Awesome job making an intimidating song approachable. I've had some of the rough edges for this tune worked out for a while now but never sat down to really get the subtle details. This will be the push. You're underrated Beto.
Thanks TM! Yeah... Hendrix is an endless source of inspiration. Every time that I come back to one of his songs I learn something new. It seems that there is always a detail that has gone unnoticed.
Thought it was the neck pick-up, but wanted to be sure. Sure sounds good in that position.🎶🎶🎶 I plan to play it on my PRS SE Custom 24-08 with the coil split for single coil sound. Should sound good. Your amp controls settings would be interesting to know in these videos in addition to the tuning. Just a thought. We can always play around until we figure it out. @@betolacaze
@@audiophileman7047Yeah, I think it'll sound good 😉 I recorded it some years ago. I don't remember the amp settings or pedals. Actually there are many variables: It's the combination of guitar, guitar settings, amp, amp settings, pedals, pedal settings, etc. I don't put this information on the videos because I don't want to induce the people to any brand/model of equipment. And there isn't only one way to achieve a sound. For this clean Hendrix sound I usually use an overdrive (with low gain - gain at 9 o'clock for example) into a clean amp with spring reverb.
What a lot of people don't realize is that Hendrix's music is heavily blues influenced. He once said that it was just "electric blues". That means reducing gain in a song like Hey Joe. Wind Cries Mary is another example. I have a Positive Grid Spark 40 amp that has so many modeling options. It really is a nice amp and great for learning how to play guitar. I love the rhythm section accompaniment. Anyway, thanks for sharing your settings with me and all you do to help us learn how to play guitar. 👍👍👍@@betolacaze
@@audiophileman7047It seems a nice amp with lots of sound options 👍 Then you just need to find the best setup, combined with your guitar, to get this "clean" Hendrix sound (on the edge of breaking up). Thanks man for watching my channel 😉👍

Thanks for this very good lesson. 👍👍👍 What pick-up configuration are you using to play the song? Is it just the neck single coil or a combo?
Thanks man! 😊🎸 I'm using only the neck pickup
