you dont can open the door or something
See my upgrade video. You can't open the door but you can get to the cab from underneath. Some disassembly required. Enjoy!
kan you say my whit one the 580 or the volvo ec160e???? what you think of that i am from belgium bad engels sorry
I am not familiar with the EC160E, I'm sorry. (Maybe I should get one and compare the two... Edit. Oh I see, this one will be like the 1592. Weaker, very likely, for that money.)
The 1580 is good, though. Hydraulic even better, but that's more money.
And if you spend less, on like the 1592, the weaker gears will be a problem.
I like the 1580. Mine is still great, even a few years later.
and its slow too cirle arround whit the volvo ce160e you can set it slow and fast
Once you're using it, I don't expect that will be a big deal either way
У меня такой же)2 года уже и не сломался ни разу

Needs head tracking fpv
Heh, I did experiment with fpv in this machine a couple of years back, though not with head tracking!
ruclips.net/video/AHXCgrAwyiU/видео.html
I have huina 1550 but not strong.
The 1580 needed more power too, hence my upgrade video, so I can appreciate the 1550 would be lacking. Still, they're great models eh!
Too bad you have to change the box with the screws and that you can't do this with your remote control
You can do it with the radio with an upgrade - a powered, tool-free bucket-swap adapter!
It's included in my more detailed write-up (including links to where I got the parts):
rc-tnt.com/how-to/huina-1580-upgrades/
its not hydraulic then
This one? Nope, linear actuators :)
Weight of this one?
See 1:06 onwards. Bit of an explanation for that, but mine was 5.4kg.
(and thanks for asking the question! My chapters were all messed up. Fixed now, thanks to you!)
@@RCTNT sorry
@@unknown-nd6li you didn't mess anything up! Your question led me to realise I'd made a mess. You helped me fix it! Thanks again :)
😂😂😂
You didn't measure the strength, you measured the weight of the cab part
It was imperfect but it did measure the strength of each component. The cab sits on the chassis, over the tracks. That's on the ground. We're measuring the arm pulling up, away from the ground.
@@RCTNT but you hadn't pinned it down to the ground, the only thing holding it down was leveraging against its own weight
@norro21 the chassis was being pressed into the ground. The arm was trying to lift. The scale measures the pull upward from the ground anchor in this case.
In the description theres an link to aliexpress whats an Chinese scam website why did you put an link there?
A Chinese scam website? I've used a mixture of local stores and big online places for many years. AliExpress, Banggood and direct factories in China, AsiaTees in Hong Kong, Amain & small manufacturers & sellers in the USA, Hobbies Direct and Metro Hobbies locally to me here in Australia, etc etc. No scam, just the places I've been using for about a decade in most cases, and for some, much longer.
