I watched Dredd in theaters, but I hadn't actually even heard of it. My gf were leaving the wine festival, wandered over to the theater, and it was the first movie about to start. Turned out to be such a good watch
Another plus about this movie is great female characters. Nice to see roles where gender/race isn't their primary character trait. They're actually people. Just a fantastic movie.
3:50 This Dredd design is based on the first uniform he wears in the first year of the comics. It was a slender all black biker uniform. With small shoulder pads. The badge is the most outlandish part of the first year outfit.
@@mattemery4081 I always just assumed it was the same concept as the transparent mirror. Utilizing thin layer of metal that appears solid on one side but transparent on the other

@@-Blackguard- After I'd only seen the first 2 minutes and 38 seconds of Dredd and all I could think was this looks a hell of alot like predictive programming... (yes, I'm aware it was based on a comic book but still... Drones, riots, and fascist rule?) Regardless of all that, great movie.
I really do think that when _"3-D"_ is part of the movie title, it hurts it's performance. When had that ever helped? It makes it sound gimmicky and cheap.
This is my fav comic based movie by far - I love the tone it sets, and how it's not trying to be another origin story and cram in backstory. More of a day-in-the-life take.
Dredd is a good movie. Good, not great. Lena Headey was the worst thing about the 2012 reboot. Don't get me wrong she's a good actress and I liked her in 300. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Game of Thrones. But, her acting in Dredd was bad.

Dredd 2012 criminally underrated 🤘🏻
Not underrated, but underperformed.
Driving to work listening to this thanks guys

Three treatment trivia is my favorite recurring segment! I especially loved the three treatment trivia from the Aladdin review.
I got to see Dredd in the theater in 3D. It was pretty amazing! One of the best 3D movies experiences ever!
Doesn't it just suck that all the best movies never get sequels and the real garbage always gets like 7 or something?
meanwhile fast and furious is probably going to end up having 11 films...wtf?

I would argue that the helmet with a red X in the middle that somehow doesn't block out Dredd's vision is the most outlandish part of the outfit.

It was AMAZING in 3D. Caught it in the theater.
This movie is f-ing AWESOME.
Should I be sleeping at 1:29 in the morning ? Probably.
But worth it. Great stuff guys.
Ooo extended Dredd (the Caravan Cut)? Yes ma’am!
The 2012 movie is inDreddable
